00:55:16 May 26th 10 - King Ernest Deallus The Wise:
Aldorias was a large and diverse continent on the planet of Alras. There were vast deserts, forests of beauty, danger, and unknown creatures, wide open plains and savannas, arctic wastelands, deadly bogs and swamps, and mountains that seemingly touched the sky. It was a land where the ruins of ancient empires were laid to rest, where small and young kingdoms rose up in the ashes, and where religions both flourished and clashed with each other. On this continent was a land referred to as Rencana. It rested to the north on the border between the frigid and snowy wastelands and the Golden Hills that dotted the area. Within this land was an order of men known as Templar. These men are not like the knights or paladins from other lands. They are born naturally with enhanced abilities due to their surroundings. All Templar have an affinity to a certain kind of magic. Also, fully matured Templar have been known to use their magic to enhance their own physical abilities so that they can jump twenty feet high and run one hundred yards in five seconds. The growth process is not easy, as not all Templar reach that level. It has been studied and researched by many scholars and mages, but none of these learned men could discover the secrets. The Rencanian Templar are known for being the dedicated rivals to the cult known as the Children of Severio. The cult is infamous for studying demonic and dark magic in order to satisfy their bloodlust and worship of their god, Severio. The Rencanian Templar struck a great victory against the cultists in a large battle, and there was peace for a time. However, one hundred years later, they were to clash again.

“We are under attack by unknown enemies! There must be hundreds of them!” yelled a guard when he made it to his captain. “What?! Order all men to the walls and defend the castle!” replied the captain. He then raced to the small castle’s top floor where he found Lord Valen awake after hearing the alarms. “My lord, unknown enemies are attacking the castle. Several of my men will wait here to protect you,” reported the captain. Four guards that had been following him, stayed by the lord’s side as the captain ran off to lead his men. Outside the castle walls, unknown men dressed in strange clothing were firing arrows while some had formed a strange circle just out of range of the castle archers. “What is name of the gods are they doing?” muttered one of the castle guards as he watched them. Strange purple and red light then appeared where the circle was formed and it made the guard terrified. The eight men who had formed the circle suddenly fell to the ground and their bodies were torn to pieces as a large and horrible creature was formed from their remains. It stood around ten feet tall and resembled nothing that the guards had ever seen. It gave a terrifying roar and then slowly moved towards the castle walls. The guards began firing arrows at it and it roared in pain, but it still managed to raise its fist and smash the wall repeatedly. While the guards were occupied with the large demonic monstrosity, the other attackers began forming smaller circles and summoning smaller demons that began climbing up the outside of the walls. Within five minutes, the walls had been abandoned and the large demon had smashed a large hole clear through the wall. Bodies of guards and small demon-like hounds were scattered across the castle grounds as the desperate battle continued. A large man clad in even more strange robes and a headdress entered the castle grounds and lifted a staff above his head. The bodies of the dead guards then lifted themselves from the ground and began joining the attack against the men who were once their comrades as revived corpses. It was a pitiful sight to behold as every last guard was hunted down and butchered. Lord Valen could only watch from the top of his small castle as the demons forced their way through the gates and into his home. Before the demons could come to claim him, he committed suicide with a dagger. The Children of Severio finished clearing the castle of resistance before their leader found the dead lord and laughed. He then carved a symbol in the dead lord and chanted a few words. Lord Valen then returned as many of his guards did, to serve Severio. “Go now…and bring chaos to the land,” said the cultist leader. The guards and Lord Valen himself then marched off to find another land to attack. The cultists left blasphemous carvings and symbols all over the castle as their demons raced off into the dark night to hunt for more food. The cultists then split their forces into smaller groups and began to search for new lands to bring chaos to in the southern lands of Aldorias.

This is an idea I had floating around my head. I had an idea before but Septim had something similar so I dropped it. Then I blended it with two other ideas I had and this is what I have. Basically 1/6th of the population of Rencana are born with the ability to become mages or Templar. If anyone has any comments or suggestions, please let me know.
Use the options that I filled in already if you are interested.
Name: Age: (Under age 21) Rank: Initiate(Meaning, you are in the process of becoming a Templar. Affinity: (Pick a single element - Fire, Ice, Lightning, Earth, etc. Will review the choice) Weapon: Initiate simple steel longsword or Simple maple bow Armor: Steel chainmail Description: (Physical description of your character). Short Bio: Just a little info. All Templar are recruited by age 16-18 and start as initiates until age 21 or so, so don't make yourself 35 and a master please.
MY Character(If enough people are interested).
Name: Edward Hildebandt Age: 21 Rank: Apprentice Affinity: Lightning Weapon: Apprentice steel longsword Armor: Steel scalemail Description: Edward is 6ft tall, has black hair and hazel eyes, and has an athletic build. Short Bio: Edward was the son of a templar master who had died of an illness shortly after he was born. Fueled by the desire to become like his father and his natural born abilities, he was recruited by the Rencanian Templar. His initiation involved him having to travel far from the lands of Rencana and recovering a lost Templar artifact from some ruins before he was attacked by a small group of cultists who had been using the ruins as their home. After returning, Edward was given a new weapon and armor to suit his position. Then he was given the rank of Apprentice, which gave him the responsibility of acting as a guide to new initiates.

Oh and I want no more than 4 people(myself included) since it is a real pain with larger numbers. So...you can reserve a spot if you wish.

17:19:07 May 26th 10 - Sir Karzun Demonsul:
Name: Dominik Baxter Age: 19 Rank: Initiate Affinity: Light Weapon:
Initiate simple steel longsword Armor: Steel
chainmail Description: Tall, but with a young face and matching enthusiasm. Visibly quite physically weak, but fast on his feet. Short
Bio: Born the son of a prominent priest of the land, Dominik grew up in an extremely religious environment and devoutly worships the five gods of creation. The fact that he believes in a non-mainstream religion has earned him ridicule, and he is known to become enraged if people taunt his beliefs. The Templars recruited him after he unwittingly utilized his powers to create a firework on festival day (don't ask why, it was an accident and he considers it embarrassing). Still very new to the Templars and knows little of them.

18:45:15 May 26th 10 - Mr. Erunion Telcontar:
Name: Hanno Meridius Age: 17 Rank: Initiate Affinity: (I have some ideas, but it all depends how creative we are allowed to be in using the magic system) Weapon:
Initiate simple steel longsword Armor: Steel
chainmail Description: 6 foot, 160 pounds. Slim and fit, athletic but not muscular. Had dark (but not quite black) hair and startlingly blue eyes set in a youthful face. Short
Bio: Hanno is the son of the renowned fighter Teralus Meridius. He learned combat and theory at his fathers feet, and as a consequence is a very fast, flexible and intelligent fighter. His skills with weapons are only fair, however, as Hanno quickly realized his true talent lay elsewhere. Hanno is a genius, incredibly intelligent and inventive, he voraciously devours any and all information he can, and has already postulated theories that have woken up the scientific community of his day. His family is prominent and wealthy, and Hanno received the best education the land could offer. When he joined the Templar at sixteen, his family was very proud of their boy.
{Quick question, what level of technology are we talking about here? Dark ages? (500-1000 AD) Medieval? (1000-1350) Renaissance? (1350-1600). The latter seems likely from what you have written, and I think it would work best. }

19:10:41 May 26th 10 - Mr. Ixil:
Name: Darius Gregory Hammond Age: 17 Rank: Initiate Affinity: Air Weapon: Initiate simple steel longsword Armor: Leather scalemail(allows for better movement, but lesser defense) Description: Darius is of average build, just under 6 feet and physically fit. He has dark black hair which he keeps cut relatively short, and wears a variety of clothing, but always with a black armband around his wrist, especially in defiance of the conformity of certain uniforms. Short Bio: Darius's father was a Templar of medium rank and ability, and focused largely in physical augmentation with his magic. When Darius first showed magical ability his father quickly set about pushing him to take the same path. While he was able to eventually convince him to accept recruitment into the Templar, despite Darius's distate for the rules and conformity they required, he was never able to push Darius to focus on his body. Darius's talent with magic lied with the air. He much preferred to spend time studying how to use the air to attack or defend himself rather than learning how to physically attack or defend. Ultimately he joined the Templar for pragmatic reasons. They could teach him, and he wanted to learn. he could follow their ideology well enough, even if their rules irked him. Without the Templar he would never have been able to study his interests nearly as efficiently, so he accepted recruitment.

Alright that looks like it. No more people please.
@Erunion - I want people to try and choose one element to start, but from looking at the group I have here: Rhade, Demonsul, myself, and you, I don't think godmoding will be a problem. Keep in mind of your age and how experienced you are. I believe that being able to use your abilities on 1-2 enemies at your level is fine and don't worry, we will go through some time, which means you will become more skilled. My character will act as your "slightly more skilled" helper since I have just finished my initiation.
@Erunion(again) - The time period is not well defined. The quality of equipment that you receive depends upon your position(again). An initiate would not be given the best weapons and armor because...if they die...it is a waste. I could say that we are in the late middle age timeperiod and that after the rank of Apprentice, you are allowed to choose a second weapon to take with you.(Another sword, a short spear, polearm, bow, etc).
The rankings would be as follows: Initiate, Apprentice, Templar Knight, Paladin, Templar Master, Grandmaster(The head of the Templar).
I am rather busy today, so if you have any questions, feel free to post them here. I will work on the intro post tomorrow(thursday).

21:52:54 May 26th 10 - Emperor Gaius Septimus Cidellus:
Name: Silvanos Calamon Age: 18 Rank: Initiate Affinity: Fire Weapon: Steel longsword Armor: Steel chainmail Description: Of average height and athletic build, Silvanus has the build of a soldier. He is very friendly, and usually forms strong bonds with those around him. His skin has a darker tan than most, and his hair is thick and dark brown. He has a thick accent, though he has never stated where he is from. Short Bio: Silvanus was born in a distant land to lower-class parents. His father was a travelling merchant, and his mother was a cook. He spent most of his childhood and teenage years travelling the roads until his parents reached Rencana, hoping to sell their wares. In the capital, Silvanus's accidental discovery of his powers caused a smithy to burn down. Instead of being imprisoned, he was questioned by the Templars and inducted into their order as an Initiate. Silvanus's parents supported the "punishment", as they had always desired a better life for their son.
