    With regards to WSS, we've fought RoC, FW, Hornwood, and Mormont for the majority of the era. And the only reason we didn't attack Ferox was because they were restarting.

Oh right I forgot that you had one or two orcs settle in Mormont core at oop
So basically every kingdom had a good oop war
It was very nicely balanced era.


And I would not say there were three big kingdom, but four.
Mormont/Hornwood should just make 1 GoT kingdom and that way becoming even stronger, but I believe they were NAPed from the start, so they could be considered as the fourth large kingdom.

RoC fought WSS and FW
WSS fought Mormont and RoC
FW fought Mormont and RoC
Mormont fought FW and WSS

It was like that almost the entire era, and it was really nice. 
RoC lost their wars on both sides
WSS won against RoC and met FW
Mormont was losing against FW and NAPed WSS
FW was winning on both battlefronts

We won against Mormont too. Both OOP and mid-era.

To everyone in the blue team, you guys are really good and pretty much have a template you work off every era (get a bazzilion lvl5's and tazzillion MU's for AOTD and have multiple players do this) and have great team work. 

And Mormont barely has enough armies remaining as seen from their KD power which is very very low and we had enough armies in the area to take both Hornwood and Mormont out but we just CF'ed them so we could give you guys a tougher fight. Thought you'd appreciate! :P

So I don't see why you should be sad about the CF's.

I think you overestimate us. We usually don't have enough people playing to send people off to enemy cores. That and everyone seems to think our core is a oop gaia spam dumping ground.

House Mormont fought Both FW and WSS out of protection, we had a WSS Orc in our core that almost wiped us out but we recovered after much effort and many lost cities, Our OOP war against FW lasted awhile but ended in being pushed out of their core.

We then gained ground against WSS in the North but when ROC fell, more WSS members focused on us and on reclaimed their land and defeated our assault. At the same time a couple Mormont members launched a few medium sized armies at FW which were killed and they pushed into our land.

Its been a very eventful era. Props to WSS and FW!

If you've played Civilization 5-6, consider Hornwood a city-state lol. Stelius and I want to have our own Kingdom, but aren't active enough to make a solid contribution anywhere. So like the city-states in civ, we just take a small area and either have small battles, get killed, or do the bidding of who influences us the most, in this case Mormont. 

I'm also pretty fond of the orange logo haha.

We lost 6601 Illusionists and 6433 of your magic towers got destroyed in explosions.


Yay!!! We got one bloody farmer summoned into the army! Fear the pitchfork.

The trick to dealing with AotD, is to leave them with no army to cast it on.

Trick with dealing with aotd is to have as many or more people training aotd armies in your kingdom as well...

That's one way. Another is to siege trap or rof it.


Siege trap need a combination of 2 strong attackers that can match the aotd army or 1 strong army in the right position at the right time. Rofing require a strong mage that can break the aotd's army defense.

Most often rofing is the way to go to deal with an op naz army. It's way cheaper to train the mages require to rof than the cost of the naz that will burn when succeeded.

A 200k AM army, your own 20k naz army, 700k knights!!! on top of your big dwarf armies. Even some of your late era halfling armies were huge.

Until a few days ago you still had a good chance at beating us (or at least a whole lot of mutual destruction). You had the op and player count to do a tonne of damage to us, but things are turning our way now.

Or stop it before it begins. If it doesn't have enough op it will get walked over by any high op army.

You shouldn't need all those armies + crazy amounts of coordination just to kill 1 enemy army. There needs to be more counter play involved. AoTD is too strong of a spell at the moment, and definitely needs to be toned down in my opinion.


I do agree with your point regarding "stop it before it begins", but unfortunately that's not always a possibility. Also, Orcs are arguably the most powerful race OOP, so its difficult fighting them early era as well. Which basically leaves you with a small window of opportunity mid era to take out the orcs. If you fail to do this, any good player will have farmed up enough to train an unbeatable army late game (thanks to the AoTD spell).

Bogdan did it on Mantrax and Binh is doing it currently on Fantasia. Now, these are also two of the best players in the game right now....but regardless, their needs to be more counter-play to the late game orc armies. AoTD definitely needs some balancing in my opinion.

I do not agree with orc best race stuff. You can do it will elf also (you can get even stronger armies with elf). If an orc fights oop he won't be that strong later (I only spammed to defend oop, rox did the fighting). You don't need crazy amount of coordination, but indeed you need strong magic or strong armies. Orcs get weak armies in case they lose some troops (by slaughter or rof) because nazzies are expensive, so unlike other races they can't easily retrain the troops. If the aotd spell is made harder to cast then it will be even harder for the other races to use it.

Well, as an orc, I play aggressive, so the plunders kept those going all era quite nicely till my nazz were ready, unlike you who couldnt afford your upkeep on the ponies and let them die.

You always need coordination to kill a good enemy. The difficulty level of killing a good player's army is always high. Especially when that players has play that race's potential to it's highest in that era.

Go ahead and tell me how you're going to kill my army or anyone's army out there with any ounce of competence as any race without a single coordination. You guys can't do a thing to my halfer and halfer is a race that is EXTREMELY HARD to aotd.

Also I would like to point out that the following maneuver isn't "crazy amount of coordination". I do this solo a lot of time but pairing with another player make it EXTREMELY EASIER:

1. Siege city A
2. Bounce army to city A
3. Kill city A

It take more coordination to defend against an orc gaia spam in your core to be honest :P

If orc are best race and unbeatable, I wouldn't be bother playing any other race at all. But you see me playing orc, human, hafling, elf, troll, and dwarf.

Because I think any of those race are capable of doing great things. To be honest I don't like dwarf that much because it lack the potential for really late game power. That's why I play it the least.

Regarding magic part of the argument.


Is AOTD powerful? Yes
Is it gamebreaking? No. If it is you'll see people aotding armies of any race and unit levels. Instead It's only used mainly on small armies like nazgul, ams, zerkers, and catapults all are level 5 units.

Is magic spells unbalanced? Yes. why in the nine world is ghost warriors so sucky compared to other low level spells? I think zeta need to do a buff on some of the useless spells out there.

I do agree with most of your points, and especially that killing a good enemy does and should require coordination. I just don't think it should require multiple armies that must match or beat the enemy armies' strength to use the seige trap method.


That being said, I do realize that when your enemy orc is Bogdan (with an extremely strong skill level and very high level of activity), it might exaggerate the "problem" outside the norms. So maybe my views of the "problem" are unrealistic as you might never face the same "problem" against the average orc player. Hard to tell tho, as its only my 2nd era back to VU after many years. I'll continue to monitor this and see how strong the average orc player really is, as compared to the avg player of other races.

Regardless, my main argument was not that orcs are the best race or unbeatable (#dwarflove)....my argument is that AoTD as a spell needs to be more balanced.

You didn't really. You had your own aotdable armies strong enough to counter ours earlier in the era (Like an elf who chose not to have mil sci? I wonder why that was ;D ) but they we're attacking elsewhere, and your "less aotdable" armies were fighting our orcs :)

The main problem you have at the moment is we are 6 weeks into the era (wow). The Elf/troll domination part of the era is ending. This part of the era belongs to orc :D   (and xp Halfling)

No it's not always possible. Like any elf or late era attacker, an orc is choosing to suck for 3-4 weeks for a shot at ending up with a powerful army. Either they will succeed or they will get killed off during their sucky period. (provided their not CF/NAPing threats to guarantee success, it isn't that big a deal)

If you want to kill them right oop it can be, but you don't need to wipe them out. If an orc (or any other late era player) is spending their gold filling their mines with gaia, their probably not farming.

I was "interrupted" for the first two-three weeks of the era and my army is only just becoming "deadly" (6 weeks into the era) compared to your high op armies.

You can push for "balancing" aotd (I completely understand why a dwarf lover would want to) ;) but as Bogdan mentioned making it harder to cast will make it much harder for non-orcs than for orcs. The most reasonable way would be to make % to cast based on the amount of dead op your raising instead of dead troops, however right now aotd is the only thing that makes orc competitive after oop. Orcs troops would need to be adjusted (and so would most of the other races.)

I was advised that MW was a good way to do Elf, instead of mil sci (not necessarily best way, but a way).  I also was told casting MW on a scout then merging my army into the scout would keep MW.  Obviously, that didn't happen!


Considering this was my first full age playing this game ever . . . I think I did well and learned a lot!


And yes, I obviously was the elf no mil sci.
