Can't train x mus and expect to be immune to magic... Unless you're maging, science finds are the least useful benefit to xp halfer. Advents need 4 mil sci levels just to match zerks gold/op. If the troll buys 8 mil levels, the halfling will need to find about 14 mil levels just for its advents to match zerks mod gold/op. Even then it's still paying 3x more army upkeep. Gold find (and xp) is what really matters. It lets you spam advents for your xp army, pay upkeep on multiple hordes, build as many 90k towns as you like and fill them with troops, or build mc's from scratch and spam 800k mus to freeze approaching million mu dwarf armies with change left over. | ||||||

but can still be dealt with this far into the era (particularly if they don't have all the options that gold find gives them). 800k+ advents with mil sci and xp? Not so easy. Multipliers are scary but much scarier if you increase the amount that they are multiplying. ------------------------------------ 800k advents = 1.52 billion gold. A few decent gold finds pays for most of that and there's nothing to stop them from adding more advents/building 90ks or magic cities/training a second or third army. To top it off an occasional gold find will mean they don't have to worry about being negative 4 mil income per tick. Pretend gold find doesn't exist. How long is it going to take to save 1.52 billion from a normal income, after paying army upkeep for the xp army they already have running around? Can't afford massive mcs. Can't afford new 90ks. Can't afford additional (meaningful) armies. Their army size will be limited by upkeep just like any other race, but they don't have the option of housing their xp army to train more troops. | ||||||
