Lord Challym

Lived in Era 15, got 1 heir(s) (Challym) and was a member of Saiyan Empire

In the beginning, there was nothing but the will of one force, the force that created all. He alone was responsible for the creation of all that was, is and will be. And as his most favored place he created the world of Atherin.

This world is not special, but for one thing; It's a place of power! As such, it attracted some of creations greatests powers, later known as the Chaos Gods.

They waged war on each other on the world of Atherin, gaining followers who did the same on each other. As these followers gained dominance in certain parts of the world and started to establish nations, the Chaos Gods almost managed to destroy Atherin. That was when they decided to each appoint a Champion to represent them in the mortal world.

Ehun selected the House of Challym as his chosen, and Challym I became his first champion. Champions were beings, humans, elves and others of greater power then other mortals, but still mortal. This house became to lead the people of Nara, the Narai, and eventually led them to more peacefull ways. Farming became the main income and livelyhood of this proud people, and in later years they called their Champion "Greater Farmer" to show their respect.

Many Champions were killed in the fighting or died of other causes, with their powers and titles hereditery. There offspring were still powerfull, but not nearly as powerfull as the first Champions. With the birth of Challym V most powers were so diminished that some normal people held more power then the Champions.

At this point "outworlders" were starting to migrate to Atherin. So they too came to Nara, amongst them members of a people called Vikings. Relations with them were mostly peacefull, but leadership clashed on a personal level.
Challym V and the Viking leader Glammad came to blows over a lot of things, but mostly about an ongoing war against the Priests of the One God. They kept it personal, very personal!

These priests are of a lawfull faith, and stand against chaos everywhere. They controll about half of the continent, and are the enemy of all others on Atherin, determined to take over the world. We will not discuss these people in detail here, but suffice to say it's an all out war now!

While protecting the land against an invasion, Challym V died while breaking a ritual circle, on direct orders of Ehun. This called for the mightiest amongst the Narai to conduct their own ritual+ one to bring Challym back, and Ehun smiled upon them in favour. He did not only sent Challym back, but gave him unprecendented power with his return, the power of the first Champions, and he would need it!

Challym first confronted Glammad, in a fistfight. He struck the brave warrior down with the powers of Chaos, while telling Glammad that `what is yours will be mine, and what is mine will be yours`, and disappeared in to the woods. Glammad now took defacto leadership of Nara, as their champion was in no state to lead.

His leadership was wise and good, and he confronted and defeated many an enemy of his adopted homeland. On one of his journeys he found an artifact, a crown. Not only did this crown give him control of the Undead, it turned him in to one, slowl, as it belonged to the Blood Queen, ruler of the Lands after Life and a former Chaos Champion herself. When she came to reclaim her lost crown, Glammad challenged her to a game of chance, really dicing with Death.

Of course, Glammad won the game, and was rewarded. The Queen lifted the curse of becomming Undead from him when she took her crown back, and asked Glammad to become her cohort after he died. A tough choice for any Viking, being denied Valhalla by choice, but he agreed. He kept some control over encountered undead, but could not raise them anymore.

A year or so later, a greater threath to Nara appeared in the form of Taurik, leader of an order with the Atherin priests. He managed to get hold of Chaosbane, an axe enchanted with the spirits of three demons with the sole purpose of destroying chaos and it's champions. He was leading a large army towards Nara, and Glammad raced in the stop him.

Also at this time Challym appeared again to lead the charge against Taurik, again comming to verbal blows with Glammad. Then on one evening, it happened. Taurik had found the Narai camp and came himself, taunting Glammad and daring him to fight him and the might of Chaosbane. Glammad desperatly wanted to fight, as a victory would silence any critics left. But i was not to be so, as Challym again appeared on the scene and was ready to meet Taurik in battle himself.

An epic battle it was, a Chaos Champion against the might of a weapon enchanted with three demons. But no matter how epic it was, there could be only one winner. The magic of Chaos was no match for Chaosbane, and altough doing considerable damage, this was one battle Challym could never win, and Glammad would have certainly lost. But now Challym could deliver on his promise. As he was slain by Chaosbane, his spirit seperated from his body and approached Glammad, together with the well known figure of the Blood Queen. Together they told everyone present that Glammad would from now on lead the Narai, and Challym would sit with the Blood Queen in eternal death.

But Ehun, would have been a God of Chaos if he would have just let this pass. With a sense of humor, he placed Challym's spirit in a new body, on a new world. The world of Mantrax!
