Jesus was a Jewish man
21:16:01 May 18th 10 - Mr. Secret Agent Onslaught:

Jesus was a Jewish man, and Jesus is God, so does this make Christian's Jewish?

21:17:00 May 18th 10 - Duke Polydeuces:

Lol, Christians do not believe that Jesus is God though.

21:19:59 May 18th 10 - Mr. Secret Agent Onslaught:

Then explain this quote from the bible.

"He that hath seen me hath seen the Father."

That's jesus saying that he is god.

21:31:17 May 18th 10 - Ms. Almost Priceless:

hes saying he looks like his father, because he's related... duh :P

21:38:55 May 18th 10 - Mr. Secret Agent Onslaught:

Here's another quote from the Holy Bible for you.

“To those who have obtained like precious faith with us by the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ”

Explain this one. Actually, on second thought, I'll explain it for you feeble minded ones. It says that both their God and Savior is Jesus Christ (a Jewish man).

Christians worship God, who is Jesus, who is Jewish, which must mean that Christian's are Jewish as well.

21:49:19 May 18th 10 - Mr. Will Kellys Husband:

Jesus was Jewish and christians would effectively argue they are the fulfillment of the jewish original faith(not judaism which is slightly different).

You can believe in the Jewish god and follow the seven commandments to Noah and be saved as a gentile(non Jew) and this doesn't make you a Jew. To be a Jew as a convert is a rigorous process.

It could be argued in some ways that christianity , if not a fulfillment of the Jewsih faith, is a sect of it.

Still a christian isn't a jew unless he was born one...

Jesus did infact claim to be God, hence the pharisees tearing at their clothes in blasphemy when he used the famed "I AM" which was the same as the burning bush gave as God's name to Moses...in translation it is YHWH or jehovah as we know him(Hashem to the Jews today).

C S Lewis , one of the great Christian writers(and writer of the chronicles of Narnia) put forth this:

"I am trying here to prevent anyone saying the really foolish thing that people often say about Him: I’m ready to accept Jesus as a great moral teacher, but I don’t accept his claim to be God. That is the one thing we must not say. A man who was merely a man and said the sort of things Jesus said would not be a great moral teacher. He would either be a lunatic — on the level with the man who says he is a poached egg — or else he would be the Devil of Hell. You must make your choice. Either this man was, and is, the Son of God, or else a madman or something worse. You can shut him up for a fool, you can spit at him and kill him as a demon or you can fall at his feet and call him Lord and God, but let us not come with any patronising nonsense about his being a great human teacher. He has not left that open to us. He did not intend to. ... Now it seems to me obvious that He was neither a lunatic nor a fiend: and consequently, however strange or terrifying or unlikely it may seem, I have to accept the view that He was and is God."

21:49:21 May 18th 10 - Sir Mcmax The Short:

Christians does not worship God nor Jesus. They live with it.

21:57:27 May 18th 10 - Mr. Secret Agent Onslaught:

"Christians does not worship God nor Jesus. They live with it."

Then why do they prey?

22:16:52 May 18th 10 - Prince Mithras of Arunun:

...In response to the original question:

Yes, Jesus was a Jew.

Jews (religious context) today do not believe that Jesus was the son of god, though they do believe in God. In the bible it says that the original disciples of Jesus began to spread the word of God once Jesus had died, been resurrected and once again rose to heaven. This was the begins of the Christian church, which is what modern Christianity today started out as. Since then Christianity has split into various different denominations, mainly because of differing views in the church on A/ how it should be run (eg. how much power the congregation have) and B/ the teachings of the Bible.

It is also possible to be a Jewish Christian, someone who is born a Jew and then becomes a Christian. However, Christians that were not born a Jew are still Christians, but are not (as you suggested originally), Jewish.

EDIT:

Christians does not worship God nor Jesus. They live with it.

In response to this: Christians do worship God. They (including myself, being a Christian) believe that as creator of the earth and all humanity, he deserves to be loved and worshipped. He also, through Jesus, his son, made it so that everyone who believes in him and asks for forgiveness will receive it, which is another reason to worship God. They also believe that God will answer their prayers (another reason for prayer other than worship) and yes, to worship God through their prayers.

22:23:36 May 18th 10 - Lady Patches Ohoulihan:

Jesus was Muslim, he was Muhammed's son.

22:48:35 May 18th 10 - Mr. Erunion Telcontar:

Well put Mithras, sums it up nicely. I am 100% with you.
Lady Patches... That is moderately funny. But most emphatically not correct. (Jesus predates Muhammad and Islam by some 600 years, so unless you are postulating a time-traveling Muhammad... Something that is in itself, a very humourous thought.)

22:54:12 May 18th 10 - Grumpy old Bastard:

Anyone ever heard of the holy trinity and all that jazz? Sheesh...

23:20:55 May 18th 10 - Lady Patches Ohoulihan:

I think you'll find Muhammed was born in 571 BC.

23:23:03 May 18th 10 - Mr. Erunion Telcontar:

Oh dear.
/me cries at the sorry state of world education.

Muhammed was born 571 AD. Or CE if you prefer.

(I fear I am feeding the trolls, but I'm bored so what the heck.)
