OFFICIAL RP THREAD
[[Note: If you don't post for two days in a row, you die.  Simple]]

"Marines! Report to the Ops Center immediately!" rang a voice over a loudspeaker.  A large number of heavy footsteps were heard and dozens of men filed into a large conference room.  They took their seats immediately and a tall brown-haired man stood at a podium dressed in a uniform.
"Marines, I have called you here today for a dangerous mission.  Not many operations have been carried out here in space, but we have trained for some of those possibilities.  Now, an unknown enemy has attacked the civilian station of Augustus," said the man.
"General Jenson, you said that the Augustus was attacked? Some of our families live on that station!" said a marine the stood up.
"Yes, I am afraid that an unknown enemy has attacked the station and damaged the outer shield to the point that environmental control has been compromised.  The enemy we are facing could be human, but we are not sure because the suits they wore seemed very foreign to anything we have seen.  They walk upright and carry weapons in their hands like us, and that is really all we know about them.  The first order of our operation will involve First Sergeant Ernst's squad to infiltrate the lower levels of the Augustus station and reactivate the environmental controls.  That will put an atmosphere back into the station so that we can insert more teams without the hazard of suffocating or worse," continued General Jenson.
"Sir, what men will be in my squad?" asked Charley Ernst as he stood up.
"Engineer, Private First Class Drake, Sniper, Corporal Leiondon, Rifleman, Corporal Stevens, Medic, Specialist Makenzi, Rifleman, Lance Corporal Timmons, Sniper, Private Wilson, and Engineer Connor.  Connor will be there for experience and advising you on certain things since he is an experienced engineer, but you have seniority," said the general,"The seven men, eight including you, will be 1st Squad on this mission.  There will be over ten squads on this mission, but first we need you to do your part of the mission. Now, get yourselves to the armory and gear up!"

First Sergeant Charley Ernst saluted General Jenson before heading to the armory with his men.  When he arrived, he quickly moved to his locker and slipped into a black skinsuit that would help keep him comfortable in any temperature.  On top of the suit was a black SteelSkin armor that would be his only source of protection.  Finally, Charley pulled a helmet on and watched his Heads Up Display activate.  He looked around and made sure that everything was working correctly before pulling his helmet off again.  Charley grabbed his LCP-Assault Rifle along with as much ammo as he could carry.  He holstered his 9mm pistol and grabbed two HE grenades on his way towards the door of the armory.
"After you all have suited up, meet at Airlock Three! Repeat, rally at Airlock Three to board our ship!" said Charley as he headed out of the room.

20:56:26 Jun 13th 09 - Mr. Travis Leiondon:

Corporal Travis walked out of the Operations Center, and to his locker.  He grabbed his armor, which had Endo-Shield capabilities, so that Travis would never have to worry about extreme heat or cold temperatures, unless he starts to sweat.  He pulled it over his uniform that he wore when in non-combat situations.  Travis grabbed his sniper rifle, checked it for irregularities, so that it wouldn't fail him in the middle of a mission.  He holstered his pistol, slid several ammunition clibs into several slots on his armor.  Travis pulled out an explosive grenade, and slid it into his armor too.  Travis then grabbed his sword.  Most soldiers prefered to use guns and such, but Travis found that in close combat, rifles only delayed the inevitable, and pistols only get you so far, while swords effectively hold off closeby enemies far longer than any  gun.  Of course, that is if you are foolish to let them get close enough that you would actually NEED a sword.  Travis took a look in the mirror, to check if he had everything in the correct place, and shut his locker.

"After you all have suited up, meet at Airlock Three! Repeat, rally at Airlock Three to board our ship!" Travis heard Ernst order, and immediantly started to pack up some last minute things.  Travis noticed a nervous man filling his combat uniform to the brim with rifle ammunition.

"Well, you seem clam and relaxed," Travis said sarcastically.
The rifleman grumbled, and continued to load himself up with ammo.
"What's the problem?" Travis asked.  "What, do you have a family up there in Augustus or something?"
The rifleman continued to load himself up with weapons, looking more nervous.  The man then stood up, tried to walk around, and fell over due to the weight of the weapons.
Despite the fact that this man had good reason to be worried, Travis had to use every ounce of self-control not to laugh as he helped the rifleman up.
"Thanks," the rifleman said.
"Don't mention it," Travis said.
The rifleman pulled out several clips of ammo, and then shut his locker.
"M'names Timmons, Harold Timmons," Timmons said to Travis.
"Travis Leiondon," Travis muttered.  Timmons looked up.
"Are you really from the Leiondon family?  I've heard some stories about the brave charges some of your famil-"
"Yeah yeah," Travis waved his hand.  "None of its important anyway.  Hell, I never even wanted to join the military.  Only reason I'm in it is because my father forced me to."
"You don't sound to complientary of your father," Timmons said.
Travis gave Timmons a dark look and walked out of the room.

Travis walked down the hallway until he reached the hangar bay corridor, and walked down the hallway until he reached Airlock 3, and waited for instruction.

21:42:56 Jun 13th 09 - Sir Santa:

Private Mark Wilson followed the other soldiers to the armoury. He had trained all his life to become good enough to be asked for a team of specialists, a team that would actually change something in this world, a team like this. But not under these circumstances, not with a dark death hanging over the one thing he loved. He had known her for the better part of his life, she was his only reason to live. Her name was Anna Mankovic and she was one of the doctors aboard the Augustus. He thought of her, of her big green eyes, her beautiful brown hair, her gorgeous smile and her lovely voice. He thought of the great times they had had together, of their first time together, the time he proposed to her and the joy he had felt when she said "Yes, yes I will marry you!". He thought of the house they were wanted to buy, the babyroom they had planned and Cherokee, their dog. Abruptly he came back to the world of today, awoken by a tear on his cheek.
He opened his locker and grabbed his gear in a haze. He too put on his black skinsuit under his SteelSkin armour. He grabbed his 9mm pistol, grabbed a few extra clips and stored them in his suit .He took one of the photos of him and Anna and put it in the pocket near his heart. He picked up a HE grenade and slid it into the grenadeslot. He took out his balaclava and pulled it over his head, his eyes the only thing any other could see. He picked up his helmet, checked the battery, and put it on his head. Finally, he took out "Poacher", his trusty rifle, for he would not fight the enemy, he would hunt them down like the beasts they are.
With one last look at the contents of his almost empty locker, he picked up a small diary, slid it into his sidepocket and left the room. He started walked to Airlock Three, walking behind one of the other soldiers, armed to the teeth, sword on his back.

09:59:57 Jun 14th 09 - Sir Karzun Demonsul:

Michael Drake was already standing at Airlock Three a bit nervously. Having picked up his standard issue pistol and SMG, he had proceeded to collect three breaching charges from the explosives vendor. It was the most he could carry. He also collected a variety of tools, for he was a combat engineer, and he was going to do his job right.

This was his first real mission in space, and he was terrified. Michael had a secret phobia of zero gravity, which had not been dispelled in his training flights. With the Augustus station's environment systems all but destroyed, who knew what strange conditions they would find on the station? Could be zero g, could be a thousand g...

12:13:39 Jun 14th 09 - Demonic Shezmu The Ressurected:

"This will be fun" Connor spoke to Charley Ernst when he was walking briefly alongside him. Charley Ernst looked at the old man and smiled for a second before ordering everyone to suit up and head for airlock three.

As he was suiting up, he noticed some of the young lads look strangely at him and as he turned around he spoke with a funny accent to the young ones "guys, don't let my age fool you, I probably have been in more battles then the lot of you combined and I'm more then capable of doing more battles...on my own if I have to..." with those last words the old guy codenamed "The Barbarian" grabbed his 9mm sub-machine gun and pistol and ventured off into the hallway en route to airlock three.

"let's do this..."

22:49:11 Jun 14th 09 - Lady Sexier Than Quietone:

Corporal Stevens walked out of the shower, naked with only a towel around his head.
"...Aint got time to fix the shangles," he sang while walking out. "What, emergency? Christ, give me five minutes to get suited up."

Shakin quickly suited up, his favourite kevlar jacket, dark coloured camo, incase he had to hide in the shadows, this being his favourite form of assault...an ambush. He also grabbed and standard issue rifle, a 9mm pistol and a couple of frag grenades.
Being the Welsh boy he was, he sang the Welsh national anthem before meeting up with the rest of the squad. Such was his rituals.

As it was his first mission in space, he stared up to the sky wondering what awaited him up there.

Racing towards airlock three he hummed his favourite tune to himself. Singing had always calmed Shakin' down in any situation and had gotten him the attention of many superiors and inferiors alike.

Being late, he quickly apologised to First Sergeant Ernst and lined up behind Connor.

23:00:21 Jun 14th 09 - Demonic Shezmu The Ressurected:

Noticing the young lad lining up behind him, he whispered a few words to the lad.

"your late young one, I do hope you're one of those...better late then never-soldiers...cuz if you're just a never-soldier, it's best you head back right away"

as he spoke these words, Connor looked over his shoulder and grinned at Corporal Stevens for a short moment.

23:02:24 Jun 14th 09 - Demonslayer The Confused Demon Farmer:

The marines all filed into the small and narrow transport ship.  Inside were about ten seats, five on each side, facing each other with a narrow aisle in the middle.  At the front of the ship was an open doorway with two pilots working away at several consoles.
"Alright, file on in here and take a seat! We don't have much time! Headquarters is doing a scanner wash on the Augustus which should give us a stealthy insertion, but it won't last for long! We need to get you guys into that station and get out of here before they get their eyes back," said the pilot as the marines sat down in the seats.  Charley sat closest to the front of the ship with Specialist Gordon Makenzi across from him. The engines of the transport roared to life as soon as the airlock doors closed and the ship detached from the International Space Station.
"So how is this going to work sir?" asked the medic.
"We are going to enter the station from the very bottom.  That is where the environmental control systems are.  That is also our first objective.  We will reactivate the environmental controls and then the other marine teams will board the station as well.  The predicted resistance expected for our part of the mission is unknown, but thought to be very low due to the number of estimated enemies within the Augustus.  Visuals have shown only about six ships that boarded the Augustus, and mathmaticians have estimated that only about twelve to fourteen men could fit on those.  You should know that the station is holding a city that is about the size of Chicago back in the early 21st century," said Charley aloud so that his men could hear over the roar of the transport engines.
"Are we receiving any help from one of the other countries or are we on our own?" asked Lance Corporal Timmons.
"None as of this time, but that could change in the near future.  General Jenson will try to keep us informed when he can, but communications may be difficult when we enter the station," replied Charley.

The transport ship kept moving with no real windows except in the c0ckpit and two small windows on the back.  Charley would look into the forward room to check on the progress before finally the pilot hit a button.
"Two minutes until we arrive! Get ready!" yelled the pilot so that everyone could hear.  Charley moved his way to the back doors of the transport and sat down so that he would be the first person out.  The pilot yelled again at one minute, and he also started a digital countdown that could be seen above the rear doors.  Finally, the ship slowly rotated around and began to approach the underbelly of the Augustus space station.
"Helmets on! Don't remove them until I give the word! I don't need men dying because they suffocated or decompressed!" yelled Charley.  He waited for everyone to put on their helmets before flashing the thumbs up to the copilot.  The rear doors opened up and Charley turned on his Heads Up Display.  Instantly, he saw the heart rate of everyone in his team and green arrows above their heads.
"Let's move into the station quickly!" Charley said as he moved swiftly into one of the station's maintenance corridors.  It was a long and narrow hallway, but he saw no one in sight.  The team moved off of the transport quickly and the door was sealed behind them so that none of them would be sucked into space.  Finally, the transport pushed off and headed back home.

Charley waited several minutes before motioning everyone to move forward behind him.
"Our objective is one level above us.  We are going to head down this hallway, and then climb up a ladder somewhere ahead of us.  Keep close and don't go off by yourselves.  We have to treat the enemy here as heavily armed and highly dangerous.  If you see anything suspicious, let me know quickly instead of shooting or going off by yourself," said Charley before raising his rifle up to his eye level and slowly moving forward as quietly as he could.

18:00:08 Jun 15th 09 - Sir Karzun Demonsul:

Michael checked his HUD; a mission target and station map had been added to the right side. He was glad the rotation of the station had not been altered; the gravity was still roughly normal. Holding his SMG in one hand, he tapped his wrist console with the other, and a reading was given; the corridor had no air.

"Damn guys, we've got no atmosphere at all in here! Keep your helmets on tight!" he warned his team over the com channel. He then proceeded slowly down the corridor after Charley, keeping an eye out for incoming hostiles.

20:21:54 Jun 15th 09 - Sir Santa:

Wilson was among the first to get off the transport and into the station. Immediately he pulled his sniperrifle from his back and brought it up, the scope lying in front of his eyes. Thoroughly he checked the end of the corridor for any threats.
As he heard the others get off the transport, he turned his head to look at them but suddenly saw movement at the far end of the hallway. Within a fraction of a second he had his crosshair aimed at where he thought the being to be. Slowly his finger tightened around the trigger and he started pulling it back. Then suddenly he felt his rifle being pushed down and he heard a voice say, in a very heavy German accent, : "Noh, juss liddle dhoggie. Dohn shoot." Mark let the tip of his rifle touch the ground and he looked at his brother in arms, Connor.

Then he heard Drake: "Damn guys, we've got no atmosphere at all in here! Keep your helmets on tight!" over the com channel. He checked his helmet one last time and followed Ernst, who had just started walking through the hallway.

21:24:30 Jun 15th 09 - Demonslayer The Confused Demon Farmer:

[[Since moving down a hallway is rather boring to describe]]

Charley continued moving down the corridor until he reached a doorway.  The rest of the team was close behind him and being as quiet as they could.  Charley opened up the door slowly and looked inside.  It was completely dark and he was forced to turn on his night vision.  The once dark room was illuminated in an eerie green color, but there was no enemy to be seen.  He then waved the team inside slowly and looked around.
"This looks like a small maintenance center.  The environmental control panel is just up this ladder.  You can see the console from here.  I want two men watching the door, an engineer to reactivate the environmental control, and everyone else spreading out and making sure nothing else is missed.  It looks like there is not much power here, but I have a small battery that can get the console above us working," said Charley as he held out the battery in his hand for an engineer to take.  He also sat his pack down until the team was ready to leave.

22:04:07 Jun 15th 09 - Demonic Shezmu The Ressurected:

Carefully examining the small maintenance center, Connor took the battery from Charley's hands. "I'll take that little piece of hardware if you dont mind, just make sure there isn't anything or anyone else in there with me when I start tinkering with the console...preferably send someone in with me who is good in close quarter combat..." the old guy said shortly after taking the battery.

"seriously...keep me safe...I'd be rather upset if I was the first one to fail at installing a simple battery to operate a console..." Connor grinned at Charley after saying his last scentence and slowly moved into the small area to start on his task.

22:32:41 Jun 15th 09 - Sir Karzun Demonsul:

Drake kept close behind Connor. "Don't worry, I've got your back." he said somewhat cheerily. He held his SMG in both hands, and glanced around the room as they entered it. It looked deserted. Suddenly, the lights flickered and failed. All that could be seen was the HUD display, which was a little disorientating.

"What was that?" exclaimed Drake, hand going to his wrist. After a bit of fumbling, his helmet light was on, illuminating the metal in front of him. Various other helmet lamps were also activating among the squad. After a quick glance around, Michael reported, "It's alright, just looks like a power failure to the lighting. We should be able to fix it from this very room." However, he remained guarding Connor, as was his job.

[[Thought I'd do something interesting, I hope it's not too much]]

22:42:43 Jun 15th 09 - Demonslayer The Confused Demon Farmer:

[[Fine.  Just don't make enemies attack because no one really knows who/what they are :p]]

23:28:13 Jun 15th 09 - Lady Sexier Than Quietone:

Stevens had sat at the front of the transport ship, meaning he was one of the last to hop off. Putting his helmet on carefully, he fastened the strap tightly. Too many friends he knew had their helmets fall off, been shot off or took them off and subsequentially been killed in action, well. Most of them, ole Paul Young, his helmet fell off and a tiny rock got him. Who threw it, nobody ever found out.

Poor Paul, Shakin' thought.

As the transporter landed, they had been shot through the sky at a great speed, unsteady on his feet due to the few times he had travelled through space, he wobbled off the craft with the other men.

Listening to First Sergeant Ernst, he got up into position in the rank and kept his eyes open for any movement. Sometimes watching too much and seeing stuff that had not really existed.

Calming himself down, Shakin' began his favourite passtime, quietly so not to be heard by anyone else and barely hearable to himself despite the ability to hear a pin drop.
"...and she believes in me, I'll never know what she sees in me." Shakin' sang, quietly.

Upon seeing the helmet lights flicker on and off, Stevens hummed his song, a little louder to calm his senses. After all, he was a proven soldier under extreme circumstances, should he keep calm.
Great Scott Shakin' thought, he had always seen the movies where the enemies had given them a small hint before the ambush, maybe that was it?

23:36:07 Jun 15th 09 - Mr. Travis Leiondon:

Travis walked into the maintenance area and saw a workbench and a few security lockers.  The sniper carefully opened one locker, and examined the contents.

"Hmm.. cigars, a deck of cards, bottles of vodka, and there's an old 2009 Playboy posted taped to the locker door.  Looks like these maintenance workers have some fun nights."

Travis smiled, and searched the others lockers, only to find some small components, an ID Card, and some tools.  Deciding they might come in handy, he grabbed them and put them in his backpack.  He then readied his sniper rifle and pistol, and climbed up the ladder into the room with the environmental control panel.

01:31:24 Jun 16th 09 - Demonslayer The Confused Demon Farmer:

Charley ordered Timmons to help watch the door while he looked around the room.  There were a number of electrical junctions that controlled part of the station, but nothing major.  He then received a burst transmission from headquarters.
"First Sergeant Ernst, after you have reestablished environmental control, I want your team to head towards the power control station on the Augustus.  It seems that our enemies have begun tampering with the power in a number of areas so that transportation around the station is controlled only by them.  There are a number of sectional power stations, but the main one is the objective.  You may have to power up some of the other stations, but get the power under our control.  More marines will be brought in soon to take the security command center and other major points," said the voice transmission from General Jenson.  Along with the message came a small file with a three-dimensional map that Charley looked at momentarily.
"Connor, have you found the panel yet? We need to get moving so that this operation can advance," said Charley through his squad communications headset.

09:10:40 Jun 16th 09 - Demonic Shezmu The Ressurected:

"can you stop talking? I was in the middle of connecting this darn battery, apparently it's poles need to be refitted in order to actually fit onto the console...oh hang on...yeah...that should do the trick..." Connor pulls a few loose cables from a nearby light source and connects them to the battery.

"now all I need to do is..." a mild crackle is to be heard "and there we go...we should have some access to the grid now in this area, care to give it a whirl, sir?" Connor spoke as the monitors of the console started to come to life.

19:26:58 Jun 16th 09 - Sir Santa:

When the group of men entered the room, some of them immediately started guarding it against any possible threats for the outsideworld. Wilson wasn't among them, he has never been good at closequarters and he still wasn't so he sat down.

Following the example of his superiors, he clicked on his nightvision and took a good look around. While he was watching Corporol Leiondon sack the lockers, he remembered the small diary in his pocket and he took it out. It was an electrical device with a little microfone attached, enabling the owner to "write" with his voice.
As Mark sat, alone, in his little corner, he started whispering: " February 21st, 2097, 9:55 am, Day 1.
Dear Diary,
only minutes ago have we arrived aboard the USSS-Augustus and already this place is creeping me out. I would've expected to find at least a mechanic or two down here, but the only lifeform we've seen so far was a stray dog. I just hope they're not all dead, I hope she's not dead. God knows what I will do to these...things or whatever we're up against. She can't be dead, she just ca...ok Mark, calm down now. Positive thinking, she's still alive, she hás to be. I'll just have to keep an eye out for any personalfiles. If I know at which hospital she worked, I may find a chance to go and look for her. She has to be alive..."

He closed the diary with wet, gleamy eyes. As he stood up, the soft look in his eyes was replaced by a hard and cold one. He had clearly shook of his emotions, he wouldn't let them control him. Standing there, nearly invisble in his dark, little corner, he waited until it was time to leave. Every second he waited, felt like an hour. Time was critical...

21:05:29 Jun 16th 09 - Demonslayer The Confused Demon Farmer:

"Alright, hang on," said Charley as he quickly climbed up the ladder.  He walked over to the console and flipped through several windows before finding the environmental control access.
"Let's hope this works," mumbled Charley as he pushed the button.  For several seconds nothing happened.  Then he could hear vents beginning to push air into the room and he decided to check out something else.  Charley opened up a diagnostic panel of the entire station and saw that the hole in the outer shield had been closed with a temporary energy field.
"It looks like the containment has been reestablished, but it will take a little bit for the air to be breathable enough," said Charley.  He hit another button and then suddenly stopped what he was doing.
"I hope that didn't get their attention too much.  We need to move quickly.  At the end of the hallway below us is a maintenance lift that will take us towards one of the power stations below the city level.  If we move there fast enough, we may avoid any enemies," ordered Charley as he slid down the ladder from where the environmental controls were.
"Connor, I forgot to grab the battery.  Just grab it and follow us," said the first sergeant.  He peered out into the hallway that Timmons was guarding and turned the next corner.  The bodies of two men were laying on the ground.  Each of them had several small holes in their bodies that must have been from gunfire.
"Makenzi, check the bodies," ordered Charley as he and Timmons watched the hallway.
"Long dead sir," replied Makenzi after he finished examining the two engineers.
"Let's hope their killers aren't still around here.  Marines, move to the lift and also check for any important materials along the way," said Charley as the group of marines slowly began advancing towards the large maintenance lift that was on the other side of another engineering room. There was an assortment of lockers and smashed control panels in the room, and blood was scattered around the area in several spots that showed that several people must have died or been horribly wounded.  The bodies were nowhere to be found, and Charley wondered where they were at.

21:40:54 Jun 16th 09 - Sir Santa:

[Did they break the 2-day-no-posts=dead-rule? :P]

21:47:23 Jun 16th 09 - Demonslayer The Confused Demon Farmer:

[[Mayyyybe...except I will make the deaths more...fun :p]]

16:07:54 Jun 17th 09 - Lady Sexier Than Quietone:

Shakin' took a moment too say a prayer for the fallen marines and sing them a tune.
"To live without you, would only mean heartbreak for me. I say a little prayer for you, I say a little prayer for you." Shakin' sung quietly, closing their eyelids.

Stevens then picked up his rifle and followed up the squad, entering the room a stench of blood hit him, it was a sticky red liquid that he hated seeing. Stevens helped look around the room for the missing bodies, to no avail however.
He checked his watch, wondering how long they had been in this place. It had felt like an age, despite it only being a short time.

17:12:20 Jun 17th 09 - Sir Karzun Demonsul:

Drake kept his helmet on; the HUD and light were too valuable to lose in the dark. As he moved carefully past the bodies to look for nearby hostiles, he saw something in the shadows. A service elevator's numbers were rapidly decreasing. The elevator was quickly approaching their floor. "Looks like we're gonna have company!" he warned over the intercom.

20:18:47 Jun 17th 09 - Mr. Travis Leiondon:

Travis, hearing Drake's announcement, pulled out his pistol, ready to fire at anything.  The numbers kept going down, and Travis took a deep breathe.

"Ugh... where's that beer I found... heh."

Travis pulled out his sword, and looked quite badass holding a pistol in one hand and sword in the other.

21:02:44 Jun 17th 09 - Demonslayer The Confused Demon Farmer:

"Everyone, take positions out of sight! I want to see who or what is coming before we just start shooting.  Medics, keep out of the line of fire.  I don't need anyone getting injured and not having anyone to help them.  Primary weapons out and ready," ordered Charley quickly.  The elevator continued descending until it reached their level.  Three humanoid looking beings stood in the elevator and Charley looked at them through his rifle scope.  They wore grey colored armor with a red insignia upon the breast.  It looked like a shooting star, but he could not be sure.  The three looked like the one enemy that he had seen on the security footage back at the International Space Station.
"Enemies," Charley thought to himself.  They each carried a weapon that resembled an assault rifle, but it looked like nothing he had seen before.  The visors of the three enemies glowed a pale green and then red for a moment before they suddenly scattered.  One of them took cover in the elevator while the other two ran behind some computer consoles near the far wall.  Two shots were fired, but they were not normal bullets.  They fired very loudly and accurately with incredible force behind them.  Charley had to pull his head away from the corner to avoid being hit and pieces of stone were torn away from the wall.
"Some kind of high powered rifle? I haven't seen anything like that," thought Charley.  He then aimed around the corner and fired off several bullets before having to retreat to safety again.
"Three tangos, green light to engage.  Take careful shots and avoid exposing yourselves too much!" said Charley over his channel.  He then spun around the corner and fired two bursts from his assault rifle and caught one of the enemies in the chest, but he crawled back to his feet slowly and kept under cover.
"What the hell? That should have killed him or at least kept him on the ground for a few hours," thought Charley.
"I think they have some kind of heavier armor so if you hit one of them, try to keep firing!" added Charley.

[[The battlefield is a hallway that leads into a medium sized room.  There are a number of computer consoles scattered around with the elevator on the far side.  If more detail is wanted, I can give more]]

21:51:50 Jun 17th 09 - Mr. Travis Leiondon:

Travis pulled out his sniper rifle and took a position behind a vending machine, and pointed his gun at the elevator.  Suddenly, three soldiers of some kind in gray armor jumped out and attacked.  A soldier with a rifle-like weapon shot at Travis, who ducked and barely avoided getting hit by the shot.

Damn, these guys aim well...

Travis got up, aimed at the head of one soldier, and fired.  The shot found its mark, and Travis smiled, but only briefly.  The soldier he attacked got back up and fired at Travis, blowing up the metal crate, and leaving the corporal in the open.

"Crap!" Travis exclaimed, and ran towards a small computer console.  Travis raised his head and spotted the shadow of two of the enemy soldiers hiding behind another computer console.  Pulling out his one grenade, he applied a coating of tar to it, so it sticks to whatever it touches.  Travis fired off a couple of rounds at the enemies to get them to raise their heads.  One soldier got up and fired a round at the console, which destroyed its monitor in an explosion of sparks.  Travis threw his grenade at his attacker, and by sheer luck, it hit the soldier's helmet.  The soldier struggled, pulling at the grenade, and was fast enough to pull it off, but not enough to get it away from him.  One computer console exploded, and one enemy was lying on the ground, hopefully dead.  The other had ran off when it saw his comrade had fallen.

"Hah!" Travis yelled.  "That sure showed th-"

The consolde he had been using as cover exploded, and the rubble hit Travis in the gut, knocking him back a foot.

"They got Corporal Leiondon," someone shouted.
"No they didn't," Travis muttered, as he got back up and ran to find some better cover.

22:25:43 Jun 17th 09 - Sir Santa:

[Ahh I was wondering how they managed to get out of the elevator behind cover practically unscaved :S]

Wilson had taken cover at the far end of the hallway, where he hoped the enemy wouldn't see him, hidden in the shadows. He took out his rifle, his trusted "Poacher", and preloaded it. He aimed at the closed elevator doors, his finger at the trigger. Taking a deep breath, he waited for the "ping" to announce the arrival of the enemy. Right before the doors opened, he heard Charleys order and took his finger off again.

When the doors finally opened, he saw three dark figures standing there, looking at them whily they were looking back. Suddenly they jumped away, getting behind cover, except for one of them. He had found safety in the elevator itself, waiting to fire back at the enemy. Suddenly he stuck out his head to find the Marines and Wilson fired a shot. As if the soldier knew what was coming at him, he ducked to the other side of the elevator and the bullet missed its target.

Sitting in the shadows, Wilson kept his sights at the elevator, knowing he would pop out again. After a dozen seconds, the soldier turned his rifle along the corner of the elevatordoor and fired a few shots. Even though Wilson was at least a 100 feet away, the soldier's bliendfiring nearly hit him so in a reflex, Wilson took the shot. He had aimed perfectly and the bullet hit the soldier's wrist at full speed. His arm got smacked backwards and his rifle fell out of his hand. He wont be shooting much now. Thats one ready for interrogation, Wilson thought to himself.

But then the unthinkable happened, the soldier's hand reappaered around the corner, this time holding some sort of pistol. His wrist seemed in perfect shape, as if it had never been damaged the way it should have been. Wilson thought to himself This is imposs... but was distracted by a loud explosion.

As he opened his second eye, he saw his fellow sniper sitting close to the front, hiding behind a computerconsole. He saw the muzzleflashed of one of the enemy's rifles, in Travis' direction. Suddenly the console exploded, shooting debries in every direction. As he saw the Corporol hit the ground, Wilson shouted: "They got Corporol Leiondon!"

But when he saw the Corporol getting back up and running for new cover, he knew he was alright and shifted his focus to the enemy still in the elevator. While he was waiting to stick his head out for the third time, the doors began closing. Desperately he fired two shots at the thick metal of the closing doors but he knew he missed.

Then as the doors were almost touching one another, his nemesis stood in the middle of the elevator, looking at him. Immediately he aimed, took a slight breath and fired. The doors closed. Whether he hit him or not, if he was dead or not, only time would tell.

[[Well, we were going to just observe them and see what they do while hiding, and they spotted us due to being wallhackers]] :p

[I knéw it! Lemme guess, Aimbot too? And God-mode? Pfft I hate these kind of cheaters :'( ]

15:24:47 Jun 18th 09 - Demonslayer The Confused Demon Farmer:

[[They have aimbots, but not godmode :p  I think people were getting carried away with how strong this armor is.  A sniper bullet hitting them in the head would probably kill them :)  Their suit has a medical system that begins healing, but it won't do instantanous cures.
PS-Carrot needs to post sometime.  Going to continue the RP in a few hours.]]

[Then we'll just say Leiondons shot ricocheted from his helmet due to pure luck ;) ]

[had the misses over the past 2 days...she has priority ;)]

Walking back calmly to the group with the battery held tight in his hand, Connor watched amazed as his team suddenly ran for cover. Over the channel he heard Charley command everyone to find cover asap, so Connor dropped the battery in the middle of the pathway and jumped into a pile of metal boxes to his right side. Not soon after bullets flew past his previous wearabouts and pieces of wall crashed onto the floor when they got hit.

"holy crap, this is just like in the old days...though these bullets or whatever they are sure have a huge impact! and they seem to be way more accurate as well!!!" Connor spoke over the channel "Sarge, any ideas on how to get rid of these lads before they get more help?! Personally I'd try and destabilize the integrity of the ceiling above them, see if we get it to collapse, then stuff a few nades in there with them..."

20:30:21 Jun 18th 09 - Demonslayer The Confused Demon Farmer:

[[I am priority!]]

Only one of the enemy soldiers remained alive after the firefight continued.  Stray bullets flew back and forth and luckily none of the marines were injured badly.  The last enemy started retreating towards the elevator, where another was slumped against the wall dead, and the doors started closing.  Realizing that the soldier was getting away, Charley raced across the room and rolled one of his grenades into the elevator before the doors closed.  The blast filled the elevator shaft several seconds later and part of the explosion blew out the doors near Charley.  One of the doors struck him and he was knocked to the ground roughly, but luckily only suffered some bad bruises.  He limped over to the elevator shaft just in time to see the elevator itself drop to the bottom of the shaft with a crash.

"Secure the area!" said Charley as he winced through the pain.  He hobbled over to one of the dead enemies and knelt next to it.  Charley picked up the weapon in his hands, but could not figure out a way to fire it.  He sat the weapon down and was about to call everyone together when the gun suddenly discharged.  A single shot fired off and struck the ankle of Lance Corporal Timmons.  He let out a yell and fell to the ground heavily after he wa*beep*.  Charley ran over to Timmons' side as quickly as he could.
"Medic! Someone get over here now!" shouted Charley.  While he waited, he glanced back over at the gun and Specialist Makenzi ran over to Timmons.
"Someone grab those weapons and put them somewhere safe.  Don't use them! I want to send them back to headquarters and have them examined," said Charley.  He then left Timmons' side since he was being taken care of and walked over to one of the dead enemies.  Charley knelt by its side and looked at the armor.  While he was examining it, the armor suddenly fell away, revealing a black skinlike material underneath.  It reminded Charley of his own black skinsuit that controlled his body temperature, but it also had a system of tubes and electrical parts that ran all around it.  On the inside of the armor was more tubing and electrical parts.
"This could explain how they could take such a beating..." mumbled Charley to himself.
"Someone get this armor as well.  I want all of the equipment here sent back to headquarters as soon as we find access.  I think we will also have to evacuate Timmons as well.  Once Timmons' wound is taken care of, we will have to climb a ladder up two levels in order to get to where the elevator was going to take us," said Charley.  He rubbed at his leg some more before moving towards a door next to the elevator and opened it.  Inside was a long and narrow shaft that led upwards and a metal ladder hung from one of the sides.
"A long climb eh?" mumbled Charley.

16:50:25 Jun 19th 09 - Sir Karzun Demonsul:

Drake looked up the long shaft. "It's times like these I wish we did have zero gravity..." he murmured, before waiting for the order to climb.

18:03:57 Jun 19th 09 - Mr. Travis Leiondon:

Travis walked towards the elevator shaft and took a look at the surroundings.  He noticed two metal bars hanging from each side of the elevator shaft.

"Hmm..."

Travis grabbed one in each hand, and jumped off the metal floor.  The corporal wobbled around a bit, and then turned around to wait for Timmons to get healed.

19:02:22 Jun 19th 09 - Sir Santa:

Wilson saw the group gather around one of the marines so he came closer for a better look. But when he saw Timmons wounded ancle and the blood pouring from it, he felt a weird feeling in his stomach. He felt some stomachacid come up and started vomiting a little bit. When, after a minute or two, he dared look up again, he saw the Medic holding a piece of bandage soaked in blood. Suddenly the world around him went dark and his body fell to the ground.

19:40:28 Jun 19th 09 - Sir Karzun Demonsul:

Drake saw Wilson drop the the floor, and lunged to catch him, but failed. "Ugh, they're dropping like flies," he muttered, before going back to the elevator shaft and seeing Travis hanging onto the ladder. "Can you see what's at the top?" he asked.

23:03:06 Jun 19th 09 - Mr. Travis Leiondon:

Travis took a look up the elevator shaft and squinted.

"Uhh, there's a light at the top... looks like another open doorway.  It's maybe two or three levels above us."

00:20:40 Jun 20th 09 - Demonslayer The Confused Demon Farmer:

"Ah hell, don't tell me that Wilson doesn't like seeing large amounts of blood?" groaned Charley as he turned away from the ladder.  He walked over to the fallen marine and knelt by his side.
"Drake, take care of him until Makenzi is done patching up Timmons.  Everyone else, climb up the ladder.  We have a deadline everyone.  The longer we stay here, the more chances that a larger group of enemies will be all over us," ordered Charley as he began climbing up the ladder.  It was a narrow shaft right next to where the elevator ran, but there were openings at regular intervals to allow access to the elevator shaft.  After several minutes of climbing, Charley reached the level he wanted and dropped off of the ladder quietly.  He brought his rifle up to his eye and scanned the hallway that he entered before peeking back down the elevator shaft.
"Clear!" he said over the com link.  He then waited for everyone to catch up so that they could enter the power station nearby.

00:51:31 Jun 20th 09 - Mr. Travis Leiondon:

Travis, already on the ladder and annoyed that Charley decied to jump over him, climbed out of the elevator shaft and looked around.  Several vending machines were scattered around.

"Anyone got change for a $20?" Travis joked as he thumped the top of one.  The vending machine gave a rumble, and suddenly the side of the vender broke, letting all of the drinks and snacks fall out into the open.

"...If I survive the mission, would someone remind me to pay for this?"

01:12:37 Jun 20th 09 - Lady Sexier Than Quietone:

Shakin' having been taken back by the blook filled room had still been in a trance whilst the quick yet dangerous firefight had been taken place. He caught back up just in time to see Charley get knocked down by the doors and Timmons getting shot in the ankle.
"Medic! Someone get over here now!" shouted Charley.
Shakin immediately rushed over to the fallen comrade and comforted him.
*beep*, First Sergeant Ernst just shot him. He thought to himself.

Shakin then walked over to where Drake was looking down the shaft and nodded in agreement when he heard him mutter about zero-gravity. Turning around to see a wounded mans blood pouring onto the floor and another man, collapsing at the sight of it.
Some just don't cut this job. He thought, once again not willing to express his opinion, unless it be in the form of song.

"Hey guys, I'm sure that gunfire, explosion and elevator crashing down the bottom of the shaft may attract some unwanted attention. Maybe we should, you know. Get the *beep* onto the next floor?" Shakin' said, this time willing to express himself, albeit he didn't know Charley was saying the same thing less than 5meters away.

Watching Charley and Travis swiftly climb the ladder, Shakin' had no reason to wait around and quickly climbed up the ladder too.

Observing his current surroundings, he too saw the vending machines and followed Travis over to them, looking for a Galaxy Caramel.

"Anyone got change for a $20?" Travis joked as he thumped the top of one.
Shakin reached into his pocket but before he could bring out a note the vending machine dispensed all of its drinks and snacks.

"Galaxy caramel?" Shakin' asked.

10:14:44 Jun 20th 09 - Sir Karzun Demonsul:

At the top of the ladder, Drake peered around the corner into the dark corridor. His helmet lamp illuminated a cone of air in front of him. "No hostiles in sight..." he reported back. He then checked a console in the wall, only to find it needed power. "I think the power room is just over there, through a door round that corner!"

15:50:45 Jun 21st 09 - Demonslayer The Confused Demon Farmer:

"I need an engineer to get the power started," said Charley over the radio.  He had pushed forward and entered the power station, and it was abandoned to his surprise.  The power was completely off in the area and only his shoulder light and night vision cut through the darkness.  There was a number of controls, levers, and switches, but Charley had no clue which would get the job done.

08:04:25 Jun 22nd 09 - Demonic Shezmu The Ressurected:

Connor was on his way to regroup with the rest when he realized he didn't have the battery on him

"Sir, I've lost the battery during the battle, I'm on my way to retrieve the item as it should be near the crates I jumped into when all hell broke loose..."

with a steady pace, Connor went back to retrieve the battery and hurried back to climb up the elevator shaft.

"good lord...and this at my age, what the hell did I sign up for this time..."

13:08:35 Jun 22nd 09 - Lady Sexier Than Quietone:

Shakin' figured it was unwise for Connor to go back alone, considering thats where the previous firefight had happened. So he turned around and followed him down the shaft back to the previous floor.

Blood still stained the floor as Shakin' moved slowly in a lowered position, shouldering his rifle incase any sudden nasties came out to play.

He moved to a covered position and waited for Connor.

14:16:58 Jun 22nd 09 - Sir Karzun Demonsul:

Drake stood in the corridor, SMG radied for hostile contact. Without the battery, they couldn't get the power started. Sometimes he wondered if Connor was too old for this mission. First he forgot the battery, next thing he might forget his gun...

Before he realized what he was doing, Drake had wandered down to the end of the corridor, quite some distance away. The clang of marching on metal caught his ears. Crouching into a doorway, he hoped he would not be spotted. Suddenly, several armored troops marched past, and Drake held his breath. One stopped at the doorway, but did not turn around. They must not have known that they'd reached this level of the station. Before too long, they were away, round a corner. Drake straightened up and called urgently on the comlink. "Multiple hostiles inbound! They'll be coming around the corner into corridor B very shortly! Be ready for contact!" with that, he began to hurry back down the corridor to keep an eye on the approching enemies.

20:56:42 Jun 23rd 09 - Demonslayer The Confused Demon Farmer:

"Damnit Drake, I told no one to wander off by themselves! Everyone who is almost up here, get into the power room.  Everyone still at the bottom of the ladder, stay there.  I don't want you coming up in front of them.  Snipers, go prone at the door of the power room, everyone else, get a good view of the hallway and prepare to give them hell! I want everyone to aim for the head and someone also get a grenade in there for good measure.  While that is going on, I need a spare engineer getting the power up.  We will need reinforcements and evacuation for Timmons.  Let's hustle marines!" ordered Charley over the radio.  He quickly moved to the double doors that led to the power room and saw that it was empty except for a body in the corner of a maintenance man.  Charley looked around quickly and then moved to the left side of the double doors to wait.

Meanwhile, Makenzi was just finishing up with Timmons after stopping the bleeding.
"Sir, Timmons is stable and I think he can move, but only a little bit at a time.  How will we get him up the ladder?" asked the medic.
"We will deal with that after we take care of these enemies.  Just hide yourselves until we clear the area again," replied Charley over his comm channel.

Three enemy soldiers moved towards the hallway that the ambush was being setup in and were not careful enough.
"Open up on them!" ordered Charley as he fired off a burst that struck the lead enemy in the face, knocking him to the ground and he didn't move.  The remaining two tried firing from where they stood, but they were far from any kind of cover.

00:25:49 Jun 24th 09 - Mr. Travis Leiondon:

Travis fired off a couple shots from his rifle at the enemy troops, each one missing only by a centimeter.  A shot rang out from one of the enemy soldiers, as it struck Travis in his left shoulder.  Another shot rang out, and hit him in the same palce as before.  The marine fell back, groaned, and got back up.

Been though worse, I can still remember the time those grenades at home base went off prematurely...

The man grasped his rifle again, only to have it damaged.

"Dammit," Travis swore, pulling out his pistol and sword again.  He fired at his opponents, striking one one the edge of the thing's helmet.  Travis shot two more times, striking the soldier in the face again.  He... or she, it, whatever the hell it was fell against the wall, and didn't get back up.  Travis then watched as the rest of the marines finished off the other enemy.  The marine took a look at his elbow, and groaned.

"Damn, hurts more now than before," Travis said.  Suddenly, his vision went hazy, and his eyes had a glazed look about them.

Dammit, they must have shot me with a sleeping dart too... Travis thought as he fell to the ground.

18:34:56 Jun 24th 09 - Sir Karzun Demonsul:

Drake ran around the last corner when he heard gunfire. Rushing towards the opponent, he opened fire wit his SMG, filling the corridor with bullets. Most of them did very little damage to the enemies, but one of them fell. Drake saw this was as much damage as he could do, and dived into one of the side doors. Unfortunately, one of the downed enemy's comrades had taken the initiative, and hit Drake in the leg mid-dive. Landing an an awkward angle, Drake fell headfirst and cracked his helmet's visor on something, causing the HUD to flicker. Climbing painfully to his feet, Drake supported himself on a desk, and began to limp back to the door, pistol in his hand.
