| 05:27:30 Oct 26th 09 - Mr. Arthur Dent: Yeah, but the only time I have needed good prices is in the last half. I have been pumping out Advents like there's no tomorrow. Sure I have a negative upkeep, but the amazing food prices make that not a problem. Their units are a little too weak though. They need a 20/20 unit or something like that. Plus the Advents ability is very rare to happen. It happened with me for the first time this era, and that was randomly when I only had like 40k advents in total. | ||||

| 05:43:50 Oct 26th 09 - Mr. Arthur Dent: Lol, Sometimes you can get money or science. This era I got 1 Farming science and 65 mil in gold. I've not gotten anything in the other 2 eras that I have played halfling before this one. I like halfling though cause hardly anyone plays it and it can be useful to use some of their abilities. They used to have invisible scouts, but now they are only invisible a few ticks away from like cities or armies, so that ability basically sucks now. You used to be able to put invisible scouts on someone else's scout so they couldn't build a city, ah the good old days. | ||||

| 06:00:53 Oct 26th 09 - Prince Charley The Kitten: Maybe you didn't find anything in the past eras because you were dying, not getting exp, or farming? :p Copied this from Killer's Halfer guide. "Ok, a bit about adventurers finding treasures - The more exp the better(you need at least some exp to find stuff. Exp also gives somewhere between 1 and 2% power each to your army. You earn more by attacking at less than 90(but don't kill your troops away at <60% chances)). The more adventurers the better. I'm pretty sure it doesn't matter what other troops are in the army. There's no limit on how much you can find, You can find any sciences, gold or experience. Experience is probably the best, because you can find more stuff after that, but don't turn your noses up at anything(apart maybe from some sciences at just the wrong time)." | ||||
| 08:27:25 Oct 26th 09 - Mr. Frodo Lost His Ring: well i went the other way and treated them similar to a dwarf...for my food cities i put in some farmers to boost production but i left food science alone...for most of the era food prices were very bad until now...so i went mining science,magic and mil and used the halfling's food ability to offset the cost of my army....i am probably the only halfer who is actually buying food but i have a stack of cities full of pez and with my mining it it is still better money than food. it is good that someone has suceeded doing it the traditonal way too. been a lot of fun being a halfer but i think my dwarf last year was better, i plundered a lot with cavemasters and even on 50% worlds this gives me a lot of loot and hurts the enemy which are normal player cant have. the reduction in invisibility means it is harder to farm up experience to make halfer scouts bring in the presents. | ||||
| 14:17:02 Oct 26th 09 - Mr. Arthur Dent: Well I doubt that that is the best way to get money. With these food prices a halfer with a lot of farms can get tons of gold. Enfortunately I only have 2 farms cause I've been too inactive and/or don't like to farm. And Charley, I wasn't getting it before cause I barely had any advents and didn't get too much exp. I might have had like 2 exp for one army before getting the science and money, but I doubt it. I was in the middle of moving my army to a blocker when I got the message that I got something. | ||||
