Update (10:00 AM June 2nd, EDT)

Unfortunately, as some of you have realized by reading links from ThePlanet (our datacenter) about the problem, the problem was a bit more severe that originally estimated. The server that provides our IRC service is on the first floor of the datacenter, so by their current estimates we’re looking at not being online for another 12-14 hours. That sucks, and I’m sorry about it, and just to make this easy, it is 9AM CDT (GMT -5) on June 2nd right now. That’s 2PM GMT June 2nd, convert to your time zone as needed. If anyone is interested in following the status reports themselves, check out http://service-update.theplanet.com/

Well, I could say the same thing about IRC. I've been on it many times to see the VU lobby area completely silent and filled with dozens of names, just like VU Chat.
