Hi all...just thought I'd post for this era before my kd , <Poodles> was completely dead. <long post warning>

We came up from Valhalla mainly to get a feel for fantasia both militarily and diplomatically. We knew that a 7 man kingdom could not be competitive, but did not know whom, if anyone, we should attempt to merge with or whether it would be possible to recruit. Also, we've won our third era on Valhalla as Stormcloaks, and wondered if we should migrate to the most? competitive world. Truthfully, my kingdom also needs to get its rear end kicked....more on that later.

First of all, Fantasia seems very different militarily mainly because of the size of the kingdoms. These huge kingdoms allow a few people to be early attackers or blockers, and then for many people to follow their ultimate farming strategy for endgame play. Militarily, Fantasia also changes the ratio of kingdom members to blockers, creating the possibility of true stalemates, with multiple AOTDing defenders, especially on this map. We also learned that 100k mages is inadequate defence for a blocker....but by that point it was irrelevant because the Legacy armies were twice the size of our top armies anyway.

Diplomatically, I see no real difference between Fantasia and the other worlds I've played on. People are people. As the midgame approached, I was <wrongfully> disappointed with Immortals..not because of any misconduct on their part, but because I felt their strategy would doom the world to a victory by the front runner (Legacy).

All the remaining kingdoms had launched offensives vs. Legacy, and Legacy had yet to produce their endgame armies. Feckers took a few outer blockers, KT took a 90k, and we temporarily took a dozen cities. This type Nazgul forcemarch tactic often breaks 10 man kingdoms, but Legacy was too large for this to work here.

Through my spy city in the north mid area I could see Immortals launch several armies at the Legacy blocker, but Immortals also launched a western offensive on the rebuildng Monkeys. Immortals had not responded to our early diplo efforts, so we could not afford to let Immortals eat up Monkeys all the way to our doorstep. Thus we had to divert two players and half of our magic to fight Immortals, rather than Legacy. Monkeys was also diverted, as was I think KT. To me, the sole opportunity to defeat the front runner was lost.

In hindsight, I was wrong on two counts. Immortals and Feckers (I assume them allied) have gained enought that they might be competitive with Legacy and Mad. Furthermore, because of the nature of this map, I don't think Immortals had much choice. Immortals sole access to Legacy was down a single narrow corrider; the gains of the smaller kingdom were probably due to Legacy devoting a huge part of their effort to making sure Immortals did not break that blocker. With the death of the smaller kingdoms, stalemate might still be avoided. Stalemate strikes me as a real possibility, however, as Feckers and Immortals could block their half of the map with a total of five blockers, each with 5 defenders...

I am not sure that I like the huge kingdoms on the top worlds. The huge kingdom size invites, perhaps requires, farming for endgame as a strategy. And farming is a bit dull.

I keep telling my kingdom mates that the players on these upper worlds are actually better, or at least more knowledgeable, but for the most part, they don't believe me. So...we need to get our rear end kicked, but not by a kingdom twice our size. It is in that spirit, that I challenge the top kingdoms to pick 10 people each and come down to Valhalla to see if their knowledge and experience can defeat our energy (and face to face planning meetings <...Poodles are from a rl wargaming club>.

Valhalla will end in a day or two. Message me if you are coming down and want us to wait a couple extra days to get organized. I sincerely hope that we will not have our 4th era win.

Wait kingdoms are disbanding on Nirvana? We were hoping to have as many active kingdoms as possible when we land on Nirvana.

Anyway Timur, you guys did alright this era, especially with an inexperienced and smaller kingdom, I would take you up on the challenge but as Binh said the 50% rule is an annoyance and I only ever played worlds with the 50% rule when I wanted to be inactive. So unless you guys are willing to move to Nirvana I'd respectfully decline.

Not to take anything away from you guys (As I have watched you guys play on Valhalla) but I have to remind you of a few eras ago where I orc city dropped you guys and if it wasnt for my kingdom nearly dieing (And then eventually dieing) the outcome would have been different. Put that in a situation where I (Or someone better than me, say Binh) have a kingdom that can successfully defend the city droppers eco cities would have a very different outcome. Or even if say 2 people city drop you guys :P

TBL you're funny, I'm only 13 and can tell that you're a moron that has to compensate real life issues on here.

What I told Timur was constructive criticism, I have played with Timur in the same kingdom (Still do), I introduced him to higher worlds, I've taught him smaller details of the game and I would consider him a VU mate of mine.

You really need to stop trolling, we laugh at your ignorance (And honestly parts of your stupidity) and its obvious to everyone. And the only reason I'm wasting my time on replying to you is because I feel the need to explain to everyone else that it was constructive criticism and that Timur and I get on quite well. That and the fact that I am happy to engage in the challenge he set. (I was actually considering joining SC {His valhalla kingdom} when they free up space and I can be stuffed to play more than 1 world for the duration of an era.

Its OK Pure, you'll grow up, mature and hopefully, get a better perspective on things :) I really do understand where you're coming from right now.... after all, I was a total fool and moron at your age too, but I grew out of it :D But hopefully, as you grow older, you won't turn out to be the absolute nincompoop that Wilberforce is. God knows what kind of education system churned out this guy :S

And one of the key things you must not learn from Wilberforce is poor comprehension. For example, Wilber failed to understand that I am criticising him for being condescending and patronising to newer / weaker players when he beats them up. I was never critical of him beating newer / weaker players - there is no way to avoid that in ANY gameplay (computer games or otherwise). I was however, critical of the presumptuous and arrogant way he has always gone about "consoling" these players. Some of the things he has written in past threads made me retch.

Another thing that makes me view Wilberforce with sheer disdain is his hypocrisy. As I said previously... when he gets bashed by better players, there is always a "convenient excuse" lying about. Pluck a standard excuse out of the bag - mass NAPs, or farming, or feeding, etc. He just never acknowledges that the people that kill him day in day out are just "purely" better then him. Totally different 'tude then when he wipes floor with newer / weaker players and then "consoles" them.

Yes, ex Buffet / Beothuk members do lurk on the lower worlds. Yes, ex Buffet / Beothuk members do kill a lot of new / weaker players (often too). But no, ex Buffet / Beothuk players do not condescend or patronise these players when we win. And no, ex Buffet / Beothuk players do not give shitty stupid excuses when we get beaten every now and then. They just learn from their experience and come back and do better. Or more importantly, they don't take this GAME very seriously.

That's the difference between a loser and a winner.
