Op and dp in battle
15:23:02 Jan 16th 17 - Sir Edi:

Could anyone clear this for me maybe?

Regarding op and dp in battle, for example:

Ponies 6/4 or Gaia 1/2
When you attack the army, will your losses be affected by low or high dp, meaning will you have less dead when you hit Ponies and more dead when you hit gaia?

Or does it matter at all?

15:24:49 Jan 16th 17 - Sir Edi:

Oh additional explanatuon

You have 70% chance against slingers
And you have 70% against gaia

Will the losses in case of win be the same?

15:29:50 Jan 16th 17 - Princess Aisha:

In every battle you roll a dice, if the dice is low, means losses are low, high dice means many dead. Same dice roll I think same result, I do not think op and dp play any role in it

15:51:30 Jan 16th 17 - Kasakasz (Mr. Kasakasz The Kasakasz):

I think that if You fight with gaia vs nazzies you will loose lots of gaia but other way around you will loose small amount of nazzies I think it is calculated based on OP/DP

16:05:25 Jan 16th 17 - King BurningLegion (King Burninglegion The Orc Bear):

Let me show an example

2,000 Gaia = 2K OP and 4K DP

and

500 ponies = 3K OP and 2k DP

if

500 Ponies are attacked by 2k gaia it is 2K OP vs 2K DP resulting in 50% chance.

If you get above 50% you win, below 50% you lose ... that higher your percentage get on winning the battle the better chance a roll is in your favor.

I agree with Aisha and think its all about the roll if your losses are high

You will have more casualties when you attack Ponies then Gaia, because Ponies have more OP.

13:57:14 Jan 17th 17 - King BurningLegion (Mr. Burninglegion The Corrupt Elf):

so OP is considered when defending regarding losses? I didnt know that...

A 3/2 human swordsmen and a 2/2 dwarf swordsmen have the same defense but if you attack a human swordsmen your losses will be higher.

Im glad I know this game mechanic after all these years... i just thought DP and Dice mattered when defending.

18:36:45 Jan 17th 17 - McMax (Battlemage Mcmax of Mantrax):

Hmmm.

You will have more casualties when you attack Ponies then Gaia, because Ponies have more OP.

I think "our boss" made a little mis-spelling. Because it should work like this (I both think and hope):

You will have more casualties when you attack Ponies then Gaia, because Ponies have more DP.

That makes much more sense when you are the attacker.

22:45:04 Jan 17th 17 - Binh (Mr. Binh):

Let me clarify. In a fight a battle's losses is determine by several factors:

Attacker's losses:
Winning/losing
Attacker's dice roll
Percentage of total prep on city
Defender's op : Attacker's dp ratio
Berzerker increases overall losses

Defender's losses:
Win/losing
Attacker's dice roll
Attacker's op : Defender's dp ratio.
Berzerker increases overall losses

Now let's clarify it further on each of the above factor:

Winning/losing: In general a win will receive less losses (especially true when attacking a city. You lose almost nothing when successfully capturing a city and have good dice). And a loss will give more losses. In general if two armies of ponies with equal amount of ponies are facing off each other, it would be much more favorable to the attackers, since the attacker will have greater % chance of winning therefore taking less losses while defender take more losses.

Attacker's dice roll: The lower the dice than 50, the less losses it is for attackers and more for defender. The higher the dice than 50, the more losses it is for attackers and less for defender.

Percentage of total prep on city: Fully prepping on a city will give you normal losses. While having only a % of the total prep will multiply your losses by a large amount. For example let's say you need to prep only 10 ticks for full prep and you attack at 1 tick prep. The losses that would've inflicted upon you is probably 10 times of that when you fully prep.

Op:dp ratio: This is the thing that decide the base loss of a battle. If your op is 3X that of your enemy dp, base loss for enemy is 100%. Army A with 2 ponies vs army B with 4 ponies. In the case Army A initiate an attack against army B, it would have 20% chance of winning. If it lose, it will get slaughter because Army B has 24 op and army A only has 8 dp. If it win, Army A won't get slaughter but will probably lose most of their troops.

Berzerkers: Self explanatory here. Increase total losses suffered by both party by a percentage base on % of zerkers in the battle.

FYI, the above is base from my personal experience. It could be wrong. But I would like to think it is near the truth if not fully correct.

05:05:26 Jan 18th 17 - King BurningLegion (King Burninglegion The Orc Bear):

excellent over explanation Binh.

Mcmax... I believe the noble and wise Zeta meant per point... not litterally pony versus gaia

10:00:27 Feb 7th 17 - ZeTa (VU Admin):

While chance and dice have the most impact on losses, troops with more OP inflict a bit more casualties. So you will get a few more scratches attacking one Pony then fighting two Gaia (same DP but Pony has more total OP).

10:16:30 Feb 7th 17 - Kasakasz (Mr. Bolek The Not Magical):

so basically the defender DP is used to calculate the attacker chance and defender OP is used to calculate loses on attacker side?

14:45:00 Feb 7th 17 - King BurningLegion (Mr. Burninglegion of God):

That what it sounds like hes saying
