Yes...I learn alot...I now I can have 1500 Ghosts OOP, and someone is able to hit me with 5k...no clue how b/c I cannot see into his cities to see how he created them or what not...so the fact that he can create the 5k doesn't really get me much BUT is indeed new info...

Baptism by fire does not create good players(or rarely does). More often it creates players that leave. This baptism by fire is the process that has been done in this game before, correct? And the game is also losing players (Vets leaving, no nubs staying....that are not "spares" of other players)...Perhaps there is a connection?

All im saying is, rather than you all just give up before the fight even begins, atleast give it a shot. Not cry all over the forums the second you find out your landing on Fant. Then blame it on all the top kingdoms NAPing each other, because trust me, they didnt, a few did in fairness...unluckily you landed next to those ones. But you should have looked around, seen if any were fighting the same foes as you, some were. Then done you best to fight them off and hoped those you had the same enemies as would come to your assistance.

But the mentalilty of, OH! im only on my 2nd era, i dont stand a chance cant have helped. You want a fun game, whats more fun than fighting what seems to be a long way out of your league? Especially if you manage to hold your own

Maybe we should have 1 single world where people can go to 'have fun' as you call it....just one. Then 2-3 other worlds where people can challenge themselves.

This baptism by fire is the process that has been done in this game before, correct?

Baptism by fire was the way the game was a LONG time ago. When this game was in its peak, when the majority of the games current best players were joining, except those that have been around forever.

What happened for the past 1.5years maybe is a nanny culture where new players try to learn the game on zetamania but instead get bashed by poor-average players who refuse to challenge themselves against the best and so, it breeds equally poor players

Actually...your biggest mistake was joining all your mates, then expecting to just know the game....and pissing on the batteries of the older players, who had you asked in a semi civilized manner for help....would gladly have helped the starters. Problem with the peeps coming through the ranks, is that after 10 minutes of playing they feel they can do as they please.

Most of the great players have done their time in different KD's, under different leaders learning the techniques of the game. Like how to OOP with something effective to fight with. They have earned their rank through experience..not because they happen to be in the same 2nd grade class as their mate.

That is my normal vocabulary, I'm pretty old so I've acquired a few words. ^_^ Old is a big hint specific to me only. I'm like to play war games but I'm not real competitive about it. A fun world sounds like fun. I'd expect once I felt comfortable with the game mechanics... I'd want to move up to a challenging world.

I did expect to die but I went down fighting. I see that as a realistic expectation and not defeatism. Another sign of my age perhaps.

I did not give up, I died. I did not agree with being placed on Fant with only 2 and a bit eras under my belt. I did agree that if our players wanted to have fun then we need to quickly relocate to a lesser world. I stand by that. I can't speak for my teammates and I don't think we should all be judged by individual players posts. Some of our players elected to stay on Fant.

I ran a training KD for 3 era's. I also trained 2/3rds of the Preds players who have since gone on to become good players in their own right. At its hight, we were close on 30 players. They are now fighting in CE, Burnt, IPF, KoH, Military from those I can still see by name. I took what I learned and passed it on, improving on it as the game changed.

Problem now, is players want instant success without the time...and they dont take the time to ask questions...I went down to Zeta to train but thats were the *beep*ty KD's do mass naps like last era...so while it was a great training exercise...i had responsibilities too in winning and fighting for the kd.

Umm we made one Nap with Comenius and one Map with Mystical, we learned the game form the best player on the world who then joined us, we never whined about getting *beep*canned we were rightfully pissed at the retard admin dropping us in fant WITHOUT EVEN ASKING US. Most of the so called veterans in this game are asshats, who would rather talk trash liek Pimple than take the time to teach the *beep*s so we would p-refer to learn on our own on a lower world and then come play with the so called big boys, this game is also about building relationships we built one with Oblivion who protected us as we rebuilt in darks first era and we returned the favour by hammering out ODC and burnt in the second.

Pimp talks like he didnt get his ass handed to him last era but he keeps bringing it up, frankly I am not impressed with many of the vets , I am lucky enough to have met a few tho who were decent.

I had 800 troops by the time i came oop, I took a city and fought back but pimple for all his talk had to have his buddie*beep* me lol. its interesting how some people hads *beep*loads of troops coming oop tho. either way if the asshat admin pulls another stunt like this forcing us onto a world without even asking us I will be deleting my account and probably getting most of the people I recruited to do the same.

Someone should take all those zillions of guides and put them into 1 simple beginner's guide. There are a lot of small nuances in VU, but there are some key points that every beginner should know, e.g. no rainbow cities, build in 1:5 ratio, what sciences do, etc.

Ok, some things you guys need to understand

Yes , landing on Fant was a harsh mistake by Zeta
You should have seen this as an opportunity to grow and have a challenge
You should have sent a message to a few kingdoms about a possible CF while you guys relocated, this has been done in the past
You should have *beep*med some scouts out and re settled in a new location, another world is now the best place even without a CF/Relation
You shouldn't have cried all about it, just makes people like me get my beating gloves on
As Ali pointed out, theres a good amount of players who are willing to give a hand, but you will most proberly message LGC who cba to reply as they are having interkingdom related sexual relations
Try messaging a range of people , message me for god sake!
Actually LOOK at the guides
Come back to Fant next era with a new kingdom that has grown , moulded and got some new recruits a bit more
Gloating about your kingdom " The Birth of the Empire " is like asking for a flame

What a load of bull ...

First of all, VU is a crap game for beginners? Zeta couldn't possibly made it any easier for new players compared to my starting days ...

I wondered days getting my ass handed over to me by auspice and his crew on mantrax. Then I spawned on fantasia contacted a few kingdoms and they let me in. (Templar elites <3 At the time they were pretty small, but they thought me a few basic things to survive). After they disbanded I landed once again on fant and ASKED a big kingdom they could train me, etc. They did and from that moment till now I only grew.

To make a long story short:

ASK,
BE OPEN FOR ADVICE,
APPLY WHAT YOU HAVE LEARNED,
BECOME GOOD.

If you might have the guts to finally ask something to veterans and guys that know how to play this game, you will never ever reach something in this game. I know it should be fun, but I assume it's not much of fun getting your ass handed to you every era again and again?

Before you go out insulting players who know how to play the game again, that they intimidate new players, be aware that most of them trained allot of players. Aligreat is my kingdommate and I've known him for quite some time now (unfortunately <3). He is the type of player you should contact and he'll teach you everything you need to know to become one of the best, just like most of the fant players.

In my opinion, all you guys been doing was just burning your own bridges to get helpful hints and tips for this game from vets and exp. players ...

Relentless, the 2 way street will only get there if you respond to a veteran or experienced player with the respect acquired, as you want to get info from him. They don't have to explain all about the game to you. So a motivation for the experienced players would be your friendliness towards them.
That's how I work though. :)

i think these updates this era have been the BEST in a long time. it puts the fant players with all the other players indirectly. When i started there was no tutorial world and no lesser worlds only fant. I had my ass handed to me many times. I have also been in many kingdoms and have received much advice. according to my memory and the highscores ive been in Legion of Doom, NARRSE, Phi, Sheol, Retribution, mirror, erm i was also in a kingdo mthat Adelbert led for an era but couldnt find that haha.

I have made friends played with them and agaisnt them (which is also as much fun as playing with them) and i have had different advice from different people. I would not say im vet skilled or even super good. Id say im average but i have been palying for lots of eras and probobly 3-4 years.

The reason there are many guides is each race is played differently and some people have different strategies to each race. there are even different ways each race can be played. Elf Attacker and Elf Mage. their used to be Dwarf mage as well but thats ahrder now. you can have a late starting orc or an OOP attacker orc. so since there are different ways to paly there are different guides for each way and such. jsut take your time read through them ask vets for help politly and you wil lgrow.

1- I would have been ok with getting dropped in HAD THE RETARD GIVEN US SOME NOTICE I wouldnt have been happy as I am one of Darks leaders and I am learning the nuances of the game myself.

2- some of the Vets are pretty decent people, we are lucky to have one in Holly, however all the " I got hammered out in my first eras so you should too" nerds need to realise that this game is not overflowing with new blood, I am personally responsible for bringing in 13 new players from another game because I like this one, I liked that you could take your time and learn the game as well as how to be a team and I enjoy having my friends in MY alliance.

3- Pimple is a nerd and the biggest whiner.

4- I was one of the last ones from Empire to delete I took someones city and moved around before deciding to go to the other world, so no I didnt just quit and neither did most of us we were just disapointed with the way this was done.

5- We were friendly and open, our diplo was rebuffed several times, another reason why dropping *beep*s is so friggin stupid, anyone who has played with us knows we are honorable and keep our word, that said not many of them were on fantasia because WE ARE *beep*S ffs, either way we are on a smaller world and will continue despite having wasted time on fant , hopefully the admin uses huis brain and doesnt do this again.

Facts:
5-10+ Eras player Vs 1-2 Eras experience player = free cities for those experienced players.

Since the choice of starting locations is pre-arranged by VU Admins.
Therefore: Either the admins have no clue what they are doing
OR they are incorporating this with certain players or kingdoms.

I played this game for like 3-4 eras now, i got defeated a lot of times and No complaints, i really liked that game though i found it impossible to learn from its lacking guides and misinformation around But i kept on trying things out and learning until i have reached a level of understanding to game play.

I invited Vampire Queen, and she in turn invited many of her friends including Sir Ryan. I witnessed the joining of 10s of new real gamers who wanted to learn and play honestly since they got fed up of online games that run like a personal playground for admins. The first era was ok, we were only 4 at that time, we got betrayed by a fallen fant player who left us in the middle of a war and so on. we played the 2nd era with no expectation but to learn, we napped and grew and won the era over well established kingdoms at that period, but still we had many new players and most of us made fatal mistakes as we were all learning including me.

We had a plan to go to Mantrax, but after we spent 1 era on Zetamania to learn and to get our new commers to learn as well.

And now what? thrown in Fantasia! and when we told the admin he replied saying that he didnt know maybe one of our players joined by mistake! :D what mistake? and the admin was not even sure and didnt know?

Anyway, bottom line to all this a lot of those new members who were so enthusiastic about this game are so disappointed to find that its another private club and not a fair game to all players, some of them will not play this era and others are really serious about quitting. So for the game's sake admins be fair to all players and set some fair rules for all players old and new to follow or else this game will fade and will be a memory. mark my words.

So which is it, 3 or 4? My guess is 3, but lets assume it was 4. Well there's only so many times you can die in 4 eras and if you've been killed many times, then your problem isn't fantasia. Now you actually get to play against real competition, and instead of learning anything, you write up a long story about how hard this game is.

We have right now at least 15 players who are here because Nola was invited and she then invited me and we invited several freinds from a game where Nola and I are admins, we know its not easy to be an admin but FFS you dont need to make it harder by being stupid, we may lose several players right off the bat as one of the recruiting things we used was the get your feet wet style of tiered worlds.

either way the admins will learn or they wont, the vets will either realise that games die without New blood or they wont.

Btw my little fracas with Pimple isnt personal to me I just find the fact that he constantly busllhist a little annoying.

I used to be a Pro football player, I didn't jump from bantam to the CFL, I played high school, then Junior, then college, then Pro, learning as I went, if in Bantam (even as a 6-3 230 pounds 13 year old) I was thrown into a pit drill against a 6-5 300 pound NFL all pro, chances are I wouldnt learn much other than how to grab grass. I realise lots of nerds may not get the analogy but hopefully some do.

learning to swim by being thrown in the water is fine, learning to swim by being thrown into a pool filled with sharks maybe not so much.

Kayn, I have several friends on the Als, I was brought to camp by Hamilton, Winnipeg and Edmonton. Its tough for a Canadian D lineman who wont play for the league min.

Our previous game was fun last year before the cheaters and asshats took over, thats why i am bringing people here, we tried Ikariam but its too slow and boring.

as for perserverance we will keep on learning we just didnt wnat to waste our time. Pimple you seem to have a pretty angry attitude , I am sorry if I peed in your cornflakes last era by not following your script and wiping you out but you gotta get over it.

check your facts nubnuts...I never took part in any merge....nor do I or have i ever sat in a blocker. I ran solo down your left flank, into your core and trashed your cities. Pyskee can testify to that as it was her cities I trashed. Holly also got smacked with the rest of her merge on the left flank, when i took over your magic city that Mystical couldnt hold....then smacked that merge for a 6. I dont defend...i go forward at ALL times. I fought to the last day with every troops i had...hell i probably threw pessies at your guys for the hell of it. Fact is...at 8 to 1 odds....i lasted the FULL era. You didnt get through week 1 here.

want a reminder. you were part of resistances merge that thought 10k archies could take on nazzies down ther left. You tried chasing a Nazzie army with a merge. you then popped out of the merge to try catch me and got smacked. As a result, the merge lost half its strength and got sent packing. You even PM'd me asking what was in my army. End of....and dont try lie to save face...
