Kings and Tyrants
00:18:12 Jan 2nd 09 - Mr. Travis Leiondon:

Kings and Tyrants
The point of the game is to conquer as much of the world as you can, whether through peaceful means or acts of war.  One of the ways you can conquer the lands is by searching the world for uncharted islands and make your kingdom/empire last.

GUIDE (Will be updated as time goes on.)
You start off with a town under your control and a small force of 50 troops.  You also have 2000 gold.  You will serve under one of the kingdoms.  It will be at random, of course, which contry you start out in, but you may at one point take over the country which you live in. [Note: No one starts off in Peragia.]
Exploration of the world is important, as you need new lands to support the growing population.  When you are in a time of peace, it is advisable to search the seas.
Also, each real-life day is four months.

Now, the important stuff you really need to know.

Settlements:
Village - first stage of a settlement, costs 500 gold to found.
Town - second stage of a settlement, costs 2000 gold to upgrade.  Everyday, you get 50 gold each town.
City - last stage of a settlement, costs 7500 gold to upgrade. Everyday, you get 100 gold each city.

Soldiers - costs 50 gold to hire them.
Only one type, I would go insane calculating the battles.

Battles are based on chance and number.  If the two forces are even matched, I'll flip a coin and see who wins.

Naval:
Small Ship - Can hold 50 troops or men, used mostly for travelling short distances, like in island chains. 500 Gold
Large Ship - Can hold 500 troops or men, used mostly for patroling areas. 5000 Gold
Invasion Battleship - Can hold 5000 troops or men, used for invasions. 75000 Gold
The "Explorer" - Holds a crew of men sent on exploration ventures.  25000 Gold.

You will be using this map. OMGEH!

Sign up, don't worry about character sheets, I'm doing that part.

01:33:22 Jan 2nd 09 - Duke Michael Deallus:

Sorry, I like the idea and map...but I just cannot do these "build cities, train troops, and conquer" RP/Games anymore...I am sure others would like it.  I can really only do Story RPs.....

09:41:03 Jan 2nd 09 - Sir Karzun Demonsul:

Simple...I think this might restore my faith in empire games.

Very well...I'm in.

15:20:48 Jan 2nd 09 - Mr. Killer:

  1. Demonsul
  2. Killer

16:26:46 Jan 2nd 09 - Mr. Electric:

  1. Demonsul
  2. Killer
  3. Electric

[[I really need to stop signing up for every RP I see]]

16:37:44 Jan 2nd 09 - Mr. Dethos:

  1. Demonsul
  2. Killer
  3. Electric
  4. Dethos

I'll try to stay on it.

17:07:40 Jan 2nd 09 - Sir Karzun Demonsul:

*practices swordplay for when the RP starts

18:36:48 Jan 2nd 09 - Mr. Travis Leiondon:

[[Note:  I made this EXTREMELLY EASY for you, be grateful.  My previous idea had a lot of statistics... that I would have to calculate.]]

One more person and we'll start today, if not, we'll still start today. :-P

18:39:24 Jan 2nd 09 - Duke Michael Deallus:

[[I told you it wasn't bad Travis...you fool...I just have issues with RPs that possibly set PlayerVSplayer because no one can agree on who wins what.  That is why I will never do another RP like Prominence or an empire building RP again.  I do story RPs because I can make it one side vs another(of NPCs)  The Last Day was a bad mistake and it was found out pretty obviously]]

18:42:07 Jan 2nd 09 - Mr. Travis Leiondon:

[[I thought it was bad...you fool.  I pity the foo'!]]

BTW, can you four people state whether you are good or evil?

18:43:25 Jan 2nd 09 - Sir Karzun Demonsul:

Evil.

And on the account of the Last Day, I accept half of the responsibility for the failure.

Delran gets the other half.

19:04:18 Jan 2nd 09 - Mr. Dethos:

Good I allways want to be good.

19:09:14 Jan 2nd 09 - Duke Michael Deallus:

[[The Last Day failure was basically because I made the mistake of putting players vs players...I have found that it screws up more RPs than anything without a good combat system in place, and that takes stats and other BS]]

23:33:23 Jan 2nd 09 - Mr. Killer:

I don't care whether I'm good or evil. I'll even it out(so, the opposite of whatever Electric picks)

02:41:43 Jan 3rd 09 - Mr. Electric:

I'm whatever Killer is :P

04:19:39 Jan 3rd 09 - Mr. Selos II:

im in

11:31:22 Jan 3rd 09 - Sir Karzun Demonsul:

Come on Michael, this has less stats than Shadowbane. Join up.

(in shadowbane we needed to pick two limiting factors, the skills. As revealed when Sal changed his skill, you are very careful as to what these allow and what the results are. Here, the only factors are just money and men.)

15:40:54 Jan 3rd 09 - Mr. Killer:

Right, Selos, pick whether your good or bad, and I'll be the opposite of that.

00:25:39 Jan 4th 09 - Mr. Travis Leiondon:

*Travis stares at his watch.*

"Hmm, I have a wierd sense of TODAY!" :-D

TOMMOROW, THIS STARTS FOR SURE.  Either it starts or it dies, it better start. :-P

00:29:39 Jan 4th 09 - Sir Hirgon Sadron:

Argh, I really want to put my name down...but...

12:05:07 Jan 4th 09 - Sir Karzun Demonsul:

But what? Put it down, state your alignment, and leave if you end up hating it...

20:55:34 Jan 5th 09 - Mr. Electric:

[[OOC:TRAVIS!!!]]

21:00:55 Jan 5th 09 - Sir Hirgon Sadron:

That works.  I'll be...erhm...whatever we need to make things even.

  1. Demonsul
  2. Killer
  3. Electric
  4. Dethos
  5. Hirgon

21:03:07 Jan 5th 09 - Mr. Killer:

*coughs*

Is Selos playing? I suppose I'll be evil...

21:03:42 Jan 5th 09 - Mr. Electric:

I'm good :D

21:07:53 Jan 5th 09 - Mr. Killer:

Hmmm... looks like you'll have to choose Hirgon...

21:09:19 Jan 5th 09 - Sir Hirgon Sadron:

Well then...can I be chaotic neutral?

I do that to stop people from godmodding.  I have to know WHAT he can do or he would have a limitless number of spells he could do.  If I said my skill was magic...what KIND of magic? I could use anything I wanted if I just left it so general.  I try to do everything possible to keep godmodding from my RPs, but I am not going to be making anymore for awhile.

21:18:59 Jan 5th 09 - Sir Karzun Demonsul:

As these numbers stop you godmodding infinite money and troops. What's your point?

01:59:38 Jan 6th 09 - Duke Michael Deallus:

I don't like Player vs player RPs anyways -_-

16:41:16 Jan 6th 09 - Sir Karzun Demonsul:

Point duly noted. CAN WE START NOW!?

17:31:20 Jan 6th 09 - Mr. Stickman:

Im in. ;p

And im gunna be so f**king evil

  1. Demonsul
  2. Killer
  3. Electric
  4. Dethos
  5. Hirgon
  6. Stickman

17:52:29 Jan 6th 09 - Sir Karzun Demonsul:

Stickman, will you ally me so we may crush the world together and then turn on each other when we rule it all?

00:13:42 Jan 7th 09 - Mr. Travis Leiondon:

God just loves making me take back my words. >_<

This starts when I have time.

02:52:49 Jan 7th 09 - Mr. Stickman:

I will consider it. but my own agenda comes first.

16:44:16 Jan 10th 09 - Mr. Travis Leiondon:

  1. Demonsul - Evil - Controls the small town of Snowy Isle.  2000 gold.
  2. Killer - Evil - Controls the small town of Jein-Oela.  2000 gold.
  3. Electric - Good - Controls the small town of Pervila.  2000 gold.
  4. Dethos - Good - Controls the small town of the Desert Outpost.  2000 gold.
  5. Hirgon - Good - Controls the small town of Porlos.  2000 gold.
  6. Stickman - Evil - Controls the small town of Tailia.  2000 gold.

Alright, you have everything you need to know already, let's (finally) get this started. :-)  At the end of the day, I will give the day's (month's) outcome for all of you.

BTW, if you choose to make towns, you MUST start off with only a village, than upgrade as you go.

16:49:18 Jan 10th 09 - Sir Karzun Demonsul:

Okay, first course of action.

Found two villages on surrounding lands, and name them East and West. Put them on the coasts. Then train 20 men and send 25 men to each village. Keep the remaining 30 in Snowy Isle.

16:52:49 Jan 10th 09 - Sir Delran Silver:

[OOC: Can I join?]

  1. Demonsul
  2. Killer
  3. Electric
  4. Dethos
  5. Hirgon
  6. Stickman
  7. Delran
[OOC: I want to be good. Put me random on kingdoms.]

17:06:07 Jan 10th 09 - Mr. Dethos:

Found one village on the west side of the mouth of the river to the east of my town. Train 20 men and sent 25 men to village. Sent 15 men exploring around my town if i can and 30 men stay at Desert Outpost.

17:42:43 Jan 10th 09 - Mr. Killer:

'Bout time. :)

Ok... We have a town already, the circles, yes? I'm guessing the squares are cities? Then what is the symbol for a village?

Founding a village NW of Jein-Oela on the end of the peninsula, called Tein-Oela. Founding another village SW of Jein-Oela, near the rocky/mountain bit, called Kein-Oela. Hire twenty soldiers, put 20 in Tein-Oela and Kein-Oela, and 30 soldiers in Jein-Oela.

00:37:40 Jan 11th 09 - Sir Hirgon Sadron:

Building one small ship and training 30 soldiers.  Out of my 80 soldiers, 50 stay in the village, 10 explore the island (staying in a group and staying out of trouble), and 20 are sent across the sea to Seria.  Upon reaching Seria, they are to ask the Emperor for an audience, and try to persuade him to fund exploration ventures.

01:00:48 Jan 11th 09 - Mr. Electric:

Found 1 village, build two small ships, load 15 men on each boat. 20 men stay in village. One boat goes to the small volcanic island where they found the village, named Mergaval. Other boat goes to Woodland outpost and go from there to the capital to ask for money for war purposes.

07:05:57 Jan 11th 09 - Mr. Stickman:

Train 10 troops, send 40 north on the island and found 1 village at the coast named Sei. Then build 1 naval ship carrying 20 of the 40 men SE to the very end of the ark creating the bay near Port Sea Bass, and found another village named Mei. then send 10 men to Port Sea Bass to speak to the tribe elders for naval funding.

[Lets rock]

22:22:28 Jan 11th 09 - Mr. Travis Leiondon:

[[Holy sh**, why is it everytime I promise to do something, I tempt fate to stop me from doing it? >_<]]

Demonsul - 70 troops (not 85, cheater. :-P) and 50 gold.
Towns - Snowy Isle - 20 troops present in town.  Gain 50 gold a day.
Village - East - 25 troops present in village.  West - 25 troops present in village.
Report:  After spending a large amount of gold, he settled two villages.  Currently, he can train one... royal guard? I dunno, you can't get much with 50 gold.

Killer - 70 troops and 50 gold.
Towns - Jein-Oela - 30 troops present in town.  Gain 50 gold a day.
Villages - Kein-Oela - 20 troops present in village.  Tein-Oela - 20 troops present in village.
Report:  After a long day, two new villages were settled, and most of the money is now gone from their reserves.  Some insane people living in crates are cursing Killer, however, for only changing the letters of the first word for the two new villages.

Electric - 50 troops and 550 gold.
Towns - Pervila - 20 troops present in town.  Gain 50 gold a day.
Villages - Mergaval - 15 troops and Small Ship Wreckage present in village.
Report:  You are extremelly lucky.  When the creator of this game said the boats can travel short distances, he MEANT it.  Your one ship sent to colonize was destroyed.  However, most of the ship, crew, and supplies washed up on your destination, and you were able to settle a town.  The wreckage has also been deemed salvageable and could settle another village for free.  On a different ship, which you thankfully allowed to sail close to land, was able to arrive in Woodland Outpost, and made you way to Seria.   ...They laugh in your face when you ask for money and kick you out.  It is a very smart idea to get loans from you OWN country.  Also, due to the fact you tried to rely on foreign money, your country less respects you.

Dethos - 70 troops and 550 gold.
Towns - Desert Outpost - 30 troops present in town.  Gain 50 gold a day.
Villages - (Unnamed) - 25 troops present in village.
Report:  After being chewwed out for not naming the village, you gain some peace and quiet.  Your 15 men searching around the town found something extremelly facinating: sand.

Hirgon - 80 troops and 130 gold.
Towns - Porlos - 50 troops present in town.  Gain 50 gold a day.
Report:  After training quite a few troops, your ship sent to Seria successfully manages to persuade the Dictator to speak to you.  After an extremelly long conference, which yo ualmost fall asleep twice in, you manage to gain 25000 gold.  The rules of the loan are that you are to use it only for explorational ventures, and that you must pay double the amount four years from now (12 days.)

Stickman - 60 troops and 550 gold.
Towns - Tailia - 20 troops standing idle waiting for orders.  Gain... you know well what you can get, I've already said it five times. >_>
Villages - Sei - 20 troops present in village.  Mei - 10 troops present in village.
Report:  Everything going smoothly, although the small boat you built is very worn, you gain audience with the Cheiftain of the Sea Whale tribe, and, due to being joined in the Kergon merchant chain, has plenty of money, and throws you a sack on two conditions: you travel to Kergon and join the merchant exchange, and give him back double the amount in four years (12 days.)

Delran, sorry, but I can't handle more than 6 people in an RP.  Too much work to do.

Will update map when I have a chance to, Killer, tiny dots represent villages, which there are none currently on the old map.
~Travis~

BTW, no one is allowed to do anything today, due to my lateness.  Everything will go back to normal tommorow.

05:14:26 Jan 12th 09 - Mr. Stickman:

[ How much did the chieften give me?]

17:13:18 Jan 12th 09 - Mr. Stickman:

[Assuming i recieved around the same funds as Hirgon]

Purchase 1 Explorer; Train 10 men; Load the ship with all units excluding 5 men in each village. Send the remaining 55 troops to sail west twords Port Tundra. While in the Polar Bear Tribe, sail from village to village trading and increasing relations.

17:53:10 Jan 12th 09 - Sir Karzun Demonsul:

Okay, send ten men from each village on treasure hunts.

17:53:54 Jan 12th 09 - Mr. Stickman:

[In the arctic?]

18:07:35 Jan 12th 09 - Sir Karzun Demonsul:

[[It would work in Bronimina...]]

14:50:05 Jan 13th 09 - Sir Hirgon Sadron:

Build the "Explorer." Send it with its crew (which will be 45 soldiers if I have to crew it myself) westward, to see what they can find, and to search for treasure and other people.

The 20 soldiers on the mainland head back to base on the itsy-bitsy boat, and 10 soldiers on the isle continue to search for stuff.
