Good vs Evil round 6
23:18:57 May 27th 15 - Mr. Battlemaster Wrex:

al I good orImage result for evil spongebob mermaid man

23:22:15 May 27th 15 - Binh (Mr. Binh The Swordsmen):

you're evil wrex

00:13:13 May 28th 15 - Mr. Battlemaster Wrex:

ty good sir

08:47:03 May 28th 15 - Mr. Barny:

My apologies for shitting up rounds. My tendon issue has unable to use a computer for very long and out of my mind.

At a glance I recognized Shyer's name on the KD list so I promoted him to King. Evil can sort out leadership, won't be able to play this round.

10:25:08 May 28th 15 - Prince Chade:

its a shame, Barny...hope your tendon sorts itself sooner rather than later ;)

10:45:50 May 28th 15 - Mr. Very Evil Bad Dude:

Ouch... not good.
Soooo... as per the match up process Binh - Barny
I think Binh should retire this era :)

15:03:49 May 28th 15 - Prince Chade:

or play with only units lvl 1s and 2s only :D

21:08:49 May 30th 15 - Mr. Tod L Fondler:

Just OOP and Good is already winning? Gosh!

16:00:37 Jun 2nd 15 - Bran (Mr. Legitimate Llama):

our core is collapsing, i dont think its jumping the gun at all to think we are close to losing.

how will the era come to an end without magic 9?

how will we make the teams actually balanced in the future?

16:18:58 Jun 2nd 15 - Binh (Mr. Binh The Swordsmen):

Evil is missing Barny. But that alone shouldn't cause the collapse of an entire kd. I think the difference is in the organization of both kd.

Good has taken initiative to drop several orcs in evil. While evil also having several orcs only did 1 core drop. Good has defense in core areas, while evil fail to defend theirs. Good has majority of people gear for oop fighting. Evil instead have lots of elves which are naturally weak in oop.

Overall, Evil just need better leadership/communication for an effective kd strat for next era.

16:20:55 Jun 2nd 15 - Mr. Very Evil Bad Dude:

nah, we got 6 players, and a bunch of farmers.

16:28:45 Jun 2nd 15 - Bran (Mr. Legitimate Llama):

and what happens if you tell the kd what they need to do, and they dont do it?
what happens if the vets in our kd are less active or late starters, while the vets of your kd are all active and dropping in our core?

that said, im willing to keep the teams the same, we jsut need to adapt. i dont think making major adjustments to teams every era is a good thing we need some sort of continuity so we are able to try and even the score and to learn from our mistakes

16:38:56 Jun 2nd 15 - Mr. Very Evil Bad Dude:

On our kd list, I have 16 players I could kick for not even being bothered to do anything but build a useless city. They havent contributed a single defensive troop, let alone offensive troop, and added no value to the kd. So next era, that list will be the peeps I feed on. Evil has a new tactic!
fuck you if you wanna bitch, then bitch away, because those useless twats waste peoples time and shouldn't have signed up for this map.

16:44:38 Jun 2nd 15 - TheBornLoser (Sir The Dung Beetle):

I personally think the teams should be mixed up era to era. I think that is one of the true attractiveness of G v E - no two teams are ever the same going into the next era.

Regarding telling the kingdom what they need to do and they do not do it - we had some of the same problems in Good as well. I nearly popped a vein in my brain because of a player or two (no names needed). I can understand your predicament, Bran.

Even without Barney playing, Evil's team was still very supposed to be strong (well, at least reputation wise :P). Yourself, Bling, Ali, Noa, Stormy, Aussie, Briefcase, JLT, etc. should have given team Evil a solid core of players. I would definitely put personnel capabilities as the last reason behind Evil's issues this era.

Just some of my humble 0.02.

(and bloody magic still sucks even after my return to VU, meh!!!)

16:49:23 Jun 2nd 15 - Binh (Mr. Binh The Swordsmen):

"and what happens if you tell the kd what they need to do, and they dont do it?"

haha the same thing happen to us this era. I "encourage everyone to settle small starter cities" so they don't end up blocking others from settling towns and have bad income from having no bonus. 1 players manage not to listen and block several of our players from settling their first town straight away. You just have to accept these facts when playing gve with random peoples.

"what happens if the vets in our kd are less active or late starters, while the vets of your kd are all active and dropping in our core?"

Well, to me the active core is what really matter. How you distribute them can make or break an era. If you had two more active guys like bling to eat our core instead of having them all defending your core. Then both teams would've suffer core troubles instead of one side defending and one side attacking situation as it is now.

Fighting on enemy's ground is always better than fighting in your ground when a win only mean you manage to save your cities and a loss mean you loss a city.

16:52:43 Jun 2nd 15 - Mr. Tony Montana:

Well next era, I will be bringing my two brothers, and er my sister... oh and two cousins to play... and I take offense right now for accusations of them being multis o_0

16:55:59 Jun 2nd 15 - Binh (Mr. Binh The Swordsmen):

honestly though. If TBL still play, changing him to evil might balance the team again unless barny get back.

16:58:57 Jun 2nd 15 - Mr. Very Evil Bad Dude:

TBL was always evil. He is just lost. But no fear, my nazzies will convince him of the darkside.

17:00:27 Jun 2nd 15 - Mr. Golliwog The Black:

In the good channel I called that you guys would bitch about losing even after gaining some very experienced vets that didnt put their name down and imo out weighed good in skilled players. It comes down to what Binh and TBL said. Leadership, you obviously suck at it and you guys even knew that we were going to core drop!

Bling you failed in your core drop harder than the abortion Bran's mum tried to have. Surprisingly I can't really fault bran, maybe his blocker doesnt quite block? does it get bigger? I dont really care.

It comes down to Good's leadership barking orders down their throats, I had a structured era plan you guys obviously didn't. Its also the fact that we core droppers targeted key players (Well atleast I did) Taking out majority of Ali's income oop pretty much took a lot of his impact out of the era. Then I targeted cheesy who imo has been one of the better oopers past few eras

17:04:39 Jun 2nd 15 - Mr. Very Evil Bad Dude:

The only saving grace you feckers had was that chade put enough scouts out to stop me targeting TBL.
So one player changed your era, nothing you did as I had everyone of your armies outgunned in our core, so blow smoke somewhere else.

17:12:45 Jun 2nd 15 - Mr. Todd L Fondler:

I can honestly say i havent done squat all. I realized within 48h that it was over and good had prevailed. Lost its charm by then.

Great work teammates!

17:28:49 Jun 2nd 15 - TheBornLoser (Sir The Dung Beetle):

22:55:59 Jun 2nd 15 - Binh (Mr. Binh The Swordsmen):

honestly though. If TBL still play, changing him to evil might balance the team again unless barny get back.

Well, let's see how things go. We'll work out Round 7 later.

23:04:39 Jun 2nd 15 - Mr. Very Evil Bad Dude:
The only saving grace you feckers had was that chade put enough scouts out to stop me targeting TBL.

Why do you hate me, Blingypoo? ;(

17:39:01 Jun 2nd 15 - Mr. Golliwog The Black:

Guess what Bling, I sent 2 mass messages in regards to using scouts to block you and 4 in game messages. I also sent Skype messages to those on skype. Plz tell me how I didnt do anything.

Stronger than any army in your core? Are you referring to the 14k gaia you originally attacked with oop and then the 11k gaia and 1.3k hammers you had in your armory a day later? And you're comparing that to the 40k gaia I attacked with and the 10k gaia I left in my armory? u hvin a lauf m8?

You're as useful as John Carver at Newcastle.

17:44:48 Jun 2nd 15 - Mr. Very Evil Bad Dude:

John Carver said he was the greatest manager, and who are we to argue him.

And for Gollitwat... i dropped right next to your city and you didnt send shit out to come get me. Instead, you got a couple peeps to attack, before binh managed to get me on the his third attempt i think... all that time you sat shitting in case i took your income out.

TBL... dont hate you babes... I just know the real brains behind the kd, and that was important to deal with.

The only TRUE surprise Good made, and that was Kob being the REAL offensive player. His city was the only one we were worried about.

17:53:08 Jun 2nd 15 - Mr. Aisha III:

GvE seems fun :) Considering it will not be shatteredworlds map I will join GvE next era in Evil team.

18:00:02 Jun 2nd 15 - Mr. Golliwog The Black:

m8 you're as deluded as a liverpool fan! What city are you talking about? Never realised that 10 scout ticks was considered close oop. I wasn't worried one bit about you taking out my income it was nicely tucked away, kinda like your virginity, don't worry no one will be taking it from you.

Aisha how do you know it wont be shatteredworlds next round? We've had shattered for the past 4 eras I think. Also you cant elect to choose a team so openly, we will have a sign up then it will be drafted. Bling will complain either way though.

18:25:10 Jun 2nd 15 - Mr. Very Evil Bad Dude:

I aint complaining... you're a twat and we all know it, so no complaints there

18:30:35 Jun 2nd 15 - Mr. Aisha III:

Oh so its random with possibility of same map? Did not know that, thought its random with exception of map that was active, my bad. If you keep same teams I can join Evil to help even up active players is what I meant.

19:03:30 Jun 2nd 15 - Mr. Golliwog The Black:

I'd like a change, don't know why it continually occurs on gve. Pretty sure the first era was a different map though.

Evil has plenty of active and skilled players, just bling is having a cry as we Have embarrassed him 2 eras in a row now.

Just keep an eye out for the gve round 7 sign up thread. Put your name down then whatever form of drafting process we do decide upon draft you to either side and repost on forums.

23:38:12 Jun 2nd 15 - Stephen Ben (Mr. Josef Fritzl):

I'll back Bling on this. I played with Good and I know Pure is a taskmaster but I don't even think he could have drew any more blood from this rock.

In VU there are many types of players - some include;
1.Silent Assasins - Don't respond, do their job
2. Imma Boss - Loud, do their job
3.Oaf - Active, listen a little, do stupid things like small armies repeatedly to the slaughter instead of making a good army
4.Snorlax - Experienced people, not really arsed, sometimes do stuff, sometimes don't
5.Slowpoke - Not sure how active as they never respond and never do anything apparent like build an army or volunteer to do a blocker

Unfortunately this era our merry band of Bosses and Assasins climbed aboard S.S. Slowpoke being sunk by the weight of some Snorlax this era. Imean come on, I was elf - you think I would have dropped an arms beside Kobu unless I hadn't already realised we didn't have anyone responding to our warcry. Still i thought i could do it, then the new orc by Landan, i hoped someone would handle it...again no real action so I split myself in defending Landan and trying to outpump an orc as an elf....yes, i am serious - stop sniggering TBL. Alas, it would have been hard enough doing one of the two and Landan fell. No amount of leadership can make dead weight be anything other than dead weight.

Just an example of my attempts to be our Pure;

Hi All,

So Good have cracked our blocker and the valiant efforts of a few are unlikely to stop a flood of Good armies that will no doubt be on their way. That doesn't mean we won't try but while the likes of Evul, Llama, Briefcase, Bling, Stormy, Skeeter, Frank Einstein,Cheesey and myself entertain our guests and cripple our own eras (Milt3,Min5,Mag3 - Super Elf Build). Can I please ask to see some movement from others to confirm you are infact Alive (mages not included).

Had everyone pulled their weight Good wouldn't have such a foothold - Kobu was restricted, Avacyn has been fairly poor, TBLover and Gollywog only needed 1 more fighter each to tip the balance against them and we could have eaily helped Llama hold the blocker - all it would have taken was 2-3 more people to contribute, but there's no point dwelling on mistakes.

*redacted*
*redacted*
*redacted*

We asked for blockers OOP and only 1 was built and 5-ish? days into the era, it is still the only blocker built - mind blowing to be honest.

So please, for those who have wasted so many hours trying to keep us alive - do something.

If in 24 hours time *redacted*  and people who havent fought all era still havent shown they have an army to use or something of significance to help the KD - we feed you to our actual players. So you better start posting in the forums or launching a farmed up army head first at Binh

/rant

00:32:50 Jun 3rd 15 - Mr. Very Evil Bad Dude:

As a KD we may have failed, but it wasn't for the lack of trying by the few, who were let down by the many. So fuck it... no bullshit... next era I feed on them... and that is a VERY legitimate war tactic, no matter how much its frowned on

00:50:11 Jun 3rd 15 - Stephen Ben (Mr. Josef Fritzl):

Era isnt over. Get back to fighting

01:16:07 Jun 3rd 15 - Mr. Thaiboylover:

TBlover. Makes it sound so dirty

01:46:22 Jun 3rd 15 - Mr. Golliwog The Black:

Ali, Mass messaging isn't enough, it comes down to micro managing. I will get a response rate of up to 90% when I individually message someone compared to a lucky 3 or 4 doing what I say from a mass message. If they don't respond pester them until they do.  Just think back to last era (Or scan your inbox) how many times did I Private message you last era to know what you were doing? Fortunately you were (as you put it) a silent assassin, I didn't have to worry much at all. Although the dwarf that attacked with you towards the later stage I messaged him a fair bit more.

Also at the start of the era you determine which players you can rely on and these become your key players, you use these guys for blocker buildings and other key areas. It just showed the leadership couldn't be arsed. For example you guys have Aussie, a good player that will follow instructions, I recognised that last era and asked him to build a blocker, he did so quite quickly.

02:53:58 Jun 3rd 15 - Stephen Ben (Mr. Josef Fritzl):

huh my long post didn't post.

more or less said, yes you are right - but nobody on Evil can/wants to micro manage as it is a KD game and if people need baby sat they shouldn't play + as a result I will also be indulging in a romantic meal for 2 with Bling eating these players if I land with any of them again.

Idea:
Can we make a purgatory KD that accepts all new starters and turn off auto accept on Good and Evil, so we can vet people coming in? If they have a rep for being lazy/useless then neither KD will end up taking them and they prove themselves in the purgatory KD.
Nominate Barny for leader of the as he is still off with broken penor and won't need to lead them

03:15:59 Jun 3rd 15 - Mr. Very Evil Bad Dude:

If I wanted to play secretary, I'd sit messaging everyone.
If players wanna farm, this aint the map for it. Go to fant.. my kd there does there own thing. We aint there to win, we got no chance against 2 kds 10x our size, we just there to cause shit and break stuff, and throw a few spanners in the wheel. Go to zeta if u wanna farm.. shit there hasnt been a fight there in 2 weeks and everyone is growing rich in peace. This map is for people who want to pitch themselves outside of the norm, risking playing with strangers, fighting with the best against the best... not fucking farm...
Ali, i'll bring the wine.. happy feasting

03:53:53 Jun 3rd 15 - The Real Josh (Archangel Avacyn):

"Avacyn has been fairly poor,"

Little harsh don't you think

07:28:06 Jun 3rd 15 - Mr. Tod L Fondler:

I havent done anything at all this era and i dont think i will either. Good just destroyed evil to fast for me to react this time. Orc droppers maka-me mad.

09:38:05 Jun 3rd 15 - TheBornLoser (Sir The Dung Beetle):

INITIATE TL / DR POST! THOSE WHO CAN'T BE BOTHERED TO READ, PLEASE EFF OFF!

*reads Ali's post*

*snigger*

*cough cough* *straighten face* :P

Ahem, well, since every one is airing out their hearts now, I'll just put out a couple more points about what I have seen this era:

1) The Good Skype channel has the same old 7 retards (Binh, Osi [aka TBL #2], Pure, Slade, Chade, Terence, myself) talking again and again to one another.... in a kingdom of 20! I swear we are only a kingdom of 7 judging by our Skype channel convos.

2) We have our fair share of Snorlaxes and Slowpokes. Trust me, like Evil, Good isn't operating at 100% capacity of what it is capable of. No names will be named to keep civility :P

3) I actually think OOP wars require a lot of micro-managing. Especially when:

i) in a kingdom with new faces and newbies and where chemistry has not developed yet;
ii) one mistake can mean losing a city, one victory can mean taking a critical city, one defeat can mean you are set back 10 - 20 ticks (not good for OOP war);
iii) multiple and / or simultaneous series of moves are required in order to maximise the chances of just one victory or minimise the chances of one defeat;
iv) you are playing with or against nutcases who have too much VU activity on their hands... like me, sometimes... :P :P
v) you have uncommunicative or less serious folk who just cannot see the kingdom's grand strategy, the mini strategies needed to make the grand strategy a success, and their roles or required contributions in them.

Those who treat this game seriously (or at least treat the time invested by themselves and other active, serious players as value) will have to "start the engines" of those who do not take this game as seriously, who could not be bothered with a loss (no matter how one-sided or embarrassing the loss is), or who are just here to "take a jaunt around the landscape without due care or regard to their teammates" (mouthful of words there).

4) The farmers have their role in the OOP game. For example, I would only be able to contain a core-dropping orc of Pure's, Kobu's or the other wannabe TBL's (Osi's) level with my own OOPers. To completely flush them out, would require some semi-farmed human, halfling or dwarf coupled with heavy mage support to finally take down the armoury. The trick is to know which ACTIVE and OBEDIENT :P player can be relied upon to do the farming, protect him until he gets a "flushing-level" army on the field, then support him as he flushes the toile.... armouries out of the way.

5) I still think that the Evil core group of players is equal to the Good core. I'd take a Noa, an Ali, a Stormy, an Aussie and a Blingy, etc. into any 30 player, Fantasia fighting, old-school days kingdom led by me in a heartbeat.

6) Ultimately, in a chess match (and this is ultimately what a binary contest like Good versus Evil is), one needs to know HOW TO and WHEN TO activate the pieces at his disposal. OOPers are needed, semi-farmers are needed, and the odd full farmer or two is needed in the very unlikely event the game goes into overtime. Mages who can mage OOP, mages who can mage several days OOP so that the OOP mage can do up his economy and sciences. The key is to plan and stagger peoples' roles as best as you can. And make sure people stick to the roles they agreed upon.

However, the players who can switch around their roles / strategies when unexpected contingencies pop up will always be my most valued comrades.

7) Players who do not bother to drop blockers but happily farm safely behind them are the worst (Skype finger).

8) Ultimately, there's a difference between the leaders and those who want to win compared to the followers, the glory hounds, and those who do not give a fecking feck about the team or the game. The former have to put in a lot more work and effort, and the latter may dishonestly or despicably steal all their credit! (like Wilber)

Need to know how to sift through which is the former, and which is the latter.

And which is why vets in VU always prefer to play with the folks they are familiar with, and not with untested, unproven noobs :D (or people like Wilber)

10:00:02 Jun 3rd 15 - Mr. Very Evil Bad Dude:

Thats it... after reading all that,, imma kill the whole kd and win the game after casting infinite farting spells. be done with.

11:17:18 Jun 3rd 15 - Stephen Ben (Mr. Josef Fritzl):

The long and short of it is;

Good core all geared for OOP and core drop
Evil found this out but our over eager core had already dropped in a variety of roles planning to have skilled players effective at all times of the era.

Options;
1)Core drop good too - likely loss as we only found this out around the time kobu cannonballed towards our core so we would always be playing catch up. The late start by your orcs also made my prediction for your core to be about 4-5 ticks force march west of where it actually is (and forced us to stop pre OOP farming 5 ticks earlier expecting you to come OOP at the same time)

2)Ask any OOP race players to step up - this is what we did as soon as we found out. 2 people tried to stop city drops initially.  Once the armorys started popping up and only a few players reacting, our active players did what they had to. You targeted our strong players so our only option was to defend our strong players (I didn't fit the requirement apparently).

In hindsight had I left Kobu to Frank Einstein he probably could have kept him in check alone and I could have stopped gollywog with just one focal point and the ability to get magic 4. God how I long to freeze and MW

Regardless it was a good tactic, it caught us off guard and put us on the back foot.

I don't think the era is over, much like 2 eras ago - good we knocked back but put up a valiant effort to fight back and hoped for a mistake to turn the tide.

Also - Binh should resign, it was player match up era and with Barny gone Binhs input should be removed. Please vacate all cities and relinquish the blocker. Thank you :)

18:09:11 Jun 3rd 15 - Mr. Very Evil Bad Dude:

sad when the poor feckers gotta go buy bt's to try defeat us.
dont worry, I can afford to drop $1k for next era JUST for shits and giggles. Next era, Evil goes BT baby

19:27:23 Jun 3rd 15 - Mr. Thaiboylover:

19:30:19 Jun 3rd 15 - Mr. Very Evil Bad Dude:

19:37:34 Jun 3rd 15 - Mr. Thaiboylover:

Astounding and witty come back, good work old chum.

19:47:47 Jun 3rd 15 - Mr. Very Evil Bad Dude:

was that a fart or were you trying to say something??

19:49:54 Jun 3rd 15 - Binh (Mr. Binh The Swordsmen):

That's one long fart if it was a fart :D

19:54:31 Jun 3rd 15 - Mr. Very Evil Bad Dude:

Cant be as bad as logging into skype this morning to a picture of shyers butt in the skype chat!!!

20:31:02 Jun 3rd 15 - Bran (Mr. Sly Sloth):

i get that all the time, to the poiint where if i wake up and havent received a picture of his butt then i assume somethings wrong

01:40:58 Jun 4th 15 - Mr. Golliwog The Black:

Bling did you know that you get free bonus turns  for linking VU? :O Shock horror. You go out and buy bt whilst I try to bring more people to the game and save money :)
