Putin:War to promote Mckain
16:32:21 Aug 29th 08 - Mr. Dreadlord:

acording to the russian president putin. bush incited the georgian attack on oseta with the purpose to promote mckain in the upcomeing elections

17:40:47 Aug 29th 08 - Mr. Basch:

And this is why many think the american government has become corrupt under the bush rule.

17:52:32 Aug 29th 08 - Mr. Justin:

Dude american government was corrupted along time ago. Im ashamed to be an american to see what we have become since our independence

17:59:10 Aug 29th 08 - Praetorian Wyzer:

Damn if your going to insult people, and try to insult Americans, then at least spell things correctly!

Ossetia not "oseta"
McCain not "mckain"
upcoming not "upcomeing"

Also think for a minute on your own, and don't let what you read or hear influence your thoughts.

Most Americans are done with war, and want our soldiers home or at the least back to bases that are not in locations of confrontation.  Just ask any American you may come across, as I am not speaking for them all, yet I am sure this would be the belief of most everyone on the planet earth.  I am one of them, and I am asked all the time about the wars as I do travel to many countries.

So if Bush and McCain could have fathomed this idea as an election plot, they did it to guarantee a victory for Obama.

"The fact is that US citizens were indeed in the area in conflict during the hostilities. It should be admitted that they would do so only following direct orders from their leaders," Mr Putin said in an interview with CNN.

That "quote" made me laugh my booty off when I read it.  Where in the world aren't there any U.S. Citizens?  Same could be said for my other Citizens of other countries.

18:04:00 Aug 29th 08 - Mr. Basch:

I was not insulting Americans. I was insulting their Government. ;p

22:23:39 Aug 29th 08 - Mr. Epyon:

anyone who thinks that Bush incited the georgia attack clearly doesn't know anything...

22:52:19 Aug 29th 08 - Sir Charley Statler:

Bush wouldnt know how to spell or say the word "Incited"

Jeez...you foreigners don't know anything about us Americans do you?

Oh, yes we do know, but whats the point of saying anything you will just say it is not true.

23:09:42 Aug 29th 08 - Mr. Kilroy:

The only Georgia Bush might be familiar with is the one touching Florida.  And that's a stretch.

23:12:34 Aug 29th 08 - Mr. Epyon:

srsly though, Europeans know a lot about America. prolly more than most Americans do lol

23:20:58 Aug 29th 08 - Mr. Roxbury:

Georgia did have troops in Iraq, and the US did fly them back in US military planes to Georgia so they could fight (defend) against the Russians.

Regarding Putins words, theyre probably not true. But you can tell that its rhetorics, he is playing to his base with those words. Imagine how the russian population (or asian or middle eastern) that has been brought up looking at US as a threat.. will take those words. They may not sound so outlandish to them.

23:55:20 Aug 29th 08 - Mr. Dead:

I agree with Roxbury, it's all propaganda anyway.

00:28:00 Aug 30th 08 - Mr. Uttkarsh Bhardwaj:

agreed with Mr.Dead and Roxbury

01:29:47 Aug 30th 08 - Mr. Facepalm:

I want a European and an American to name the breakaway provinces that want to be free of Georgian rule.

Let's see who's faster.

Well sorry I was away at dinner, but the provinces are South Ossetia, and Abkhazia.  Sadly American news only ever talked about South Ossetia, most likely on account that Abkhazia is so hard to pronounce.

03:06:19 Aug 30th 08 - Mr. Killstone:

wyzer wouldnt it be pronounced ahb-kah-zee-uh?

03:09:36 Aug 30th 08 - Praetorian Wyzer:

That could be it, to be honest I do not know.

But you have to remember most news casters of today just have the look and the voice, and not much brains.

Long gone is the day of actually having a good education and being versed in the world a bit before you are given an Anchor spot.

Necro, Think to yourself for a minute. Whats the point of you asking these questions over teh internet and even worse, over a fourm and not a chat or IM service.

Just think to yoursefl for a minute and hopefully you'll get the answer im looking for.

05:52:34 Aug 30th 08 - Mr. Justin:

05:57:30 Aug 30th 08 - Praetorian Wyzer:

What about the Korean War, Vietnam and Panama?  Granted Panama was an extremely short war, but still it was a war.

There are many many more, but those and the ones you mentioned are of the most common knowledge.

06:02:43 Aug 30th 08 - Mr. Justin:

whoopsy i knew i was forget the Korean war and Vietnam war. Ya Korea was a Stalemate if i remember correctly and Vietnam haha that was a fuking massacre. We lost that one bad

06:03:10 Aug 30th 08 - Necromancer Holy Paladin:

Dude im sorry if im just so tired from my X country practice that i cant work around ur time and fall asleep. If you want something to work around ur time i suggest either a dog or a fuk buddy now im tired and im going to bed

06:07:14 Aug 30th 08 - Necromancer Holy Paladin:

and.. he forgot two wars which Praetorian already mentioned Korean war and Vietnam one of the most memorable wars we lost in case you didn't know that Justin

Panama was more complicated I'm not sure if that really counts as an American "war" it was an invasion.. im a little at a loss to exactly where this fits in the wars of America "_"

06:15:58 Aug 30th 08 - Mr. Facepalm:

No  it's internet knowledge Praetorian I bet if you put "Wars America has won" then it would come up with all the most well known.

Your&nb*beep*erican right, Wyzer?

United States vs Morocco, Tripoli, Tunis etc.

Was called what war.

07:26:37 Aug 30th 08 - Mr. Opportunity:

Most patriotic Americans know very little about what their country does and how immature some of the US's actions have been. I am also sixteen and American, yet I have found some of the actions of our country to be disgraceful... Anyone who denies that we have done anything wrong is ignorant.

14:27:44 Aug 30th 08 - Mr. Killertron:

Personally I have doubts about this but it's quite impressive that Putin came out swinging like he did, it's quite rare in international politics. If Putin is lying what exactly is he trying to gain by it? People don't do something like this without a goal in mind, there isn't any obvious gain as far as I can see which makes me not quite dismiss the idea completely.

17:31:45 Aug 30th 08 - Necromancer Holy Paladin:

wrong? lets look at other countries wrong actions... find one country that has always been honorable.. you wont

19:03:57 Aug 30th 08 - Mr. Grawl:

Well tell me, how many americans now like Russia?
And how many like Georgia?

After this war around 80% or more hate russia and like georgia considering them allies that they must protect...

So i guess whoever plotted this war (McCain/Bush? Osama Bin Laden? Obama?) got USA citiziens to hate Russia.
Do consider, which presidential candidate also 'hates' (wel, dislikes) Russia? McCain!

19:50:30 Aug 30th 08 - Mr. Gallyon:

are you kidding me? yes, the first thing McCain thinks of when trying to win an election.....*drum roll*.......... "Hey, let's get Americans to hate Russia! That will win for sure!"

u *beep*, in election years, the last thing a candidate would do is try to start a pointless war. Now, if you argued McCain was on Russia's side, and was trying to get more oil to help his campaign...........u may have an arguement. time for u chilluns to learn how things work. college is a good start, i would reccomend it to you. or, if ur just not up to par for such a "privilege"  at least read a newspaper, they actually have them EVERYWHERE. I'm sure you have seen one at least once in your short, meaningless lifetimes.

No justin, i wasent implying that you would. I was just saying, asking anyone "trivia like" questions over the internet is pointless, even more so when its not over an IM or Chat service because no matter how well you respond to the questions, the asker will most likely always use the counter off : "I can use google to" or somthing of the sort. So replying to these "trivia like" questions is pointless over a fourm and even more pointless is asking them.

04:42:18 Aug 31st 08 - Sir Caradoc IV:

lmao, putin speak the truth? never listen to that communist bastard

04:53:25 Aug 31st 08 - Sir Caradoc IV:

niggas in Europe know nothing of US politics. you all are so nieve too, just like the democrats. oh Bush is so bad, he terrible, ex, ex, ex. what prof do you got BEFORE 2004? well ask why 2004, go ahead. thats when the democrats took over congress, thus leading America into the state that we know it now in.

go ahead and tell me the war in Iraq is/was dumb. its almost over, we lost about 4.5k men for a war, far less than any other war. we have helped their goverment in many ways it could not do before hand. im not saying its going to last long after we leave but still. and...

NObama, 08. think the country is in trouble now? just wait and see...

05:23:16 Aug 31st 08 - Prince Waldorfius Septim III:

We must assaultiate the terrorizors before they make weapons of mass destructive!

To be honest, I think America was built on a great idea, but the idea has twisted. It's more of an oligarchy now...ruled by the rich...:-(

05:41:33 Aug 31st 08 - Praetorian Wyzer:

Mr. Facepalm

No  it's internet knowledge Praetorian I bet if you put "Wars America has won" then it would come up with all the most well known.

Regardless of the final outcome, no one ever really wins a war, in my opinion anyways.  My knowledge is based off of what I remember from school.

Your&nb*beep*erican right, Wyzer?

Yes, I am an United States American.  I don't know what was edited out, and to be honest I don't care.

United States vs Morocco, Tripoli, Tunis etc.  Was called what war.

Your talking about the Barbary Coast?  So maybe the "Barbary Wars", to be honest I do not know.  I do believe these actions led to the creation of the USMC though, and if that is the case then it was not so much a war, but a protection of U.S.A. assets, as the Marines are supposed to be the Guard Dogs of the U.S.A, and have evolved into the front line force.

15:59:26 Aug 31st 08 - Mr. Dreadlord:

why is quoteing a other countries president insultic America.

16:09:51 Aug 31st 08 - Mr. Dreadlord:

oops i meant O'Reilly

16:31:12 Aug 31st 08 - Mr. Brainiac:

Theirs nothing wrong with O'Reilly he's better than those liberal extremists.

02:49:20 Sep 1st 08 - Duke Gilthanas:

This was a stupid thread but it turned out to have some neat arguments. I read up on this one night when I was waiting for Civ IV to finish downloading, and I thought Putin agreed to a peace agreement did he not? Maybe I'm wrong though. It was late and I did stop because my game had completed : )

It seems to me that it would be in good interest to both the break-away countries to be absorbed by Georgia, since they are fairly reliant on its protection anyways.

03:06:01 Sep 1st 08 - Mr. Facepalm:

Weird, what I asked you was

Your an&nb*beep*erican right,Wyzer? I don't think their were any swear words...

And O'Reilly is a douchebag, he makes childrens who have had their parent's die in 9/11 cry because of what they believe. O'Reilly should shut up.

03:16:44 Sep 3rd 08 - Duke Gilthanas:

Ron Paul FTW

08:33:17 Sep 3rd 08 - Mr. Brain:

Ron Paul quit elections ¬.¬

Quoth somebody above:
"u *beep*, in election years, the last thing a candidate would do is try to start a pointless war."

War is one of the best tools to control the people and get elected.
Putin has been accused (mostly by USA for some reason..) that he used the Chechenya War (accusedly provoked by him as well) to get elected.
There's a few examples in US history too.

"It seems to me that it would be in good interest to both the break-away countries to be absorbed by Georgia, since they are fairly reliant on its protection anyways."
Did you not read the news at all?
Georgia made a full scale military invasion on those break-away countries (South Ossetia mostly, never reached Abkhazia), using heavy artillery against civilian cities. According to South Ossetia sources, 1500 dead civilians.
How the heck do you think they'd cope with a country that tried to aninhilate them?
South Ossetia and Abkhazia have been asking for independence ever since 1991 when Georgia separated from the USSR..

15:32:21 Sep 3rd 08 - Mr. Dreadlord:

since they are fairly reliant on its protection anyways.

that seems more of a reason for them to join russia since they are the ones protecting them from georgia.

15:37:54 Sep 3rd 08 - Mr. Basch:

The georgians are nothing but dumb idi0ts for provoking this war.
And if is McCain's plot to gain votes, then he's nothing but a power hungry f*ckwit who will do MUCH worse things than bush ever did like start WW3 for instance
