i just read this because mantrax is uber boring ^^

I was there on the Ovech front for days and days.  Our kingdom's policy at the time was to try and keep all your troops together in one army so we could take out crucial cities full of enemy troops, and that's what I was doing, continually building up my axer armies and defending against History Matter's counterstrikes.  It was my blocker full of lvl 2s that kept the big History Matters 45k archmage army from tearing up north into our core (but I have to give my kd mates credit for actually bumping the army.)

It was during this time when 4-5 of us were devoting huge armies (in my case, all of my troops on the offensive) to keep History Matters at bay and to chase down the one that broke north I mentioned above.  Fredddy on the other hand was grabbing up cities down the southeast of the map without much contribution to our defense.

I do recognize that it would have been retarded for us to leave undefended enemy cities alone to keep providing gold for armies, but at this point in the war our win was inevitable.  There was no need for urgent hyper-active skirmishing, not at this point in the war.  By the time I was able to send my own troops south, the only city I personally captured was a minor half-wrecked armory and even then only with a kd mate's help.  All this was quite a few days ago, so the seeds of irritation had already been building up.

Oh, and for the record, Fredddy was only one of several large players who were continually told "don't be greedy" with waypoint markers.  The others listened though.  In fact it was one of those players who helped me take my armory when he could have been using his troops for his own gains further south in Hema territory.  So it really is a case of teamwork versus personal greed here.  If you haven't had LOS in the zones I mentioned, I really don't think you can understand the situation.

Fates point:

They had a good friend and more than deserving player going for the era win and was earning it with every step. however they came upon a kingdom where multiple people were assigned to fight it. So they all pitched in and attacked. While they where fighting Freddy came in and jumped past everyone and took the economy cities. This in their eyes was deemed unfair.

Vu point here: Tbh i dont care too much for some of the ppl in fate but lets be honest. I think it is one of the unspoken gospels here that when you work together as a kd you share the spoils. I know for a fact last era jackdaniels and myself were both asked to hold back so our magi could snatch some income cities. I do not see a problem with that. In fact if you look at it from this veiwpoint freddy jumping ahead was completely dishonorable. Legit but dishonorable and why should fate support him? Especially since because of his dishonorable acts he is gaining a lead and beating someone who has earned their place!

Fate members am i getting the jist of your side yet? (honest question)

I have troops, Most Likely Die, but being a not-so-active-or-particularly-skilled player there were hidden in Ovech for quite a long time.  If you missed my trains of armies heading south though, you need an eye examination :P

Its pretty normal in VU. kicking a bad player from a kingdom. Just so much comotion about it cause its the #1 kingdom kicking the #5 strongest player.

Ya, i admit i have never been in top 10 for too long. I mean half way through era when fanta would open up i was on there for about 2 weeks. No more though once MAD, Fate, Hiv and phi would hit the world though. So it never was a big deal to me. I guess because of that i cant entirely vote a non biased side to either party. Hence im trying to stay neutral for the time being.. for the time being hehe.

Random gave a pretty good summary of events, let me try to be a bit more elaborate.

I was God Zealots (supposed to be Zeta Zealots, but you know, wordfilters...)

I have seen the actions that have caused Freddy to be kicked just as clearly as Fate did, but I am not in Fate; so I am not biased in their favor.

I will start by saying that I have hated the way that Fate has done politics since the old Carnage eras, so if the matter were not so cut and dry; I would be on Freddie's side. Given the circumstances, I have to agree with Fate that Freddy didn't play as a team member; although kicking him mid-era was a bit extreme.


To understand the scenario in a bit more depth then Random gave, you have to understand what had happened previously in the era. Fate had mopped up the small kingdom AoA, then a late starting MAD, so they were pretty well farmed. As they fought MAD, we had fought a pretty rough war with Hema in which neither side had gained much territory but the losses were enormous to the point that our 15 man kingdom had won more fights then any other kd on Fantasia. As we fought Hema, Fordius/Slade/Random fought and eliminated Havok in the north.

Around the time that Havok was nearly eliminated, Fate moved into the area in huge force, so we began fighting them. Fate then NAP'd GOTF so they could focus solely on us and whatever was left of the kingdoms they were fighting in the west, and we CF'd Hema. If I remember correctly, Freddy had a somewhat small army at the time; but it was his other kingdom members that had fought back most of the HM armies. Freddy moved his armies to take a few lightly defended and razed cities, then headed straight for a blocker that we took and filled from Havok, Ovech. It was around this time that Freddy made a pretty big tactical blunder out of greed.

Our blocker was filled quite nicely, but our core was not completely blocked off anyways, so most of the fighting was on the field between armies. Freddy was the only army in the area around Ovech that was significant. Just above Ovech was a former Havok city that Fate took. 3 Fate armies that were hit were bounced to this city. As Freddy prepped on Ovech, he decided at one point to send his army around 10 ticks away to merge it with another army, which almost cost Fate the 150k or so troops that were in the city above Ovech (failed a full prepped 85%). That was Freddie's first greedy move.

His second was when he has a CW done (I can imagine the cost of this CW was extremely high), and then just walked over Ovech and into our core; once again leaving his kingdom exposed. Now, this isn't your normal "CW the city and path over it" shit, because if Fate wanted to attack our core; then Wolfman from Fate had an army 2x the size of Freddie's; and he could have EASILY attacked us 20 ticks before Freddy did. Freddy basically ran right in and then captured a great number of cities, and left his kingdom to attack the 800k troops leaving Ovech to hit their core.

Freddie's third fuck up was when Random's 200k city revolted off of a Fate member, and Freddy ran in to capture the city.

On a side note, I think maybe 400k or so of Freddie's kills came from me, as Random noted. When I lost 200k ponies around Ovech, I retrained out of my 90k city and made around 300k Slingers and 100k MU in a last ditch effort to try to recapture and raze some cities. Freddy BTed out of a 56400 city, thus losing the city to Random, and then hit my army. Aside from that, Freddy didn't really do a whole lot for Fate; and his Fearsome score is inflated from suiciding armies.

I should also note that by time Freddy was taking our rather undefended cities, the war was pretty much over. The fighting was pretty 50/50, but eventually Fate won due to superior numbers.

I can't blame him for taking a disproportional number of cities, because that is the nature of VU. It isn't the most deserving who win, or who get the most cities. I don't think that I have seen cities be captured at a fair or equal rate in over 25 eras. I can, however, say that Freddie's greed jeopardized Fate's effectiveness on 3 significant occasions.

I do not necessarily agree with kicking Freddy mid-era, and I not think that other Fate member like Grayfish were not much better then Freddy. I also think that Fate essentially saying "Yarlin is going to win this era" is bullshit as well. Sure, you may not have an "official" policy that says Yarlin will win; but you can sure as fuck bet that all actions you take will be blatantly favoring Yarlin and conducive to his victory. But just like how I despise the way that Fate does it's politics; I suppose that this is just something that they do.


Anyways, that is my 2 cents on the matter.

Pretty little pictures of cities on the map hardly gives a good overview of the share of the spoils. City count doesn't count for much for those who fought AoA/MAD who razed a good chunk of their cities beforehand.

I'd encourage people to list other options ;)  Give him a slap on the wrist?

Well the HOH certainly shows who got more then a fair share :p  I know about those razed cities, got a few from MAD and Hema myself... luck of the draw? (reminds me of the era that all I got was razed or armories) ... better tactics? BTs? more active? Either way I guess I was just commenting that Fate knew the potential beforehand as it didn't seem to be mentioned elsewhere on the thread (although I could have missed it since I've been skimming the thread) :P

Luck of the draw? Better tactics? Oh good lord that's not even worth elaborating on. If you really think that then you've sure changed, and not in a good way... and if you don't, then you're just trolling for the fun of it like the rest of the morons.

I still think Fearsome shouldn't be based on cities taken, but on people killed... Makes more sense.  Anyone can take cities, it takes real players to kill massive amounts of armies.  Plus killing people is way more help to your kingdom.

You weren't happy here, so you left mid era.. Didn't hang around till the end of the era and then find a new home... So when we have a member making others unhappy, we're supposed to just keep him around cus you say so?
