Samulis and the Stone Knight
21:49:41 Jan 15th 11 - Mr. Nervonius Degrimme:

Prelude

Long ago, the Dwarven-King of Morheild stood atop a tall citadel, observing the banners of his friends and foes marching across the land. It was a golden time, topped by the rich treasures of the earth his miners had begun to dig up. Thousands of workers now worked in the great city, digging up gold by the ton.

In the distance he spied a foreign banner, crossing the walls of Cheu'weil to the north and marching straight south towards his citadel. In fright, he and his guard flew west to raise the army in defense. The foreign army brutishly took the citadel and burned it to the ground, killing peasants by the thousands and breaking the mines' still-green support beams with their clubs and hammers. Yet shortly later, they flew, and the citadel was returned by the king's hand itself. As the army flew, it's banners began to change as new commanders overcame the force from outside... The Dwarf-King rode north with his finest warriors to track the force, gaining on the brutish horde as it made for their old home. However, a battle erupted between the noble and now enraged defending fiefs around Morheild and the foreign army was destroyed. The Dwarf-King smiled as he rode through the bloody field, then returned home. Upon his return, he knighted the human ambassador Samulis to Knight of the Realm, and gave him orders to protect his kingdom against further foes.

Samulis and the Stone Knight

Long ago, a brave knight by the name of Sir Samulis ventured across the realm of Midgard, questing for freedom from the daily drudgery of warfare and soldiery. Upon his travels one warm spring day he came across a knight made of solid granite who stood two men tall and four abreast, guarding the path.

The knight spoke slowly and vehemently, "Who shall pass, one who fights for power or one who fights for freedom?"

To his challenge, Samulis responded, "I fight for freedom, O' solid knight."

The knight spat and spoke again, "Then you shall not pass my guard." With that, the Knight drew a far eastern sword, whose name we now know is a katana, and charged at Samulis, shouting loudly, "Are you Ready?"

Samulis returned the shout back, drawing his battleaxe, running back a few feet, and jumping atop a large stone, "I am indeed ready!"

They stood there, both prepared to fight, for a long period of time. Then, the stone knight flexed his arm, revealing a hole in his stony skin. Samulis swung and struck, driving the point home into the stony knight and sending him reeling back many feet upon the trail.

Slowly Samulis approached the knight, now bleeding and injured greatly. He waited for the knight to tire before removing his head with one swing of his battle axe, yet he caught glimpse of another smaller stone knight riding around him, cautious of what had happened to his larger friend.

These stories were originally created based off of an experience I had ~7 eras back when all the realms worked on the same era timeline.
