Well we can hope... this all reminds me of the on-going debate over 'HOH' armies which, as the HOH page CLEARLY STATES is about the number of troops and may not necessarily reflect the strongest army. Congratulations to Chipolte but an era win without a single kill in a 'war game' is, well a bit ironic is it not?

i have read a few messages except for fate players and butt lickers the rest are in confusion how a none active and farming player can win ?? i am confused myself and the winner should see this as a lame and empty win and no congrats for not fighting, defencive player my a*** we have fates word on that 1,i would imagine he did not supply troops but farm like mad with his other members protecting his back and doing all the hard work, if the system is not changed then i can expect to see another fate player doing exactly same for their turn in getting era win. i think that the scores should now be calculated not whats on just 1 map but all maps equally that dont carry the 50% rule.

lets say crazy/roc/ld etc et al tried to do the same on starta and then move onto fanta...oh wait they were killed off mostly too.

why did YOU and everyone else in vu NOT attack this guy even once? if he was truly hiding behind fate blockers as you claim why didnt YOU break those blockers and kill him?

no matter how many of your mates are good, if someone comes into your core and takes all your cities you are dead....rvl with a tonne of era winners was nearly wiped out completely at one point but pulled out an amazing comeback...it is just no one could take it to fate this era and that is the true problem.

if someone is dead they cant farm or win the era either for that matter.

The only thing that I have at Fant was my 400k Advents and 200k MUs.

well the era might have worked out differently if not zeta messed up the archers the first week.

We were really surpriced on how easy we were rolled over oop.

PKS and PHI were well more advanced in offencive armies then us but we thought we would be safe with our archers, will we trained our armies, but alas zeta messed it up and our archers were 2/2 instead of 2/10 so we just chose a unlucky era to play elf so heavily, though that race served us good in or comback.

But if I knewn fant would matter so much I would not have bottered to take so much land from pks in the end and instead just sending my army to fant.

Ryan just showed us what a joke the scoring were since he only sent his troops there and got #9th spot wile me Maverick and tons of other fighters were screwed on our scores.

ANYONE who wanted an era win and napped the strongest kingdom on fanta GAVE UP the right to it. we were happy(koa) to nap fate coz half our previous alliance(hellbunnies) went there and the rest went to koa(which merged into boom). it was our first era as an alliance and we are friends so we have plenty of reason to nap them. pks,gotf,mad etc may also be friends of fate(i know mad and fate were nap last era) but it comes at a cost and people now need to know such naps come at a price. these other alliances volunterily gave up the era win so their members ought not complain really.

as for fanta i think we have to accept, whether we like it or not, that fanta counts more than other worlds and zeta has designed it to be the true battlegorund...so if you are busy warring someone finish them off quick and get onto fanta. if you are on fanta dont let others on it. zeta wants it this way then fine but it would be impossible for every kingdom to have a presence on fanta as people hunt each other down....so if you see some enemy trying to boost his end score by making a city take him out.

Typically you NAP because of a mutual advantage it would give...not because your friends are in the other KD and you can't bear fighting them because it would make you enemies. I have fought many friends and guess what? Still friends! Of all of the excuses given...blah...

@Ryan: Yeah Maverick owned the living hell out of us. He was like an unbeatable force that none of us could do anything against at all. actually attackin and killing your enemies is fun. that is the reward. It is reward enuff in itself but it must be frestrating for the great generals who accomplish so much to see some whimpy dwarven leader who stayed home be ranked so high. Sour grapes if you ask me.

I think I'd rather have the glory of lots of kills and a low final ranking. Let's leave the coattails for the farmers and meek blocker fodder.

haha charley. we organised this nap last era between stormcrow and myself for this era and that was the point....we had no idea where we would land and wouldnt use where we landed as a reason for the nap. we were only going to nap one kingdom in total and it was going to be fate. we ended up napping two smaller ones(which were originally one but split) and RVL when they were much weaker than us(though we knew they would bounce back)when they asked very nicely when they came onto our world and also full of many friends. we decided, in the case of fate, that ONE era of not fighting the very people who introduced us to the game(such as,mzzery,baked applie pie etc) was the correct thing to do in our second era.

ben,julie,david,carina and kylie of fate i have known for 2-3 years from other games. i might war them some day but in our second era and first as a new alliance we decided not to have a hellbunnies vs hellbunnies war first up.

With kingdom sizes getting as large as they are now, its pretty hard to find a kingdom where you aren't going to be warring a friend. Maybe in the future all kingdoms will NAP and just play SimCity on fant to see who wins? Hopefully not. The game seems too small for all these predetermined NAPs.

Fate did NAP KoA, think Lew posted that out on the forums yes. Nubbins KD. And so what that it had no benefits for Fate other then a goodwill gesture for new people learning the game.
There, now that I've clarified that I can only hope it satisfies the VU Wants To Know club or that I get a spanking from the Fate Vices ^^

Well, there is warring friends, and warring a kd of friends that you know are in their first era and would be easy targets :) If my friends are experienced and could put up a fight, that's one thing, but someone completely new I don't really like to bash friend or not.

we expected to not last oop as we were "fresh meat" so to speak and although about 6-7 of us had played the era earlier(so would be our second era) more than half were brand new this era. plus we had people who came back from crazy just to war us too. we could of easily been food for fate too.

this era will be interesting with many new and offshoot alliances, i just dont think the player should get so much hating and the real discussion ought be on changing scoring in a seperate thread.we should be gracious always in defeat and although the individual era winner was an certainly done in a fashion people disliked, the team win was never in doubt. so that should motivate people to change it ingame, than fight on here.

Speaking for myself (and not the Fate Council), what I am aware of the circumstances of the NAP with KoA was that when it came to us, there was a debate in Fate as to whether to take it up or not. The were two sides to the NAP argument with KOA. One side argued not to make any NAPs before the era started, and to see how the kingdom placements would be. The other side (which I was on as well) argued that there was no harm making the NAP with KoA regardless of the timing because ultimately, the reason why we were making the NAP with them was because we did not want to be seen as "nub bashers" - nub bashing in the sense that we were aware that many players of KOA are either in their first or second era, and Fate doesn't look too highly on the "beating up new players trend" started by a certain major kingdom 2 eras ago :P

I was not one of them.

Farming is lame, filling blockers is cool but if you dont ever attack how do you win a war game? Fate warred early on in the Era, consolidated their base and then attacked and farmed, it was well done but it wasnt anything special. they got lucky because nobody on Fant had balls early on ad then later people napped them because they were just too powerful by then.

so Congrats to fate even to chipotle (its not his fault the ratings are flawed.)
