well holding cities is great but i hate, and you probably agree, musical chairs with cities. i was one army far from home and destroying enemy cities, giving no chance for them to recover(if only i was an orc or we had an orc lead the merge) isn't such a bad idea....and i would get at least 10 mil from any mine i hit, regardless of size plus additional plunder meant I was able to make pretty little archmages for you to slaughter(you killed 70k of them at Kremlin-all funded from pks and daf war spoils)...so it has some merits but I think it would only work as an orc(no cost to raize) or a dwarf with cavers(extra gold from blowing up mines) and the cost for any other race to do the same would be prohibitive. I wasn't so effectual against FLL because that little green fellow stalked me early on and stopped me coming west(as well as Binh) but PKS and Daf would have felt some pain from it. But I agree take AND hold is a better strategy, but wreck everything is certainly better, IMHO, than just having you guys following me and retaking cities and throwing a slave or two in to keep the income going.

This is a personal oppinion of a Beo member, nothing more;

As era comes to an end and FLL realises they have nothing else to do, since all their enemies are about to die, and since they had more allies then enemies all era, they realised it might be boring now till era end. The Arma was casted but from my oppinion they are now asking what to do till era end?

Why not break one of our NAPs so they do not have to wait for era end and lets not give anyone cities from the enemy? Sure, even though they have worked together with all their allies (did the final push at the same time, so we were in trouble, do not know if it was planned but they did all come at the same time) to break our core, they do not want to share spoils now?

It is obvious that PKS merge broke through Peroscoop, and they will be controlling the north area... and now FLL tells them not to go any further? Why? Because it took FLL days to break my blocker?

Not to mention the teamwork that I was talking about:

FLL they were facing something like 35 days prep. Incidentally, it was only a 32% chance on the cast so don't let them blame your magic protection ;)

One of their allies CWed my blocker minute before the tick, I put walls right back, and the CW chance was 32%... that gave FLL chance to take the blocker without preping for 35 days, but no, nobody is giving anyone credit for that?

I think that is quite lame and I did not expect such reaction from you TBL, at least not from you.

Aisha, TBL did not say do not take anything from Beo, they took plenty from you. He was saying, stay away from our side of the spoils. Koss was sending small nazgul armies to reach cities in the area that we broke to take the undefended cities from under us. Many of our players did not get any spoils -all era I might add- yet provided a lot of what had become the successes for our kingdom effectually and indirectly also providing successes for PKS. For your more powerful merges were fighting us. However this is not to say PKS does not deserve spoils, they did their part - as did we. Ergo we just don't want to see players from an allied kingdom take spoils that we deserve as well.

I think of all the cities I took this era, the only production city I took was a small 14.4K lumber city. I took about 12 armouries and blockers, thank you very much Beothuk :P I can train a lot of troops from them if I had the money *chuckle* Oh, and a magic city from Kobu that cost me 36 million gold to raze (dull).

Jasmina, you are wrong on your assumptions. I personally want this freaking era to end ASAP! I had planned to go semi inactive once the main Beothuk merges are destroyed, I am tired of looking at the map and tired of a lot of other things. I would never begrudge PKS their fair share of the spoils, and I expressed my appreciation to Daffs for their help in the blocker crushing... it pushed my chances from 75% at the time I slept with full walls to 99% when it got crushed. You don't see me bitching about them taking cities... I, as a matter of fact, welcome their help to get this era concluded as fast as possible :)

However, the reason why I called out Koss expressly, was because of the way he communicated with Random and I during the era, and because of the disgusting way he posted personal messages on the public forums. If he wants certain principles to be applied in our relations, they must be applied in a fair and two-way manner. Sending flying nazguls to take every single damn city, in the areas which we broke through, even when there are many of my chaps who did not get a single proper war spoil all era as Polydeuces said (which include folks like me, Random, Ridthick, Phoneix, etc,) smacked of hypocrisy. In line with the tone he (Koss) set earlier in the era, I decided to "enforce" the fairness of principle a bit in the tone he set earlier.

Koss has now communicated to me that he is backing down. I, on my part, will back down as well. Time to put this long-drawn, exhausting era to an end. Dueling at old Fantasian levels of competitiveness has a tendency to burn out people out.......

Warning in advance: TL / DR people shouldn't bother here.

Start TL / DR:

Just a few points to note on the "mass NAP" complaint:

1. It was actually us / PKS / Daffs vs Beothuk / Federation. I think people are forgetting about Federation... they had managed to rebuild to a size even bigger than PKS and Daffs, and were tying down EIGHT of our players.

2. PKS was essentially a non factor in this war until nearly at the end. No disrespect meant, but they got killed by Beothuk, spent all their time rebuilding under our defensive cover, wasted time warring Forsaken, and couldn't even stop a Beothuk merge of only about 10 million + OP from raping part of their rebuilt core.

3. The NAPs FLL made were made at the early part. That was when there were about 6 - 7 kingdoms still in the game. The NAP with PKS was done due to tradition - many of the old PKS players are great friends with some of the core FLL players. The NAP with Daffs was made due to geo-strategic reasons - we wanted to avoid the diversion of a second front in order to be able to concentrate all our forces completely northward at Beothuk. The second front did happen nonetheless against my expectations... Federation did a great and "spirited" job of rebuilding and dragging away valuable resources of ours from the Beothuk front. Nonetheless, Beothuk's failure to make its own alliances, safe for that with Federation later, is solely Beothuk's fault. And we can't be faulted for making alliances early in the era, and, as the era progressed, being able to facilitate their growth to fairly significant strength that could then be applied against Beothuk.

4. And speaking of the Federation front, Beothuk missed the boat on capitalising on our divided forces. There was a fairly long window of opportunity where Beothuk had a decisive power advantage vs one of our blockers that Beothuk did not take up. Also, with 2/5th of our players fighting Federation, the opportunities were all available for Beothuk to either i) have overwhelmed us then, or ii) dealt with their own flanking threat in Daffs. Beothuk failed to do either. We succeeded in destroying the rebuilt Federation and digesting their rebuilt core. And the moment that happened, there was no where else to go but up. The long term game was decided then.

5. Lastly, let me point out that Beothuk had many significant advantages over the rest of us, but somehow, were unable to convert those advantages to a decisive victory.

i) Beothuk's players as a group are better than ours overall;

ii) Beothuk had more active merge leaders and mages then us;

iii) Beothuk's OOP to mid era setup was much better than ours;

iv) Beothuk's supply lines to their merge points was shorter than ours;

v) FLL had so many "weak moment" periods, like a) when our elves were still farming up; or b) when 8 of our players had to completely devote 100% of their resources to fighting Federation.

I already stated at the very beginning of the era to my kingdomates that 80% of the era would be a "buying time" strategy - we had to buy time for our elves to finish their farming - then we had to buy time for our Federation team to finish their job - then we had to buy time to get everyone in place, etc. We were ultimately able to buy the time needed and Beothuk failed to capitalise on the time they had. Such are fortunes of war......

End TL / DR.

Anyway, long story cut short, game is essentially over, except for one or two minor "nuisances" to be moped up :P I would have liked to say it was a great era and well played everyone, but my true feelings are that it was an eff-ing tiring and stressful era, so I don't want to see or talk to you guys anymore :P People are welcome to draw their own conclusion ultimately :) <3 to my old friends and enemies :)

what Zond said....btw we only had a cf with feds when they were near dead(in fact tehy told us that themselves) just so they didn't have to worry about us. It was due to the fact they were already defeated, knew it, and were hanging by a thread. Respect to their players though.

I don't really care about the numbers against us, it makes it more fun. i just find NAPs boring and robbing you of potential spoils-and friends are fun to fight against too. Endless and I have been almost always enemies in two different games. It is entertaining.

I came late to this era but I had a lot of fun and it was certainly different with the merge thing and walls. Going through PKS and DAF and then playing cat and mouse with endless,binh,random and peng and others, was certainly fun and I was honoured by the attention our little merge had by some.

Thanks Beo crew, Kobu you were an awesome mage and I learnt a lot from you this era. My maging was pretty disappointing for me. I especially enjoyed in making new friends and seeing how they went like JLT and Legend, who taught me the secret farmer skills I can use later :)) Thanks to zond,jlt,heroix,hermes,legend and Aisha <3 who contributed to the merge and let me lead it-who had the weakest army in the lot.

To the elf mages of Daf, you made some mistakes and missed some opportunities, but you were also very very annoying. Which is a big compliment. To Wulfkin and Galadriel, also respect. If Daf had merged up instead of just sending big solo armies at our weakest flank, they would have had our core weeks ago.

I would like to apologise for any and all indiscretions against FLL over the course of the era. Like many other players I'm very opinionated and slightly biased when it comes to certain aspects of the game. I could have handled myself and my actions more professionally when it came to communications with one of our nap partners throughout the era.

So with all due respect to Yoda and any others I offended from FLL I am sorry.

I would also like to congratulate beothuck on the way their members held off so many on Zeta for the majority of the era. I am under the firm belief that if we hadn't united against them they very well could have been victorious over the rest of Zeta.
