Erus by Septim ~and~ Deallus
The Purpose The purpose of this RP is to simply live, sure, some day you'll vanquish the Dark Lord and what not, but most of the time you're simply saying what you do. Roleplaying! Most of the information is in the Erus - Information thread. There are no stats except for the ones in the sign-ups, use those to describe your kingdoms. No magnificent Empires with a culture of one...or no huge armies with&nb*beep*ilitary of one...got it? Good. Alright, get started! Describe yourself, your Empire, your family! Lets go! :-D

[[Forget the long run-up thing I said, I'm starting at the modern day. Otherwise I'm chronologically out of sync with everyone else. But I'm keeping my stats the same. Also, how long is an era going to be in this? An actual VU era, a week, a day, what?]]
Bronimina Name: Karzun Demonsul Description: Ornate armor, wielding a massive sword Family: Wife-Aila Demonsul Class: Broniminan Swordsman
Demonsul slumped into his chair. The Broniminan Empire was doing terribly. A massive economic crash had left the country crippled, and it was just being ignored by most of the population! Demonsul was tall, always in a black cloak when he was around his so-called subjects. He carried his sword at all times as well. Bronimina was becoming a dying culture, so he would have to work miracles to keep himself in power. But that's what he did these days, just working miracles everyday to stop the Empire flying apart. Bronimina is a huge northern landmass and a large portion of it belongs to the Broniminan Empire.
The Broniminan Empire is an ancient kingdom ruled over by the Emperor
of Bronimina, who is usually chosen by succession. The Broniminan
religion (the Old Beliefs) is left mostly unworshipped as Bronimina's
larger empire expanded across a huge area, merged with many different
cultures outside of it's official boundaries. This led to a
collapse and overhaul of Bronimina's original culture. However, since the economic crash, most of Bronimina's unofficial territories have become independent again, and Bronimina has been reduced to a single kingdom.

20:05:18 Dec 29th 08 - Prince Valan Septim:
Emperor Valan Septim was sitting on his mighty Cidellian throne. His father, Validus II, had died the month before after his horse had knocked him off. Validus was still a young 46 when he died, it was sad to see him go. Valan was still young at only twenty-five, but he was wise for his years. His beard was short and well trimmed, and his eyes were a brilliant green. His hair was brown, like that of all his ancestors. The Crown of Cidel rested upon his head, it was of a strange, unbreakable, white metal and it had a red gem set in it. It was not a ruby, but a red diamond. The crown could only be worn by a Septim, the last non-Septim to try to wear it had gone insane and killed himself. Septim sat back and looked at his steel longsword. I need a good sword...

*Continued.*
"Sir, a convoy we've sent to explore nearby lands has spotted three closeby kingdoms. One is called the Kingdom of Tasidian, Cidel, and then the Rim."
Travis and his military officials stood looking over a small map, Tyson drawing in the new lands they spotted, Kyle stood watching guard at the door, and Lyon speaking to Travis.
"Hmm," Travis pondered. "Send a convoy to each land and asked for a peace treaty, perhaps they may be friendly." "Sir," Lyon said to Travis, "To gain power, shouldn't we conquer these lands and crush them down?" "No," Travis quickly replied. "Too many times have kingdoms used fear to control the world, and also, too many times have those same kingdoms fallen. No, we will have peaceful relations."
Lyon grunted, and took a few steps back.
"Thank you all for your help in discovering new lands, you are dismissed."

Michael Deallus sat upon the throne of Tasidian. He was now king since the death of his father two weeks earlier. Cedric had been weak and ill for several months before finally dying in his sleep peacefully. Michael was glad of that. He looked out at the lands that Tasidian controlled and decided that he would leave Tasidian as peaceful as it could be for a time. He saw no need for expansion or conquest.
As Michael pondered some things until a guard walked into his room. "Milord, there is a convoy from the Reveritt Empire here to see you."
Michael stood up and walked after the guard. "I might as well see them then."
A small group from the Reveritt Empire stood before Michael and requested a peace treaty. Michael thought it over quickly. "I accept the terms of your treaty. You may also wish to visit Cidel to the north. Our kingdoms have been allied for a long time and even before I married one of the women of the ruling family."
The group left and went their own way. Michael went back to his normal duties for a short time before calling General Malcom Constintine. "General, I want you to assemble a group of twenty men to meet me outside the gates tomorrow morning. I wish to go on a journey."
General Constintine bowed and began walking out. "Yes milord."

19:17:41 Dec 31st 08 - Duke Michael Deallus:
Michael walked outside the gates of Tasidian and greeted the twenty men that were gathered there. "I am glad you men volunteered for this. I wish to first travel to the Order of Tasidian and then slowly north from there. I wish to explore the northern lands since we have rarely gone there."
The group set out and crossed the River of Tasidian as they called it, and they soon entered the townlike Order of Tasidian. They met Lord Philip Draves there, who was a relative of Jonathan Draves. Michael walked into the Order Hall with Philip while the rest of his men got some food. "Philip how has the Order been doing since my father Cedric left?"
Philip began walking up the stairs of the building towards his office. "It has been fine milord. We have grown in numbers constantly since it was founded and we have groups of men wandering all over the world hunting down criminals and evil men. They do a good job for having started out just being wanderers and common people."
The two men talked about several others things. Michael and his men left the next day and continued heading north. They came upon a large and luxurious mansion in the middle of the plains. As oddly as it seemed, Michael wished to go inside. He knocked on the great doors until an elderly man answered the door. "Greets sir, I am King Michael Deallus of the Kingdom of Tasi-"
The man cut him off. "I know who you are Michael. You do realize that your ancestors have been in his house many times before. I would have you come in and rest awhile, but I am very busy with work. I would have to talk to you at another time. So sorry."
The man shut the door in Michael's face and it did not open. Michael turned to his men with a puzzled look on his face and looked rather embarrassed. He ran his hand through his hair and thought for a moment before walking back to them. "Well...umm....that was rather rude of him to just cut me off like that and then close the door. Well, we should head north more."
The group agreed and they headed in the northern direction until they came to an old looking building made of logs. It had smoke coming from a chimney and the group decided to pay a visit. They walked in the door and saw a number of strange people within. There was also the strangest bartender he ever saw. "Welcome to the Tavern of the Three Headed Dragon! Would you care to have a Drunk's Demise?!"
The bartender randomly sucker punched one of the patrons before pouring a deadly looking drink. Michael walked over to it and sniffed at it before looking at the man next to him. The man had a similar drink and guzzled it down. He then tipped over in his seat. "Oh deary me...another dead patron...excuse me for a moment."
The bartender whistled and a man walked out of nowhere and threw the body out the window. "Sorry about that."
Michael looked over at his men and they had rather nervous looks on their faces. "Well, I think we shall be going...we really have a schedule to keep you know?"
The bartender started yelling something about sp@malot, but Michael did not hear much. He went out the door and his men ran north a short distance before resting more. "Men...this world may be more dangerous than I thought. Keep your eyes open."
The men nodded very quickly, already knowing that the world was a very crazy place.

The two convoys sent to Cidel and Tasidian returned, bearing good news, but the final convoy sent to the Rim hasn't returned for much time. Travis was growing worried, and was fearing the worst. He met with a group of men whom he knew would find out what happened.
***
Travis walked into the room, holding a small chest, and looked at the five men in front of him. The men were wearing black clothing, and had a mask surrounding their faces. Their weapons were sleeping darts, throwing knives, and a shortsword. Only one of the men looked like a trusted face, a man with a smile on his face, but the other men just sat back in the corner, covering their faces.
"Eh, why am I the only man here that is happy?" the leader of the group remarked. "Hello, I am Renad, leader of the Infiltrators." "Yes," Travis said. "Normally, I don't want to hire shifty people like those four in the back, but I don't want to start a war against the Rim. I'm hoping to get this done quietly so there is no reason to have a conflict. I am willing to pay all of you two thousand gold coins each to find out what happened to the convoy, and see if you can bring any of the convoy members back alive. You are allowed to do whatever it takes to find them. If this is not enough pay for you, please tell me." "It is enough," Renad replied. "We will leave immediantly."
The five men left, leaving Travis to himself.
***
Lyon stood in a room with twelve people, each of them having a grudge against King Leiondon.
"I brought all of you here today for a similiar cause. The king is weak, a peaceloving worm, and needs to be taken from the throne, and a true visionary to take the throne. I have you parts in the plan in the parchment I gave you. Now, all you need is my signal to execute the plan. You are dismissed."

17:54:11 Jan 1st 09 - Sir Hirgon Sadron:
The First Ambassador was the first emissary of the Kingdom of Rilienor to set foot in the Kingdom of Honor for over a century. The humans had always viewed the orcs with mistrust and disdain, despite their organized society. The Ambassador and his entourage received many an astonished look as they traveled through the Kingdom to Grandtower. At Grandtower, they were ushered into the city with great ceremony, and given audience with the King.
[[OOC: Demonsul, any words on how these sociable orcs would treat humans? At this point, either the entire entourage is murdered and the Ambassador is held hostage, or the Kingdoms of Rilienor and Honor begin a season of peace...]]
---------------------------------------------------------------
At Continuum and at Stone's Edge, ambassadors from Rilienor successfully make contact with the desert lords. Because of the positive relationships between the people of Barathor and the desert tribes (see Kingdoms of Roleplay), stronger alliances are forged by these emissaries. The Ruins of Solaz are literally ruins, and so the entourage begins its trek northward towards home, with the intent of informing the king of these ruins so that he can send explorations parties.
---------------------------------------------------------------
And then there's Darkmoor....
The last entourage crests a high hill, and a dark moor opens up before them. The Third Ambassador of Rilienor is young and bold - sometimes foolishly bold - and so he is not bothered by the menacing look of the castle on the moor. As the entourage rides into the moor, however, it becomes evident that the seasoned cavalry officer in charge of the entourage has different ideas.
"Ambassador, I don't like the look of this place. It's more than the look, actually - the air feels...evil."
"Don't be ridiculous, Captain Suiadan. I expected you to be the last person to complain about this land - gently rolling hills, open and grassy as far as the eye can see - a horseman's dream."
"Yes, it's nice enough, but there's something unclean about this place. We should have sent scouts through first, and perhaps we shouldn't be riding in the open. That fortress looks awfully dark for...blood and ashes, what was that?!"
There is a blinding flash, and all that is left of the Third Ambassador of Rilienor is a charred pile of ash laying on top of his horse's scorched saddle, and ash floating away on the light breeze. The cavalrymen and the diplomats in the entourage mill about in confusion, not hearing the Captain's urgent commands. Suiadan finally brings out his whip, and gets the attention of the entourage with sharp crack.
"We ride! Back the way we came, quick as we can!"
As they streak off the moorlands and back the way they came, some of the riders hear maniacal laughter in the light breeze off the moor...

05:28:53 Jan 3rd 09 - Mr. Salaracen The Good Dancer:
Barvorus tipped his head back, then he placed his horn in his mouth. The one noted noise had waken a sleeping watchman. As the watchman raised his head over the battlement his eyes turned from barely open and squinting to almost bulging out of his head. The site that he laid eyes upon was 6000 very muscly, barely clothed men, holding axes and wearing helmets.
"BARBARIAN ATTACK!!!" The man got up immediately and ran over to an emergency bell. "Stop!" Barvous shouted and the man stopped before he rung the bell. "We mean no harm, I would like passage through you're lands so that I may talk to your lord or leader!" There was a long awkward silence. Barvorus wondered if was a good idea to set up trade relations with the Broniminans.
|
11:27:54 Jan 3rd 09 - Sir Karzun Demonsul:
[[Hirgon, the Kingdom of Honor is honorable. Chivalry is their highest priority, and all that. They behave like headstrong knights mostly. If you don't attack them and help them attack the surrounding 'Barbarian Kingdoms' as they call them, they will treat you with respect and, well, honor.]]
Demonsul was relieved and ecstatic. He had managed to pull Bronimina out of it's economic nosedive and avert the biggest crisis in Broniminan history. With time to spare, he began to spend more time with his wife, and only administrated Bronimina to increase it's power. One day, a report came back from the border that a group of barbarians wished to talk to him. "Send message that they send one diplomatic envoy, and he must come unarmed," he responded. Bronimina needed trade right now, as although the economy was stable, it was crippled, and any cash flow would help it.

Farathor is a civilization that has except for on some historic occasions rarely come into contact with other kingdoms. It’s location atop and underneath the heavily forested Great Olkait Mountains has ensured that it’s presence has gone virtually unnoticed through the ages.
Name : Adam Raina Age : 31 Sons : Himanil and Marcus
Adam raised his bloody sword in he setting sun. From as far as the eye could see right till the Wall of Azalth a massive roar went up from his army. 'Finally' thought Adam 'It's over.'
Adam paced about in his chamber, it had taken him 4 years to subjugate the rebellion started by his general Quisling in conjunction with barbarians whose identity he had not yet been able to ascertain. He summoned his Foreign Minister 'I wish for envoys to be sent to the kingdoms of Tasidian, Cidel, Bronimia, Rilienor, Reverrit and the empire in the Great Barren Desert with proposals of peace, no matter what they are to be found and a response is to be obtained.' 'Yes my Lord,' replied the minster bowing low. Adam dismissed him and started thinking.
The mighty war was over and now he would concentrate on revitalising his economy which had been affected by Bronimia's economic meltdown and he also turned his attention to the rumours of a Dark Lord and he also had to ascertain where the barbarians had come from.

~The Gates of Cidel~
"Ehh, so what's this about games?"
Travis and a group of his finest soldiers, his best knight, his best rider, although, riders in the Reveritt Republic were not the best, and Travis, the best archer in amny countries.
"My lord," the Knight exclaimed, "Tournaments are the most honourable things in the world. You fight against all of the soldiers present, and then claim your honour as the champion of the tournament!" "...erm," Travis said. "Treville, will there be contests of archery, perhaps?" "Probably," Treville said. "No offense, my king-" "Just call me Travis." Travis hated being treated like the most important person in the world. He was a man and he was mortal, what difference is can you have from other humans? A King is the same as a slave in the end. "Travis, in most tournaments, you gain the most honour in swordplay, not archery. It is considered a... cowardly way of fighting to some people." "I care not what some people think of me, I care for what they do not think of."
The great gates of Cidel extend in front of him, and Travis sighs in relief.
"Could've sworn that I miscalculated the map again," Travis muttered. "Squire, send the message to King Septim. The Reveritt Republic will participate in the games."

Two guards stood at the end of a street at Command, talking to each other.
"Hey, you heard of that stuff that man was working on back there?" one guard said to the other. "That black stuff that smells strong? Bleh, he calls it coffee too. What kinda name is coffee, eh?" "Haha! What a bum. Kinda like them Reveritt Republic folks, e-"
The two men fell over, unconscious, after their necks were pierced with a sleeping dart, and five men crawled off the rooftops and examined the two men. A tall man grabbed a bit of parchment and read it.
"I got it, they aren't in the capital," the man said. "Dammit," Renad swore. "That means we'll have to search the other towns. Almost every single settlement in the desert."
"Not quite," another man said. "This paper has shows the location of five survivors of the convoy, the Gulch prison."
"Well, let's get to work. Gulch isn't that far from here. Let's move out of the city and finish the job."

Septim smiled and soon returned to his palace, where he decided to begin his research on a legendary sword named Firengard.

Michael woke up to one of his generals waking him. It turned to to be General Farlen Argos. "What is it general? ugh..." grumbled Michael as he crawled out of bed. "Messengers and envoys from other kingdoms wish to speak to you milord." spoke General Argos.
Michael got dressed quickly and walked to the throne room where a line of people were. "Attention everyone. I am willing to accept all alliances with your kingdoms. Simply write down what kingdom you are from and the name of your king before you leave." said Michael as he held up a large piece of parchment. "Tasidian is a country of peace and enlightenment so if you wish for military support, it will be difficult for me to send out any troops unless it is a matter that affects the world as a whole." spoke the young king. He sat the parchment on a wooden table before sitting on the throne. He tried remember what he had been doing before he woke up this morning. *Two Weeks Earlier*
Michael led his group of twenty men northward still, with a great mountain ahead of them. Before they reached the mountain they found a great castle in front of it. There were a large number of men running around shouting the words. "For Sp@malot!" over and over while attacking soldiers shouting other words. They engaged in a great battle, slaughting thousands of men on each side until only a few remained. Then suddenly more armies appeared and the slaughter continued.
"This place must be some sort of cursed land." Michael spoke to his men. "We shall head around the mountain along the coast. I do not wish to meet the king of this place." he said as he turned towards the southeast. His men walked for four days until they finally passed by the mountain. They came to a strange building by a strange land and walked inside.

As Barvorus entered the kingdom known as Bronimia with his small group of impressively buff body guards (Not carrying weapons) he noted many things. One, was the use of roads, something that was almost impossible to produce in the arctic wilderness without a long settled empire.
Finally he made it to the imperial palace. So Gorr organised his men to show off their wares. Firstly Barvorus showed Demonsul the fine fur hunted from the arctic bears of the most northern points of the ice expanse. These massive pelts would keep any man warm anywhere. Secondly, a large horse like beast was brought out. It was covered from head to toe in thick matted fur, had rather large horns and large hooves designed in such a manner that they worked perfectly for running through arctic tundra and over ice. Barvorus had a few other things left, but decided to see what the Bronimia empire had to offer before he showed them off.

17:13:39 Jan 7th 09 - Sir Karzun Demonsul:
Demonsul saw all that the barbarians showed him with little interest. The pelts were already being made in Ridgeline, they were of common use in the Empire. However, the supply had not met demand recently, so the pelts would come in handy. The ice beast, however, made him sit up and take notice. It had been assumed extinct, ever since the farms of them in Aiysm were destroyed by invaders a hundred years ago. Demonsul decided that these barbarians would not want Broniminan coinage, so he had to find something to trade. "I like what you propose, but I must ask, what do you want in return? You would find little use for our coins outside of our boundaries, so what is it you wish to trade for?" he asked.

23:34:57 Jan 7th 09 - Sir Delran Silver:
Constable Delran De Silver was sitting at his desk in The Silver Moon Palace, writing a few orders for the army, when a messenger bursted in. "Sir....., y...y...you are ne...needed at....... The Imperial Palace! It....... is.....ur........ urgent!" "What happened?" "The.....e..e..em...emperor........." Hearing this, Delran left his office running. He went to the stables, saddled his horse in a hurry and stormed out of his palace followed by several of his body guards. The arrived at The Imperial Palace within a few minutes and the horses fell under some of the riders. Derlan never minded that and stormed in the palace. He was greeted by General Roch, commander of the Imperial Guards. "Constable!" "General! What happened?" "The emperor is in agony" said Roch with a sad face. "The healers say that he will die by the end of the day." "Are you making a bad joke on me? Yesterday the emperor was fine! What is this?" "It is not a bad joke I am afraid. The emperor wake up in the morning feeling ill. By the time of noon he was feeling worse. The healers were called since the morning but they couldn't do much." "And why haven't I been informed?" "Imperial order. You were not to be disturbed." "And why now?" "He called for you." Delran ran to the chambers of the emperor. When he entered there, the emperor was laid in his bed and healers were swarming arround him. Four guards were inside the room. Also several household nobles and advisors. At the sight of Delran, the emperor ordered everyone out, even the guards. "Your Majesty!" "Come Constable!" Delran approached the imperial bed with a sad feeling. Seeing his emperor like that was like a knife through his heart. "I am dying, my friend!" "No, you are not, Your Majesty! If you die what will happen to the Empire? We need you! You are to young to die!" "Nonsense. When your time comes, you are never to young!" said the emperor with a smile. "After my death you will become Regent of Andoria and Lord Protector. Wait 10 years for the return of my brother or his sons. If they do not come, crown yourself emperor. You are young, strong and smart, you will do good. The people love you, the soldiers would follow you to hell. And know this!" "I will wait my entire life for one of your relatives to come, Your Majesty." said Delran with a sad voice. "But you must not talk like that. The healers will fix you up." "No! I know my time is up!" After these words, the emperor fell unconscious. Delran opened the doors and rushed for the healers. "I will make you all nobles if you heal the emperor, but if he dies, you die in the torture chamber and your corpses will be fed to pigs!" The healers rushed in the chamber but their efforts were useless. After two hours the emperor regained consciousness and looked arround him. Hid guards were at their places, the healers were arround his bed and near the walls were nobles and officers. Among them was Delran. "Constable!" the emperor cryed with his last powers. "After my death you are the Regent of Andoria and Lord Protector. Wait 10 years for one of my relatives to come for the crown, after that crown yourself emperor!" With these words, the emperor died. Those in the chamber were shocked. The healers went pale, some of the officers and nobles had tears in their eyes. Most of them were looking at Delran. One tear fell from Delran's eyes to the floor. H walked towards the imperial bed, knelt and kissed the emperors hand. After this he went outside. General Roch followed him. "Your orders Lord Protector!" "Make preparation for the Emperor's funeral. Give the healers 100 gold coins and send them home. That would be all." said Delran with a low tone and sad voice. "And call me Constable!" "And about the Imperial Household and Guard? Will you be moving into the Imperial Palace or we will come to The Silver Moon Palace?" "The Imperial Household and Imperial Guard will remain at the Imperial Palace to wait for an heir to the crown. I do not belong here. My place is at The Silver Moon Palace!" With these words, Delran left the Imperial Palace with his guards and headed for his home.

08:01:50 Jan 9th 09 - Mr. Himanil V:
Adam watched as the last of his empire disappeared in the horizon, turning back he ran an eye through his busy crew and then he eyed the waters with a bit of mistrust before retiring to his cabin. It would take them quite a few days to reach Bronimia, in the meantime he studied all that they were going to take there to trade, the only reason he was going there was because he had heard that the climate, lands and maybe even the people were much like them. Sitting back he drowsed off into troubled dreams, still lost in his future plans all the while there was a yet unidentified worry nagging somewhere in his mind.

00:11:47 Jan 10th 09 - Mr. Travis Leiondon:
Outside the manor of King Travis, Leon and a group of men were standing there, looking shifty and dangerous. Leon began to speak, staring at the manor.
"Due to his departing to Cidel, we have been outfitted with a great opportunity to seize power and take over the country We will barge in, kill the guards, and hold his family in prison. We will then announce that King Travis was killed by Cidellian soldiers on his way to the tournament, and that we will strike at once, conquering those lands."
"Wait," one of the men said. "If King Travis were to return, he would have us all killed!"
"Who ever said 'King' Travis will ever return?" Leon answered, a gleam of evil shining in his eyes. "Prepare to barge the doors open and take the manor."

"...May I ask why the rent is THAT high!?"
Travis, Treville, and Percival stood in an Inn, waiting to rent a room.
"Excuse me, sir, but as this is one of the most prestige inns in the city, it is completely worth the pay." The Innkeeper smiled after he finished speaking. "All we wanted were three small rooms to borrow for a couple of day!" Travis exclaimed.
Treville tried to calm his King. "Sir, please, be calm. I'm sure we can find a better deal somewhere else."
"Pfft," The Innkeeper snorted. "You won't find any better Inn than this one. Even if you are a King, you still have to pay for rent." "Gah!" Travis said. "I'd rather sleep in a tent than be in the Inn of such a pig of an Innkeeper." "Pig I may be, are you going to pay or not?" "I'd rather sleep in the run down shack across the street than here." "Actually, I own that too. Tis where I keep my livestock." "Ohh, forget it. Fine, have your gold."
Travis dropped a large amount of gold coins onto the table and walked away, snatching the keys from the sinister man's hand.
Shortly after the small episode, three other men taking part in the tournament walked up to the Innkeeper.
"Hello, we would like to rent three small rooms to sleep in for a few nights," the man said. "Okay, that'll be a mere two silver coins."
