It is end of era and the Monks celebrate (of course with tons of wine!!!!)

This was our 3rd era and i wanted to thank the whole team for the great job done altogether. We will probably have a winner coming from The Monks this era (if things stay the same till the end), but beyond that i think we demonstrated to be a good KD, given the fact this is just our 3rd era and many of our players are relatively "inexperienced" in comparison to the average Fantasia player.

you should reward the other kds who fought all era and allowed you the comfort of sneaking in and stealing the top spot you didnt earn

I say we should be celebrating Legacy for having fought over 90% of Fantasia oh....but you're right it is a free game you can say whatever you want :)

Sorry but imo dont see the point of this thread. How many eras have we seen legacy win (like a billion) but yet have never posted something like this self-congratulatory "pat on the back"? No offense intended, just pointing out the obvious.....

please your "victory" over us was total bs :P you attacked us while we were in a war with Fords kd yeah right take a kd your size 1 on 1 and we will see what you have.

One thing I wanna say: you guys should not underestimate the number and size of armies from Legacy we kept engaged till the end. To say that we sat back and explored....from you guys...it is a bit surprising to me....but hey...the game is free and everybody can say whatever:)....I just hope in fairness and education. 

Hey genius, let's think about it.

Whole Era exploring = able to generate alot of money as well as having lost little to no troops that you have built. Therefore you can probably throw up plenty of defense by the time we get down there, and of course everyone else on the map is keeping us busy (where were you all in the initial surge again?) you all whored ftw.

Shush up, any pack of new players can do what your 'dream team' did.

For the record, my own post wasnt hostile. There are some very good players in bacchus (special props to Mensies;) I was just pointing out that this thread was a little too self-serving was all;)

I saw almost the same thing happen last era when I was in V.
Flaming and sore losers.

I have been a winner the last two eras, both as Vendetta's vice and as Baccus Monks' vice. Yes I was the winner of the last two eras! Not because of HoH, but because I had loads of fun!

Don't ever forget that it's a game of strategy, diplomacy and economy as well as war, so please stop seeing this one-sided as a war game. We took advantage of anything we could, of the Abydos-LGC war and any other war LGC had, that's part of the game, too. We explored, well, that's part of the game, too. We had an excellent diplomacy, that's also a part of the game.

If the defination of fun for anyone of you is to go out and kill other players, please go play a CS or something or ask zeta to make a sudden-death arena and let us play our strategy.

So, since I'll step back for an era, I want to thank everybody :
1) All of you for the fun I had, in any Kd that you play.
2) All members of the Monks.
3) All members of my subteam, who were strong as a fist
4) The other kd vices for the cooperation and
5) FRA, for an excellent application of the Kd strategy we all planned together.

That's the bottomline, my friends, to have fun.

Suggesting that this isn't a war game is stupendously stupid. The entire game is geared towards warring, practically all the features are used in conjuction with maging or attacking. This is the same as most other online games -- take Runescape for example (I use this, as I'm sure most of us played it at one point or another when we were younger, so it's a game we have in common for an example), the ability to go for "economy" and pump ranks/stats (eco, in VU's case) is there, but the emphasis of the game is to fight each other, and other NPCs. Not to sit back, explore, then pat yourself on the back when you've made little to no achievement. If VU were to remove the ability to attack one another, then the game would die, simply because it is the crux of the game. The "whoring game" is a game us old timers have long attempted to steer from, it is boring, it takes no skill what so ever and it forces the game into stagnation. If other kds followed your example this era, you wouldn't have ranked so highly. But thankfully other kds didn't do that, kds like Abydos fought hard and you overtook them by whoring, so they deserve more praise than you.

There are no sore losers, because we realise that essentially, BACCUS' claim for the top spot is a hollow one. They have done nothing to achieve it, and its remarkable how they go on and on about how they fought Mirror and Legacy, but "didn't explore" to rank so high. Let's put it into context then -- all those KDs LGC beat up north, and all their economies that we gained that were spread across the north of the map -- that contributed to our score and size massively. BACCUS didn't take any of LGC's core, and the only other KD they fought was Mirror, early in the era, which would of contributed to their late game score minimally. But still, BACCUS was able to rival LGC on the overall NW towards the end.

So the conclusion? BACCUS whored. There's nothing worth congratulating there, Fra. Have some humility instead of attempting to brag over worthless actions.

That's more correct in my personal opinion. The game (and any game) is what you make of it. If you say it's war-oriented, why does economy count so heavy on the scores?

Personally, I don't care about getting congratulations or anything. I'm happy because I played the game the way **I** liked it and I had fun.

Who knows, maybe I and some more older players can turn this game into a whoring game....  :-P

Why does economy count so heavily on the scores? ZeTa isn't infallible here, Andro. The system isn't perfect yet. A few rounds back it was heavily shifted towards attacking for the end scores -- in particular, experience from armies. As experience was easily available (especially before the pre-nerf halfing adventurer), scores were heavily inflated and not representative of the true hohs. You could easily make the same argument about "experience weight" back then, but it essentially boils down to this: the end scores aren't perfected yet to be truelly representative, hence the disagreements here, especially over Fra's empty-bragging.

Obviously the end scores need reworking (as does arma freezing, all that leads to is planned-round winners)

I agree to HH and EW about the scores up to a point.
My objection is that this game is a dynamic system, with new players coming in and out all the time. That's what I meant before with my joke about turning the game into a whoring-oriented one.
 
New players like me could come, who wouldn't appreciate pure war as much as the right strategy and diplomacy.

So, the scores can never be finalized the way you may think about, satisfying the majority of the players, because the tides could go the other way after a few eras.

I like the monks and all, but I agree with these statements. I've never seen Legacy congratulate themselves, and this era they fought almost every Kingdom.

Yes Oya, as it happens in all eras.

Legacy is used to winning.  They celebrate by dressing up in their tuxes and sipping their tea while making light conversation, concluding the meeting with little stories about the mere little annoyances called Abydos and Baccus they had to fight.

But all i have to say is, sobek you sir, are an *beep*. You can't take 1 quotation out of the whole thing he said. Go back, read what he said and if you still want to say the previous, please crawl into a pit and never post on the forums again.

I don't think you should of publically declared your congratulations though. Ever other KD that wins don't make a thread about it (usually).

Then where's the massive loads of Legacy members patting themselves on the back then Fra? I've never seen it (even when I wasn't in Lgc), so it hasn't happened 'in all eras'.

Actually this is crazy. "Massive loads"?...just 3 of our memebrs posted in this thread.

Also, all this criticism about casting arma....I dont understand as well. I was told more than one time that this is the game and whoever wanna stop arma should just go and stop it...that's the game.

So...if Legacy did not have even the minimum problems from Baccus...welll, it should have been pretty easy for you guys to come and stop it?

About the whorring thing: I personally did not whore at all this era. This is my first Dwarf era and before saying that we are explorers...you guys (in particular legacy) should look at who your HoH players are:

ALL OF THEM, I bet are DWARVES! And it has been the same for the last couple of eras.............so about the whorring thing:)...please avoid BS.

1- NO arma

2- Rankings based on battle won and size of armies defeated

3- Dwarves weakened

4-...whatever.............you want

............BUt given the current  conditions of the game......we won this era as Legacy won eras in the past. Did we win the way Legacy likes or whoever else like?

I dont care! The only thing I can ensure is that we did NOT cheat or exploit any bug and we RESPECTED ALL our agreements. full stop!

I think, if you win you earned it.

So Baccus, you EARNED it. Congratulations guys and especially to Fra with whom i hope to see in my dungeon of spank-love(yeh u like it babeh).
