It's being dominated by tossers who attack people straight OOP - the same tossers are now spread to ALL the worlds and new players don't have a chance.

Really going for good now (like a lot of established players who don't seem to be around anymore) and good luck in recruiting new if it keeps up like this.

you dont need to buy bt's for that. i can get around 5k ghosts oop and enough magic to freeze a little without buying BT's im always in mant save this era died off. =-)

cool, since its about 3 ticks of walk between your spread out cities, that tells us i must have had about 12 bts, and i didnt even notice!

That'd be those 2 /2 ghosts against the 6/4 ponys Mr P?  Not counting whatever mil level he's on by then.  Oh, and just having them in the right town by luck.  Or are you talking 5k L5 or 6 ghosts in every town?  If so, I'm impressed.

And yes, those wouyld be the armies Mr Air-head.  The ones that only moved out when it was totally obvious that you were going to attack me. 

If you use online to make up for something that's missing between your legs in rl then good luck to you, but there's porn sites you could go to for that without spoiling VU.

Soo, you all realize that what he is saying, which is definitely true, can and does have a profound effect on the game and the new players attracted to it, or lack there-of.  And also, you guys keep proving him more and more right with every post.  Generally, if an un-tagged is in our core, and does not seem to present a threat, I will attempt to give him several options that would better suit his position.  I think if more people did this, this game would be much more enjoyable.  People, myself included, forget far too easily that this is just a game, and killing new players OOP sucks all the fun out of it.

The game is suffering from people having a lack in self restraint.
Sure it may seem fun to own new players but what is the point.
I feel that we should be playing roles such as being an elf or an orc, in this game rather than playing as someone who must do whatever it takes to win.

i got halfway through and i got bored, but i got to the point where he said about 2500 ponies OOP.

So the hell what, i ten dot sit around with 3k rockthrowers... its nothing special , no BT's needed you just gotta plan everything to a tee.

And about all this owning new players.... they join a KD theyll be fine, isnt tht the point.... Or they go to a lower world like Zetamania and theyre less likely to get killed off.

I feel there are issues which could be discussed, but this isn't it. If you are starting out new, you must join the best kd you can manage. I met up with the awesome Sp00n on my second day and managed to convince him to let me join Music. Sure I was far away from the core my first era and got killed and killed again, but that was half the fun. I never looked back. Music->  BoW-> Phi-> Abydos-> Music. The love of Music never left me, see? ;)

We must put that up in big bold letters for all newcomers:

Join the best kingdom you can asap!

Issues which could be discussed are whether (a) Lack of walls and small maps together are leading to smaller kds getting steamrollered too quickly on the lower worlds this era; (b) Nerfing of dwarves are hitting good, loyal but less active players who otherwise make a contribution to the game but at a slower rate. However I guess those belong in another thread.

well, the lower worlds aren`t what they used to be. A while ago, they were test fields and training camp for what Fantasia was. Meanwhile the whole thing was messed up. Now Fantasia is still Fantasia, but all the rules are changed. OOP wars are heavier and unforgiven more than ever. A tiny slip and half of a KD core is infested. No walls makes the whole game harder and tactical oriented. U can`t go anymore on a solo hunt (exceptions are newcomers to Fantasia who don`t know the drill, e.g. Wolf from Carnage and the kd of DF last era, who alone wiped the whole KD) because everyone is watching and merging is more essential than ever.
Anyway, Gothrim thread from last era was a very good idea. A training camp is a very good idea.

I dont like Donut at all..but all flames aside, i do share his sentiment....the game is starting to really suck tbh-  the removal of walls was a big mistake to me.  You only do well if you land in the right spot, and have the most active players...even with that skills in the game hardly count for much anymore at all...

It's forcing more and more part time players to go to lower worlds, making those worlds unplayable for the newer kingdoms.....and it's just an endless ugly cycle to me.... something needs to really change lots of ppl are leaving VU all together or thinking about it-  it's no longer an enjoyable hobby it's more of a full time job if you want to survive the eras

How come Paul Mcc didn't contact and tried to make a deal with elements then? Like "let me leave your core and settle up, I will be no trouble for you" it's very simple and many good players usually allow that.

in era 29 things were harder allready yes.. but the time i started you could just start (except on fant) and play a good amount of hours OOP and then join to see whats your best option.. well times have changed..

times havent changed. if you have commen sense you can play a long time posibbly the entire era without joining a kingdom. But if you are stupid enough when you are a new player to take on the entire Map instead of making allies well then you deserve to die. Those who think they deserve a break because they just got oop then they need a wake up call. I had 2 income citie, and an armory set up with a 10k army of lvl 2 with humans when i got oop in era 29 and it was my first time. so no one has the right to complain about getting attacked oop if you make enemies and your dumb enough not to train soldiers. without soldiers you will die, commen sense people.
