Mr. Cahal Quinn

Lived in Era 27 and got 0 heir(s) .

Cahal Quinn was born and raised in the vast redwood forests of near Bardock--an elf kingdom known as the Brotherhood of the Wolf. With the continuous intrusion of elves into the Southwestern Redwood forests, the troll population decided to send emissaries to Bardock in order to attempt the let the elves understand the problematic disruptions they were causing. Among these emissaries was their leader, Conlaoch Quinn--the father of young Cahal Quinn. Unfortunately, the first troll emissaries were quickly attacked and a battle ensued, leaving Conlaoch Quinn dead along with three others. Much of Bardock lay in ruin after an attack force--dispatched just behind the emissaries in case of such situations--attempted to siege the city. However, a rather shaky truce was formed and the trolls withdrew, yet leaving behind much xenophobia between the elves of the Brotherhood of the Wolf and the trolls of the Southwestern Redwood.

The aftermath caused much internal turmoil for the young Cahal Quinn. With his father's death and later the murder of his mother, Aislinn Quinn--a highly influential and wise member of the Troll Progression Council--by a group of elf spies, Cahal entered himself in the Warrior Elites of the Southwestern Redwood. Although rebellious and temperamental, the High Warlords noticed his potential and sought to exploit his prejudice against the elves. By altering the training missions to be more personal for Cahal and others who encountered similar tragedies, the High Warlords bred a graduating group of eight highly determined and adaptable Warrior Elites. Intent on protecting the tribes of the Southwestern Redwood, the Warrior Elites were sent out to mock battles in various areas of the forests and even into the Bronze Mountains to the south.

Four months after graduating, Cahal was elected as the High Chieftain of the Gael Tribe of the Southwestern Redwood--one of twenty-two such governors that ruled under Grand Chieftain Goncalo Ellinger. However, after only a few weeks in the position, several scouts reported the intrusion of another species of odd, light-skinned and slender beings with a tuft of hair upon their scalps. The order to detain these intruders was given expeditiously and Cahal rode on a flying beast to represent the Tribes.

The skinny creatures shivered with fear as the trolls bellowed foreign commands upon the arrival of Cahal. But one of the creatures was still and spoke. "My name is Maru the Second and my father is the King of Babylon. We bring good will. We are mere explorers and I beg you--"

Cahal silenced the creature, unsure what to make of the gibberish. But the creature was determined and, Cahal thought, brave. It began to lower its head and join its hands together in front of its face. After doing so, it held out a map with a path drawn from the location of Babylon, near a city known as "Norselands"--of which Cahal had heard rumors of this holy elf town, and through the Bronze Mountains and into Goncalo's forests... the trolls' forests. Below the map was a picture of the light-skinned creature holding out and grabbing the tiny palm of an elf--with its devilish pointed ears--and another similar creature holding out its hand and grabbing the chubby fingers of another being... the dwarf of what the picture described the light-skinned creatures as "Human."

After a few days of attempting to understand the creatures, Cahal found that they seemed trustworthy and had a good way with communicating. In a historic moment, Cahal extended his hand to the human at an awkward angle, yet the creature obviously understood the attempt and did likewise.

It only took another week and half for Cahal to establish a reserved friendship with Maru the Second. By then, another group of humans had arrived, armed, looking for the missing explorers. Moments before starting another interspecies war, both Cahal and Maru the Second were able to step in together and reassure both the Trolls and the Humans. With xenophobia still strong in the hearts of Cahal's warriors, the High Chieftain of the Gael Tribe understood that even these humans, who seemed mostly benign, should not be allowed to penetrate deeper into the redwoods until time had passed.

As a result, Cahal decided to move the members of his tribe who agreed--around eight percent--to establish the first city directly outside the Southwestern Redwood Forests around the rugged bend of the highest of the Bronze Mountains--Conlaoch Peak, named after Cahal's father and just west of the slightly smaller mountain, Kamau Peak--named after the revolutionist Kamau Kavanagh who helped lead the overthrow of the Marc Kaiser dictatorship in Era 9.

This village was to be located a few hundred feet below the treeline of the redwoods on Conlaoch Peak in a location considered strategic given the difficulty of passing through the Bronze Mountains and the ease of which to traverse plains. Instead, scouts would patrol the mountains and Cahal's village--Redwood Haven--would be both a sort of fort-sized watchtower and a type of embassy to represent the Tribes of the Southwestern Redwood and the greet other species as well. The Grand Chieftain himself is to be there at Redwood Haven's formal establishment in the Autumn Season of Era 28.
