Does this sound lame to you guys? I live in a small rural town with no phone lines, and the only internet you can get is wireless. The best internet you can get here is this.

Mobile broadband that has an average download speed of just 65kbps (but sometimes less than 5kbps). Maximum bandwidth is 8GB. But just say I download something that is 200mb, it'll get counted as 350mb or more. And all this for $60AUD ($53USD)

Worst is with telstra. A neighbour has it. It costs $300 for the wireless modem ($266USD) maximum bandwidth is 10GB and it costs $120 ($106USD). Download speeds are usually about 35kbps.

Would any of you americans or europeans pay for something like this??

oh and also, what are you paying, how fast is YOUR internet and how much bandwidth do you get? I'm just wondering how bad it is here compared to the rest of the world.

downloadings peed is about 800kbps, we get it from my parents job, they gave the modem and pay the cost of it.

Here in sweden we have 3G and soon we'll have 4G.

isn't gsm for mobile phones? i'm talking about wireless broadband that you plug into a computer :P

and i'm on dodo wireless, which uses the optus 3G network. And I have never heard of 4G till now.

At home I have 100Mbit/s för around $50/month and unlimited bandwidth usage.

You should get a couple of Mbits if they are using 3G. 

4G can handle 100Mbit/s while you are moving and 1Gbit/s if you are stationary. (ref: wikipedia)

meh i pay like 10bucks per month. unlimited, bought a router and share ze net. mm according to speedtest my download is 30mb/s upload is like 75mb/s . well i believe i still overpay...



but its all results meh.

didnt make for edit, but just did one with my laptop which connects through router ( wireless )

pay 53aud or 47usd or 34euro a month =)
unlimited traffic.

and penguin, you always overpay!
