Lady Mellonie
Lived in Era 15, got 0 heir(s) and was a member of Abydos
Lady Mellonie awakens in a large wooden room, she lay upon a bed that was three times too large for her. She glanced around, where was she? Who was she? Her memory clouded like Fantasia on a cold winters morining.
She searched her mind, there must be something. It seemed as though there was silence yet a thousand voices screaming in her mind. What had happened to her? Suddenly a voice seemed to pierce through the mist, and at first she sould not make out what it was saying.
The voice said few words, words that seemed foreign to her, and a memory seemed to flow into her mind. One memory and one alone, "Mellonie, my lady. The elves approach, and your sickness grows. Your memory is fading, let my light shine upon your mind and you shall not forget what has happened here. You shall live, my lady, they will not take you, sickness or no sickness. . . You shall live."
Her mind drifted back to the room, she knew where she was. Her memories may not have returned, but she knew. She knew it in her heart and every fiber of her soul. She was on Zetamania, she had survived the fall of her dwarven reign. Taken in by a small village of jungle trolls. The voice was right, she had survived.
Her ears twitched. Her long, pointed ears? She was an elf? No that wasnt possible, she was too short to be an elf. What was she? She got up off the bed, she was wrapped in an oversize animal skin blanket, wearing what appeaed to be a ruined plain black robe. She stretched her legs, they were cut and bruised. She shecked the bottom of her feet and to her surprize there were large blisters and cuts covered by a strange goo. She soon realised she was entirely covered in the goo. What was it?
Her ears twitched again. She could hear something. She galnced around the room anxiously. There were no windows, just one massive door. She couldnt believe how big this place was. It suddenly dawned on her, she was in a troll village, and thats why everything appeared so large. She heard footsteps. Loud footsteps, coming from behind the door. They were getting closer. The handle turned and the door was thrown open with such force she had never seen before. She looked at what had opened the door and a scream escaped her mouth.
There stood a 12 ft creature, and it didnt even reach the roof. The creature seemed disturbed by the scream, but nonetheless he walked up to her and handed her clean fur clothes. She stopped screamning and glanced at the creature. It was a troll. There was no mistaking it, she didnt know of many other creatures that could get that big. She glanced towards the clothes. They were amazing, they would be perfect size for her, and the care that had gone into these was outstanding. She took the clothes from the trolls hand slowly, and catiously.
The troll smiled, 'I dont bite'. Mellonie jumped. She was not expecting such a beast to be able to speak, she took the clothes and muttered a thank you. She placed them on the bed and then turned to the troll, it began to speak. 'You are probably wondering how you came to be here, of all places, correct?' Mellonie was speachless, this troll spoke with accuracy, as though it was... educated?
The troll walks over to the bed and sits down. 'Lady Mellonie i believe i owe you an explanation. You see... Thias village you are in is the remnants of your anscestors kingomd. We are the descendants of the trolls that were lead by Viceroy June, and for generations after we were lead by your ancestors, until there came a time when we were defeated, and your mother turned to the protection of the dwarves. This is the reason you are hunted by elves. Youre ancestors educated us, taught us how to think for oursleves and how to teach our childeren. This village is all taht reamains of that legacy.'
Mellonie stood there in shock. June? It had been many generations since then. How long ahd her family hid behind the dwarves? Mellonie had no memory, nothing to refer to. She looked over to the troll, ' this still doesnt explain HOW i got here' she was still amazed at the kindness and calmness expressed by this troll.
The troll speaks once more, seeming a little impatient. 'We are not quite sure of that oursleves. You just turned up. I saved you from a rather unfortunate fate, seeing in your eyes the soul of June. You have her kindness, her beliefs. Now that you are here, my people expect you to lead the trolls to a ravolution. They expect you to coordinate our efforts, to educate neighbouring villages, and perhaps one day accomplish a troll kingdom. ' He pause with a sad look upon his face. 'And you best do what they believe of you, or your fate will be the same as any who walks into a troll village.' with that he gets up and leaves her there in the dark, to contemplate the situation.
