Hello. It has recently come to my attention that it is possible to become a VU "guide". I heard it in IRC, and it immediately interested me. I believe many more players have become aware of the existence of the guide role and may have be saying something similar to this, so I will try to keep this brief.

I am a very active VU player who has played this game for 16 eras. I am sending 6 players on the lower worlds messages daily, essentially guides, on a variety of topics ranging from magic to armies. I am very active, online for most of the day. I am always in IRC and check my emails twice a day. I have wrote a number of articles in the guide/article forum section a few eras back that no longer exist, and frequent the questions section of the forums to look for people to help out.

I am interesting in helping new players to learn the game, I always have been. Unfortunately not nearly enough contact me; or even no I exist.

What do I need to do to become a guide? I am very willing to become one.

Deallus, I really want to thank your for defending my validity as a guide in this thread. Mielo and Cobra sure like to troll; especially in the IRC. I have written guides before on magic spell (as you stated) and formulas, the latter I requested deletion of due to them becoming obsolete and the former sent to many players and anyone who inquires. I don't write guides and provide help to anyone who asks me because I want free bts, and I wrote this and posted it before I was certain BTs were given to guides. You may think it was "convenient" that I wrote this up after someone in IRC mentioned the existence of guides and what they do and what they get; but that was because I also just learned about at that time. Also, if you were not an *beep* you could go to the original thread where this was suggested and see that I had said that I wished to become a "Mentor" for new players LONG before I knew there were rewards for doing so; I just didn't know what happened to the thread and forgot about the concept until this thread was pointed out to me. I write long and detailed guides to anyone who asks me to; provide the formulas behind the games mechanics to anyone who asks me to, and will continue to do so; but as a sanctioned guide.

If you are a guide, when you get a message or question from a new player; PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE forward me a copy. I want to find more players to keep in constant contact with as an outlet of advice.

Also, there needs to be a better way of letting new players know that guides exist. I would recommend creating a link for players when they are completing the tutorial world that the Wizard/Retard guy says on creation in the news; since it contains links to other helpful threads, and also making it so when a player starts the game the receive a message containing a list of the guides emails.

well hopefully the new Guides will be able to help and assist all of the new players that come to the game. i dont see a problem with Lewatha being a Guide because i know that Lewatha is a Vet with lots of experience
