[I think lord sounds better, so I am keeping it as an honorary title. I need grounds to title fight you with, and ex-criminal is not very endearing, is it? And I am not using blackboard monitor...]

Demonsul got on with his life. Bazun and the lands around it prospered, and he was glad it was so. He paid for a town-owned medium tavern to be built, and then hired someone to work there. Once it was obvious the tavern would be producing 2400 gold every year, Demonsul left it to work.

The war started, without warning the General took several cities. Ulen sent a small number of troops to aid with his revolution, but the noblemen of Serillia were on the side of the Emperor. In a great battle outside of Seris's gates, Serillius's forces under Count Delran and Count Validus Septim met the forces of General Harak and destroyed them in what would be called the third battle of Seris. General Harak was captured during the battle, and was soon executed for his treachary. With that victory, Count Delran and Count Validus Septim gained the title of Duke. Septim would control the Duchy of Cidel from his capital of Cidel, while Delran would control the Duchy of Kharos from his capital. With the title came a mithril longsword with the crest of their respective Duchies on the hilt, along with ten thousand gold coins. Their pay for their titles increased to fifteen thousand gold coins a day.

[You get whatever job you want! Apart from needing the necessary skills, any job is available. Also, what country are you in? (see map on page 1.) I am in Ulen but Septim and Delran are in Serillia.]

Demonsul took some time of of running his county to engage himself in oration courses. He still earned a large income from his guild and buildings, but happily enjoyed working out his new skill.
It was late in the day and Demonsul had just finished his oration course. He was leaving the academy when a bedraggled man came running up to him. He kept shouting, and Demonsul's freelancer guards instinctively closed ranks around him. But the man forced his way through and, when he stood face to face with Demonsul, presented him with a letter. "From overseas, from your old master," said the man, and stepping back, he vanished with a flash of magic. Demonsul sniffed at the sudden smell of brimstone. His old master had always taught his pupils to be somewhat dramatic.
Breaking open the seal, Demonsul read the letter. It was definitely from is old master, and the news was somewhat shocking. Carefully, Demonsul stowed it in his cloak. He would have to follow the letter's instructions later. For now, he had a county to get back to running...

There are three wealth levels: poor, average, and wealthy.
Your Duchy starts out as average, and if you administrate it for three days, it becomes wealthy. If your Duchy is wealthy, you will gain 2000 more gold than you normally would, if it is average, you gain the normal amount of 10,000 gold, if it's poor, you only gain 8,000 gold from being a Duke. If you use a regent for two days in a row, your wealth decreases, if you administrate for three days in a row, it increases. By the way, Demonsul, you can do something to gain two PP now. The best way would be to give your ruler a good economic plan to help his Empire. :-) ]]

Septim wakes up one morning and begins administrating his Duchy. He decides to build two more Guild Halls for 10,000 gold each in the cities of Cidel and in the faraway capital of Eren, thus expanding the Guild's influence. He then decides on a seal for Cidel. A white dragon with a black background. After a day of administrating his Duchy, he gives a speech to his nation that increases his popularity with his people. He then buys a book (Reading for Journeymen) and begins reading. After reading for a while he goes to bed.

Demonsul administrated the duchy, and also ordered that his Freelancer's Guild expand it's influence by buying a Guildhall in the capital of Ulen. With his guild's new influence, he decided it would be time to act on is ex-master's instructions. He was bringing religion into Ulen.
Demonsul's homeland had a polytheistic religion with four gods controlling the universe. The people of Demonsul's homelands had gradually drifted away from their orthodox worship, no longer providing the belief they used to. Demonsul's old master had seen this as bad, and, for reasons of his own, had decided to outsource the religion to a more believing group, so it could continue to thrive.
So, he had called in a favor of Demonsul to bring this religion to Ulen. Demonsul had been happy to oblige, as the religion would provide a source of income, and Demonsul always liked income.
Thus, the Old Beliefs came to Ulen, and Demonsul built for them three temples. One in Bazun, one in Ulen, and one in the previously-overlooked city of Artteon. The Four Elemental Gods of Fire, Water, Earth and Air looked down on them with gratitude  and the Essence of Life they contolled grew brighter (if that all actually existed, of course. All Demonsul was interested in was the Revenue Of The Religion).
And the people came, glad to have omnipresent company in the void of the universe.

After finally getting the skill of fighting Artiul truly became part of the military. He went to the acadamey and got the skill of tactics. Later that day he went to offices and enlisted as a Lieutenant. After that he went swimming (2/3), ate some bread, and went to sleep.
