The Stormborn
17:03:11 Jan 29th 08 - Mr. Might The God of Cows:

*Might jumps and sailed through the air just as Moewman got hit. The smell of blood ran through the airstraight toward his nose. Might hit the water and started swimming easily launching ahead.*

"Dammit! Whoever got hit needs to get away from me! I need to get control of myself before someone gets hurt!"

17:54:38 Jan 29th 08 - Sir Erunion Telcontar:

On the deck of the Stormborn the platoon of Elven archers opened fire.
"Fire arrows men!"
Where an arrow hit, a fiery explosion tore through the area.
"There, on the tower! Neutralize those archers Alteran! We'll fire at the ones on the dock!"
The great elven longbows smacked hard with every arrow they released.

08:41:40 Jan 30th 08 - Lord Ragnarr:

A few arrows soared down around Ragnarr, splashing into the water soundlessly, save for the piercing sound they made in the air. The northman swam in the cold water until he reached the hull of the longship. He looked back to make sure everyone was behind, for if someone was left in the water, he was easy arrows fodder.
Meowman seemed to catch up on them slowly, yet Ragnarr presumed he was a weak swimmer and gripped for the board of the longship and pulled himself on it. He then helped with the rest to get on deck by giving them a hand and pulling them up. Meowman was last, and then, Ragnarr saw his wound in his arm.
"Erunion, do you have a mage-healer you can spare?" Ragnarr asked, then turned to Meowman, helped him across the deck and left him near the mast. "Lay here until someone comes to help you."
He then ran to the commander's deck, took the rudder oars from Thoren and turned the longship towards the pass they eneterd the bay through.
"Where the hell is the Blue Ray?" Ragnarr asked bitterly, knowing none had an answer.
The Blue Ray had delayed after they left the Red Dungeon, and assuered the Stormborn they would catch up, as Lord Seloc too had a map of the journey. Yet his ship hadn't come. Yet. Would it?
If it came to a sea battle, they could only hope it would.
"They won't just let us leave like that, will they?" asked Kormac, gripping his bow.
Ragnarr nodded coldly. "No."
"Ragnarr!" yelled Verll from the bow. "To the southeast, dead ahead - a cluster of ships! Coming our way!"
Damn, they were right on the path to the pass. Of course, the Stormborn could outmanouver them, although now the wind was in the favour of the enemy ships,...

12:37:45 Jan 30th 08 - Mr. Meowman:

"Dammit..." A major battle was coming, one that would dedermine the outcome of all their lives, and all Meowman could do was wait for a healer. "I hope he comes quick..."

15:08:10 Jan 30th 08 - Sir Revenge:

Part IV : The Last Clash

As the Stormborn's men called too arms , there was a familiar cry from the east
The Blue Ray had caught and was now closing in
There was five ships headed towards the two longboats
Meowman had been healed from the first command of Erunion and held his sword to the night
Ragnarr stood tall and unleashed a heart thrown speech
" Men" He cried to his fellow crew
" We have come and lost some"
" Revenge gave his life for Erunion" A silence was admitted
" Lets show that, this journey was no invain, this whole experdition will not come too an end"
" Lets be the great warriors we have come too be"
As he went too finish his speech, he was interupted by a bundle of arrows diving through the air
Erunion and his men created a buble around the two boats too prevent it, the arrows dissolved into the shield and as they looked up, the boats were in close sight...

16:03:09 Jan 30th 08 - Lord Ragnarr:

[ That was nice, Revenge. (:   ]

"Battle positions, right board!" Ragnarr yelled over the wind's raving.
All who were able to grab a sword and a shield did so and lined to the right board, leaving Erunion's elves sending volley after volley on the closest ship.
She was named Thyfierra, an immpressive ship with two masts, yet it looked as if it she was made for good looks and not so for efficiancy. Her figurehead was an elegantly made dolphine, and her boards were carved with numerous figures and details. Yet she was clumsy in her steering, although she managed to gain a good speed thanks to her trianglular sails, now full with wind.
Ragnarr steered the longship away from the course of the Thyfierra, as if they engaged her, they would leave their other board to the other six ships. He had a mind of trying to outmanouver them from their southern side, although that would be risky, as the enemies would have the chance to trap them with ease if fast enough.
Better that than certain defeat.
The Stormborn changed course swiftly, as if flying above the waves, and passed by the board of the Thyfierra. A few arrows thumped on the deck, but not much, as the other ship was expecting the longship to pass by their right board, not left.
"Ragnarr, two ships ahead trying to flank us at once." Thoren spoke loudly.
True, the Yarallsema and Venerium were dead ahead, each a large ship with three masts and a row of oars,...

17:25:32 Jan 30th 08 - Sir Erunion Telcontar:

"Johansen! See to the wounded! Alteran, open fire on those two ships ahead! Men! We have a ship to disable! Join your powers with mine, they have at least one mage on board!"
The first platoon of elves joined their powers as one.
All that the northmen saw was this, the two masts of the vessel burst into flame then fell, both on the deck, spreading the deadly flame to the timbers of the vessel. For some reason the fire was not put out by the ships crew, rather it spread all over the vessel, completely encompassing it with fire.
The flames were only doused when the vessel sank to the bottom.

{One down, but half of my elves will be busy for a little while.}

17:31:47 Jan 30th 08 - Mr. Might The God of Cows:

*Might sees this battle as a chance to grab a quick meal.*

"I can't fight while im hungry.....cause im not in the mood to attack everyone....."

00:12:46 Jan 31st 08 - Mr. Meowman:

Meowman calmly begins to prepare a pentagram as the remaining ship closed in, preparing to give them a burst of speed at the right time...

02:18:13 Jan 31st 08 - Prince Cephorus Septim IV:

Septim drew his bow and aimed it at a ship, he fired and hit a soldier, he fired again and missed, suddenly the ring on his finger glowed and Septim fell to the ground.

Septim was in a white purgatory. He looked around saw the figure he saw when he recieved the amulet.

"These three items were given by me for this particular moment. Use the amulet while the egg is in your possession and all will be revealed..."

Septim woke and went down to Erunion's quarters, the box opened for him and he grabbed the amulet put it on, he then went up on the deck and pulled the egg from his pocket. He wondered how to activate the amulet when the ring glowed again, and suddenly he was in an orb, his stomach having a strange feeling, and suddenly the egg hatched to reveal a griffon. The griffon grew at an alarming rate, growing centuries old in seconds, until it was the size of an ancient. The orb then disappeared and everybody was looking at them. The griffon looked down at Septim, then flew off.

"Well...that was strange..."

The griffon flew over to an enemy boat and tore down it's sails and splintered the deck to pieces, he did the same to the other boats as well, allowing the Stormborn the chance to escape.

09:00:05 Jan 31st 08 - Lord Ragnarr:

... yet while the griffin was destroying the other ships, one it didn't have time to deal with one.
The Rosa Immortala. She was a large ship, with a hull painted black and a banner with a rose. It was blocking their way for escape. Even if they did manage to outmanouver it, the wind was in her favour and she would easily catch up on them.
"Brothers, this last battle is immenent!" Ragnarr yelled, steering the Stormborn so, that it would gain on the Rosa Immortala from the rear end of the right board.
"Septim, I don't know what you did, but I thank you. Yet this one last battle remains, and by all means, it won't be an easy one."
And that was correct. The crew of the longship was about seventy-sixty five sea veterans, while the enemy crew was around a hundred sailers. Probably well trained.
Erunion's elves were leveling the numbers by sending waves of arrows that swept the enemy deck, and that gave them enough cover to catch up to the ship. The boards lightly touched and Kormac threw grapples.
Ragnarr left the rudder oar to Thoren, drew his sword and jumped over to the enemy deck.
"STORMBORN!"...

10:34:01 Jan 31st 08 - Mr. Meowman:

Meowman summoned his power and ushered a gust of wind, going up from the decks of the Rose and sending 6 men flying into the sea. He drew Gladernora and was about to charge into battle when he hesitated. He bent down, picked up the amulet, and watched it as it crumbled in it's fingers. He thought he heard a sigh on the wind, and realized that the deity whose power had been confined in the amulet's souls had been let loose, and, a few seconds later, the same happened to the ring. 'Good to finally be rid of them,' thought Meowman, and charged...

[[OOC: Lol, oh well...]]

16:12:38 Jan 31st 08 - Prince Cephorus Septim IV:

[[OOC: This griffon is around 10000 years old due to the amulet, I didn't grow old and die because I had the ring on, which protects the user against time...So it is quite large due to it's age, and can use it's massive claws to tear apart boats...]]

16:15:07 Jan 31st 08 - Mr. Might The God of Cows:

[Griffins usually die at 200.......10000 would kill most things....]

[[ Back too the RP lol ]]

22:13:48 Jan 31st 08 - Lord Ragnarr:

Three elf-like ones charged at Ragnarr with short, curved elven blades that slashed wildly and quickly, as if enraged snakes. Ragnarr was forced to step back from the sudden attack, yet he touched to the board, and behind he could not go. Instead he kicked his way through the attackers, sending the one in the middle to the ground. The northman quickly passed through the emptyness the elf-like one left, then made two hacks to the stumbling other two ones.
The crew of the Stormborn were swarming in onto the Rosa Immortala, but the northern crew was outnumbered.
And these elf-like ones did not fight like any sea brigands. They had fire in them.
Ragnarr turned to face another attack when he noticed the blade he parried was that of the elf-like one they had met on their way to the city of towers. His long, straight, raven-black hair was now waving behind his grinning face.
"You made a mistake by thinking you can take this ship." the captain said, looking at Ragnarr with his leathal and quick eyes, which were a deep, dark blue, as if orbs of blue flames.
"Did I?" answered Ragnarr coldly. He pushed the elf's blade away and made a powerful low slash, which would have left the captain with no legs if he hadn't jumped over and away from the greatsword. He used the time when Ragnarr was vunerable to make three hacks, one after the other, quick and sharp. The first one cut into Ragnarr's arm, right under the left shoulder, the second nearly got him for the throat if he hadn't stepped back and the third was blocked.
Now it was Ragnarr's turn.
He thrust his blade forward, then hacked at the elf, after which he made a slash from low to high. All this was dodged by the enemy captain. Ragnarr then raised his greatsword high above his head and struck down.
His sword went clean through the blade the captain defensively held, not having time to dodge the mighty strike. He dropped the remains of his sword in surprize, after which Ragnarr threw himself onto him, grabbed him by the throat and rammed him in the mast.
"Who is mistaken now?" he asked, his eyes ice.
"You." the elven captain smiled.
There was a sharp sting in Ragnarr belly, somewhere on the left side. It burnt.
Ragnarr stepped back, leaving the elf be, and looked to himself. He had a wound on his left side, above the hip, gushing blood - it had gone right through the ringmail and into his flesh.
Ragnarr choked blood and leaned to the far board of the ship. The elven captain smiled, cleaned the blood off his dagger, threw it aside and picked up a fallen sword. He headed towards Ragnarr.

00:01:40 Feb 1st 08 - Mr. Meowman:

Meowman had hacked his way onto the ship and found it swarming with the elf-men, their suppurior numbers having helped them, and Meowman made an estimate at 15 elves dead, 20 northmen. Meowman hacked, he slashed, he parried, but had only felled 3 of the amazingly skilled creatures when he saw something: something which turned his heart to ice. He saw Ragnarr leaning against the rail of the ship, blood spurting from hip and mouth, and he saw an elf stepping towards him. 'Hells alive,' thought Meowman, 'I'm glad I spotted that.' He summoned his power of wind and threw it at the elf, suprised to find that the blast of air was diffused by a crackle of sound and a flash of orange light. Meowman hacked at another elf coming his way and concentrated harder, focusing all his energies on the elf. Still that sound, that light, and no effect. The elf was within a meter of Ragnarr now. Meowman focused amazingly hard, concentrating his entire store of energy into his element. He knew that a spell this powerful without a pentagram or ritual could kill him, but he had never let a little thing like death get in the way before...

He realised his energy, all in a suden burst, and he felt the horrible feeling of life force draining away, fading into nothingness. He watched the elf fly off the ship into the distance, before his eyes rolled upwards into his head and he fell to the ground.

Little did he know that his recent contact with the amuet, just after the hight of it's power, had altered him enough to stop him from meeting the Grim Reaper from his magic alone, he would still be just as dead if a sword went through him while he was unconsious...

21:47:59 Feb 2nd 08 - Lord Ragnarr:

[ Come on, this thread won't do if I'm the only one posting. ( and Meowman...) ]

00:22:09 Feb 3rd 08 - Mr. Might The God of Cows:

*Might gripped the sides of the ship as hard as he could. He made his way down the deck to find something to eat before he hurt someone he didn't want to hurt.*

19:19:17 Feb 3rd 08 - Sir Erunion Telcontar:

Erunion and his elves, already tired from sinking the one ship with magic, threw themselves into the fray, longbows singing and Trendarat's swinging...

{Sorry, not being very active right now.}

21:25:13 Feb 3rd 08 - Lord Ragnarr:

Ragnarr spat some blood in the waves over board. The water was clear, and the waves were low, creating almost a mirror image of everything that happened above the vast surface. And now Ragnarr saw his death in the form of an elf-like one trying to take his head with a short sword.
Ragnarr turned and aimed his fist for the attacker's jaw. There was a snap at the mighty punch and the sailer fell to the deck and didn't bother anyone anymore.
Ragnarr lifted his greatsword and soon reached the commander's deck, leaving a few dead foes behind. He turned to face an attacker, dodged two hacks, parried a stab, then made a slash, followed by a thrust and his greatsword went clean through the elf-like one's armor and into his flesh. The northman was now in battle fever - he didn't distinct any of the sounds around, it all seemed a noise of distant echoes. His sight was blurred, and he realized he had lost a lot of blood from his wound in his abdomen. He turned to take the ship's flag down from the rear pole, when two arrows found his back. He almost felt the chill on the place of impact before the tips pierced through the ringmail. His armor didn't allow the arrows to go deep enough for an instant kill, but all the same, Ragnarr was now heavily wounded. He grunted, but continued to take the enemy ship's flag down until he had it in his hands. He turned around and raised it high so all could see.
"STORMBORN!" he yelled over the battle's shreiks and threw the flag to the ground.

00:23:04 Feb 4th 08 - Mr. Meowman:

[[Isn't anyone going to help me? As soon as an elf-thing notices I'm breating I'm going to die...]]

[[I'm playing when somebody gets me out of the way of the elven phycos.]]

19:55:55 Feb 8th 08 - Lord Ragnarr:

[ I think this thread has totally lost its momentum. Maybe we should end it. If you people agree, I'll just post a long ending post of what happens next and be done with it. ]

21:48:43 Feb 8th 08 - Sir Erunion Telcontar:

{Either for me. I can keep going, or we can end it. But I would like to see it start up again eventually.}

Erunion ran over to Meowman and grabbed his body then hauled it down into the hold.

22:06:02 Feb 8th 08 - Mr. Might The God of Cows:

[[NO! Don't close it. Pause the game and give everyone 24 hours to respond. If they don't they die or become Ragnarr-controled. If they do, they stay. This used to be great, let's make it so again...]]

15:59:43 Feb 11th 08 - Prince Calus Septim V:

[[OOC: I still play sometimes....]]

16:03:17 Feb 11th 08 - Mr. Might The God of Cows:

[Same here.]

00:28:42 Feb 12th 08 - Mr. Meowman:

Meowman awoke, feeling drowzee. He tried to stand up but found himself too weak, his knees crippiling beneath him. Determined to at least know the fate of his comarades he had left, Meowman crawled up the stairs and through the hatch. When he got through he found the remains of a fight to the death, with only 5 of the elven folk left standing, who were still fighting against the 15 of the Stormborn's crew left alive. Then one fell to the ground from Erunion's flame, another from Might's blade, one from Septim's longsword, untill they were all dead. Meowman looked around. "Where's Ragnarr?" He asked. The crew looked around. One of the surviving Northmen up on the commander's deck shouted "Quick! Come here!" Even though he was supported by 2 elves, Meowman was still the last to reach  the deck, where he found a small circle of people surrounding something. When Meowman saw what it was, he fell to his knees again. "Oh no," he whispered through muffled sobs. "I-I-I saved you! You can't be dead! You can't be!"

[[Ragnarr it's up to you now to say if you're alive or not. I'm assuming you fell down, what with severe blood loss and bein shot twice. I know I'm not supposed to control CPUs or other players but it's the best I can do to get thread going again...]]

00:41:45 Feb 12th 08 - Prince Calus Septim V:

*Septim sheathed his blade and ran over to Ragnarr Stormguard.

"He's still alive, but barely...I don't know if he will survive..."

*Septim lifted him up and dragged him up to his cabin, followed by the remaining crewmembers. Septim lifted Ragnarr up and placed him on his bed.

"I don't even know if the Elves can heal these injuries...Erunion, go get your healers, if any are still alive..."

*Septim proceeds to clean Ragnarr's wounds.

[[OOC: If he says no, I will take charge of this RP, I am second in command of the Stormborn afterall...]]

03:05:42 Feb 12th 08 - Sir Erunion Telcontar:

"Johansen! You're needed in the cabin now!"

Erunion got to work on the preliminary stages of the healing, waiting for Johansen to arrive.

He knew this was beyond his skill, but perhaps Johansen could manage it. Perhaps...

09:10:30 Feb 12th 08 - Mr. Meowman:

Meowman got up, practising walking and regaining the strength to keep his balance as he moved. He tottered after Septim and muttered to him, "We have to go now! Keep Johansen and Erunion in here to help Ragnarr and get the rest of the crew to gather our dead for a good burial. Abandon the Blue Ray, we will hardly be able to man even one ship with only 13 men... we have to go before they send more ships..."

15:29:44 Feb 12th 08 - Lord Ragnarr:

[ Is the battle over? If it is, I guess I can post next,..]

16:01:46 Feb 12th 08 - Prince Calus Septim V:

"Alright men, get whatever supplies and valuables we have on the Blue Ray onto the Stormborn and burn it, we cannot let them have that fine ship!"

Six men went over to the Blue Ray, and came back five minutes later with many things, including food and water.

One of the men: "We're finished!"

Septim grabbed a barrel of powder and poured it all over the deck of the Blue Ray, he then took the barrel back, and ordered the leaving of the Stormborn. As it was leaving Septim threw a torch at the Blue Ray and saw it burst into flames.

16:26:13 Feb 12th 08 - Lord Ragnarr:

The fire reached a fasinating height above them, making the sky orange just for a moment. The burning fine ship crackled in the flames was entirely devoured by the inferno.
With no second thought, Septim grabbed the rudder oars and commanded the longship out of the foul bay, leaving everything behind.
Aeron Silverwind was leaning on the board of the commander's deck, deep in thoughts. Everyone was silent. The oarsmen rowed powerfully, eager to laeve this place behind and get back home.
There was a haevy atmosphere, as a lot were missing, never to be seen again.
The orange sky in the distance rippled behind them. All were glad when the land was out of sight, by midday.
...
Time passed, about a week, before Ragnarr opened his eyes. He broke out from his dark dream to see the light of the day pierce into his small space for sleeping.
A few minutes later he was on deck. He couldn't help limping, and every step sent a pulse of pain through out his body, but if the rest saw their lord weak, they would surely grow a poor morale and spirit.
Everyone nodded at him when he passed by them, and some grinned widely to see him again. Ragnarr made sure he thanked Erunion and his elves for ther cares. He inspected the whole longship. He spoke with almost all the warriors.  Then he headed for the commander's deck.
"How long have we been in sea?" Ragnarr asked Septim.
"About a week or so. We should be at Ironkeep in a month, and from there at Stormkeep, from where we took off, in another two moons."
"If the wind is on our side..."
Ragnarr had noticed the grim atmosphere aboard. He went to the bow slowly, so all could see him.
"Our quest is over. Those who died while doing it shall not be forgotten, and those who finished it shall have names, that shall live for ever in the sagas! We're going home, men."...

18:36:32 Feb 12th 08 - Sir Erunion Telcontar:

{Only thirteen men left!?!?!??! Including elves??? Of the platoon (31 including it's commander, 32 with me), twelves elves are still alive.}

21:03:10 Feb 12th 08 - Lord Ragnarr:

[ Thirteen of the northmen. That is excluding elves, me, players and non-NPCs. ]

21:05:13 Feb 12th 08 - Prince Calus Septim V:

Septim gladly gave command of the ship to Ragnarr and went down to the main deck. A gryphon flew gracefully down.

"Go now, Lord of Gryphons, and find your place, I thank you for your help, if not for you, all of us would have been dead."

The gryphon flew off after a brief roar, and Septim sat down, ready for whatever was before him.
