Hello people, just wanted to ask why the vu chat room chews through so much bandwidth? for example, a single conversation used up 20mb and when i accidently stayed in the chatroom overnight, it used up bloody 100mb. Why does it hammer through the bandwidth like this?

It check for data every seconds and besides the data always receive a HTTP header like:

HTTP/1.1 200
Content-type: text/html
Date: Thu, 07 Jan 2010 11.28:19 GMT
Connection: keep-alive
Content-Length: ##

plus two line breaks

That's 111 chars or byte

The data might be "Mr. Dwarfnub has joined the channel"

that's 35 byte

Lest say you get data every 10th second. That's 111+35/10 * 60=6870 per minute, 412,200 per hour and that would be about 4Mbyte for 10 hours.
