New players come to the game but you have to have more fun for them to stay. the first step to getting them to stay is to have more kds! if anyone cares about the game theyd take their kd off the lower worlds and move onto fant NOW before the game dies completely. all it takes is for one of the remaining kds to disband and the game will never recover from it
15:59:10 Oct 10th 14 - TheBornLoser* (Mr. Pennywise The Clown):* Shyers, Bran, the issue is that I will most probably be going on another one of my breaks after this Nirvana era ends. Basically, a lot of my crew is lacking the motivation to play the game era in era out. Real life is kicking in - Mike is very busy with work, Terence has a new girlfriend, Ivan / Chade is going to be a father very soon, etc. I myself have so many hats on that I would like to take the VU hat off for a bit. In addition, about half my kingdom is already in Fantasia. I believe Ivan, Stormy, Aussie and Sky are in your kingdom. Kobu is in MAD.That just leaves Dalak, Von Darkmoor, Terence and myself (Mike has not been playing for the past two eras) as the only Valar players not on Fantasia. I can't form a kingdom with only 4 players. And I've reached the point in life where I prefer to play with familiar faces than be forced to invest time getting to know and lead new folks. Ultimately, one of this game's key failures is that there is no more new blood coming into the game after old timers retire. I remember the last great batch of new players to join the game was the Warbook gang. That was about 4 years ago. After that, it was dribs and drabs - Stormcloaks are the last small bunch of enthusiastic newer players to have embraced the game. Today, almost no one new comes in, and those who do do not last. And the reasons for the lack of new blood is simple. This game has lost its appeal to the old timers (we're all sick of too many basic mistakes and errors happening - if a game can't get its basics correct, how can it go on to greater things? Why should we invest so much time in it?), and the lack of critical mass and publicity (plus the difficult learning curve) does not attract newcomers. Thus, it (the game) is now nearing the end of its death throes. When I joined this game almost 6 years ago, I was struck by the vast potential that it had. This could have been the war game of dreams for many military and strategy enthusiasts, especially those fond of Civilization type games and old school military maneuvers (like me). Unfortunately, like many athletes who never fulfill their great potential, VU is their virtual game equivalent. What a pity.

I like playing on lower worlds where I can finish top 6 and not dedicate my life (but almost) to the game. some people are super active on lower worlds, some not so much. it balances well. fant is log on 16hrs a day and maybe youll live, if you have great support.

On the lower worlds I can miss days and still be top 6. As for new people joining and getting destroyed immiately, well I didn't notice that this era, except for our turncoat.

15:22:39 Oct 14th 14 - Binh* (Mr. Binh Testing):* I login to vu 8 hours a day on a daily basis when I consider myself "active". Still do fine. I only suffer a lot when I log in less than 4 hours a day :D Most people do have jobs and they do sleep. Only some have the lucky job that are near a computer to allow them to login while working. There are a very small minority that are able to login greater than 8 hours each day.
22:56:59 Oct 14th 14 - Mr. Samual: Unfortunately, part the reason I've had to stop playing is for the most part I'm lucky if I can log on twice a day lately which even then at most would only amount to about 20 minutes on the game a day, if I'm lucky. I've bills and rent that won't pay themselves, just don't have enough time in the day to get to play this anymore.

I wouldn't be afraid of someone thats captured empty cities, Id be afraid of someone that slaughtered tens of thousand troops. when someone has that many city caps its means they left a city undefended after conquering it, it gets reconquered and continually reconquered. Or the pez revolted and the persons whos peaz it was, obv doesn't have any troops there so it just gets re taken. cities are a bunch of hogwash. Though alyious deserves number 1, ovbviously
