Sir Annatar
Lived in Era 10 and got 0 heir(s) .
Annatar is known for his ability to change his appearence at will, having risen here and there among the ages, appearing perhaps attractive or hideous to his enemies, as he sees the need or his comfort fits. Those who have met or fought him in battle say he has a more evil nature than appears, hidden by his sorcery. Here are the accounts of the aliases and appearances upon which he is theorized to have lived, dating to even a time before sorcery engulfed him, records can only quess if there are others...
~Katsujinken~
Once a great Samurai King named Katsujinken led the Empire Meiyo Shugo. He was famed for his honor, and his unbreakable word. He brandished two curved katanas, and his name accurately reflects his skill and prowess with them, for the meaning of his name is "living sword". In his time he led both Trolls and Humans into battle. He fought many traitors, who under the guise of friendship burned his colonies and ravaged his people. These events led him to create his empire, to preserve the honor left in VU, but he soon found even his own kingdom could not accomplish this near impossible task, for they were targetted for their common goal by the dishonorable. The kingdom then subsequently disbanded, after five eras, and Katsujinken left them each the challege of keeping their honor as best they could on their own, if they could not successfully do it together. He quickly disappeared soon after, and no one has appeared under his name, as it is all but forgotten-- except by this text. It is rumored that Annatar mentioned his name upon many an occasion and with much praise, when others had forgotten it, it can therefore easily be infered that he was once the noble Katsujinken, before the darkness took him. For even then, after the collapse of his kingdom, a shadow began to loom upon Katsujinken's very heart...
~Diedrick~
His assumed beginnings before Meiyo Shugo are nothing but rumors at best, but after the empire's fall, it is estimated that he fled to the highlands under the name Diedrick, and there he fought by the side of the noble King Frederick of the Sayian Empire. In battle he had the strength of twenty highlanders, and he weilded a two handed sword the size of a man, with a katana always ready at his ankle. His dedication to the kingdom was strong, as that of a Samurai, but while the Sayian Empire's honor, skill, and lineage were unquestionable, he felt the need to find his own way elsewhere, and look for something more. The shadow over his heart grew even darker.
~Annatar~
After the life of Diedrick, his spirit returned to the world and had a rather rude awkening into it. He felt a hunger that food could not sustain, that only power could satisfy. Thus his heart blacked and froze over and Annatar was born. He found the power of the orc attractive and conquered all he could in his path. Annatar rarely chose to take form outside of his tower keep, but when he did, he appeared as a wolf the size of an oliphant, and tore through armies together with his orges. He attacked without discrimination or mercy. He sent those he fought who demanded peace, a blood filled eye in parchment, symbolizing his ability to see all, and his enemies blindness to their own defeat. During this time he joined many kingdoms, and found only one truly his place in which he could exercise his power, Shen al Calhar. However, the gods of this world were not pleased with SaC's king and his empire, along with others, mysteriously fell. Annatar had sacrificed his place in a separate kingdom to join SaC, and its destruction discouraged him. The king of his previous kingdom was a goofy old man, who spitfully attacked him after he left for Calhar. Annatar branded him as an enemy and Wolf-Annatar killed him upon the battlefield soon after. The kingdom of Revolution was later formed to unite those made kingdomless by the cruel gods, former SaC members joined it to try and fill the void, so Annatar too attempted this, but nothing filled the void for him, and henceforth he left R. This irritated the kingdom, and soon after they too did battle.
His quest for a kingdom has spawned him a notorious (but to him hideously misguided) reputation as Annatar the Betrayer, the Deciever, the wicked, and even "Annawitch". It must be assumed that the days of Meiyo Shugo in his mind taught him many things: enemies must never be shown any mercy, self-honor can always be kept (for however evil he maybe, no treaty has he ever broken), but survival is just as essential. And aggressive conquering, he must think, is the key to surviving in this world. Those marked as his enemies have been met with nothing less. We can only guess whether his spirit, armed with his newfound sorcery, will continue to live on in eras to come, but we can still hope and pray that it will not...
