Tales from Carrothia
08:17:25 Feb 7th 09 - Demonic Bald Lemur God:

Rise of the Bald Lemur God

Deep from within the Carrothian wyvern woods, a slight disturbance was to be noticed. Strange sounds echoed between the trees at night and a weird glow was to be noticed in the darkness filling these woods. Woodland creatures slowly started to disappear, soon after nearby towns abandoned overnight leaving no trace of its inhabitants.

When an expedition of mages, peasants and soldiers send out to investigate the matter finally arrived at the wyvern woods, they were astonished to witness a dark spire towering above the tree line in the distance. The whole forest was suspiciously quiet and radiated with evil and as soon as the expedition ventured further into the forest, it all went horribly wrong.

The deeper the expedition stumbled through the rough, the more they became noticed by the new rulers of these woods. Bloodshed eyes followed their every move, awaiting that one specific order from their leader. Not soon after, the expedition arrived at what seemed to be a small lake. Plagued with thirst due to carrying the materials needed for the expedition, a few of the peasants ran towards it and devoured the water. Within seconds they all started to vomit and as if struck by insanity they ran off into the wilderness screaming in terror.

Slowly a few of the soldiers and mages stepped closer to inspect the lake, they suddenly realized what had happened to the missing woodland creatures and the nearby inhabitants of the villages. Underneath the water lay thousands of deformed corpses, creatures and humans alike. One of the soldiers bravely stepped into the water and dragged out one of the human remains. The mages immediately started to examine it and the first thing they noticed was the complete absence of the brain, heart and eyes. Not unknown to them was the fact that these exact organs had also been used in the past for pagan demon worship.

Meanwhile a small figure had stepped forth from the shadows of the trees on the far side of the lake. Its fur was as black as a starless night, yet seemed to emit a strange glow. Leaning on what looked like a short staff, he almost made a human impression on the expedition members if not for his tail. Slowly one of the mages walked towards the strange creature, cautiously followed by two soldiers. The creature grinned at them with a smile just oozing with pure evil intent and as the little critter stomped his staff onto the ground a thundering sound of war drums was let loose from every direction.

Scared beyond belief a few of the peasantry and a couple of soldiers ran as fast as they could into the direction they came from, only to be pierced with a few dozen poisonous arrows and eventually sliced into bits if they even managed to reach the tree line. For the remaining group it was now certain that they had no way back and this little beast in front of them was all but friendly. The mages readied their spells and the soldiers formed a tight circle around them, when the creature grinned once more.

As soon as the little critter slammed his short staff into the ground for the second time a horde of these creatures stormed out of the woods and literally poured all over the remaining expedition members. The soldiers slashed their swords into their attackers as the mages hurled massive fireballs into the ranks of their enemy, burning hundreds in its path. In the heat of the battle the leader of the expedition yelled at one of the other mages and as he pointed at the obvious leader of these tainted beasts, they both noticed a few mutations occurring. Mutations in such a way they had hoped to never witness ever again. The tiny beast slowly grew in size, absorbing the magic powers used by the mages and its fur started to emit the same green glow they knew all too well.

Once again a disturbance was felt by the mages and they all knew it was not a good omen. Seemingly the lingering demonic presence of Shezmu had corrupted the lands of Carrothia to such an extent that even the lower creatures became tainted with its evil destructive power. A few of the mages now hurled fireballs at the changing creature, which in turn mumbled a few words and simply caught them with its bare hands. The beast now standing in front of them was no longer a mere woodland creature, this was some sort of new evil, a new demon even! Grinning at the mages and their protectors, the demonic entity threw back the fireballs and slowly walked towards them whilst still changing its form with every step he took.

By now only a handful of expedition members still had life in them and as the unholy beast reached the first soldier, it ripped off his sword arm and smashed its claws into the skull of the poor guy. Careless the demon threw aside the corpse and kicked one of the nearby mages onto the ground. As the beast leaned over the mage, its foul stench made him nauseous. With an inhumane laugh, the demon grabbed the head of his new victim and squeezed the brains out, whilst looking directly into the mages eyes. As the mage drew his last breath, the beast suddenly spoke to the others.

"You have all failed in your effort to stop me and shall now be gracefully rewarded with horrible deaths! None shall stop my rise to power, not even Shezmu himself will be capable of stopping me! For I am the Demonic Bald Lemur God and you...You shall all become my slaves, this entire realm shall be mine! My will shall be done and none shall oppose me...EVER!!!" and as he spoke these last words, a blinding flash of unholy fire erupted underneath the last few expedition members and vaporized them.
