I would buy a Country (lol)

what i would do with 12 billion. i would first buy an iphone and a big house and a nice car for when i can drive. id give ATLEAST 1 or 2 billion to the poor and to churches and donate it and such. but that number would probobly be closer to 10 or 11 billion cause 1 or 2 billion is enough to live off of ;).

mabye buy something else nice like a baseball team macdonalds burger king or dairy queen or something. i gotta make a profit ;)

and then give most of teh profits and donate it

I'd buy VU for a million, Kassius for another million, The white house for a billion. Bribe the president to make Me president for a day.

Put it in a savings account and keep on living normally, getting ready for college and all.  Then when I've done some research I'll donate it to various causes like feeding the starving, alternative energy, etc.

I'd buy a kickass laptop first though :)

you could pay the 'underdevelopped' countries their national debt ... it would help them get their countries running ... the'd be able to grow their own economy and eventually they could stand alone and care for themselves ...

provided, that they educate their people, and try not to fight amongst eachother ... a lot of the money would be needed, just to change mentality ...

but, maybe, maybe, it could work ... show them respect, let them take control over their own situation (maybe external help is needed, but it should not be inforced), and eventually ...

and in those 12 billion, the americans spend ... bribes are included (like a lot of east-european countries get US dollars to ....)

on the other hand ...  it would only be fair if we gave them a reasonable compensation and even, maybe, give back what we have stolen over the last few hundred years ... our ancesters are to blame, but it doesn't take away our responsability.

I wish we could reach the same harmony without throwing away all the advance we have accumulated. It will be a long way to make all technology ecologically sustainable.

Mbeidas, the world population (2007) is approximately 6.6 billion. If you give everybody $45 million, you will need 6.6 billion times $45 million that is 2.97 x 10^17 or 297 quadrillion dollars.

Then again, you said "each man". If that means adult males, then about half of the world's population are males, and roughly one third of them are underaged. That leaves approximately 2.2 billion men. You would still need $99 quadrillion.

And how big number is that?

Well, they say all the current wars have cost USA $610 billion since 9/11, 2001 (i.e. approx. 6 years of wars). Now $297 quadrillion is 486885.25 times more money. So, with that kind of money USA could pay similar wars for the next three million years. And if by "each man" you meant adult males, then USA could pay all wars for the next million years with the $99 quadrillion.

I doubt any 950 arabs had that kind of money... Maybe you should check your figures?

Well, in that case 1 billion divided evenly between 950 men makes about 1.05 million each. You should still check the figures... :)

By the way, I liked your metaphor about the snake, bird, and mice. I would call it the balance of nature (not necessarily good and evil). A similar event happened for example in the Yellowstone National Park when man removed wolves from the ecosystem. That had a huge indirect influence on many animal and plant populations there. In 1995 there was a very successful reintroduction program that managed to restore the wolf population after 70 years of absence. Read this link for example.

I don't think its right to just give the poor money it should be invested on giving all the poor people in the world a proper education. Then they could provide for themselfs for life.

I like the idea of living naturally with nature but there would be too much death and disease, put it towards green technology. We have it but we just need to refine it.

1. Put most of the money into a bank
2. Buy a nice house for each member of my family(parents and three older brothers)
3. Buy my oldest brother a wife ;)
4. Buy a very nice laptop computer
5. Bribe Zeta into adding more titles to the RP point list ;)
6. Write a book in my boredom
7. Pay for the college tuition for myself and my brothers.
8. Work as a psychologist when I get bored of sitting around the house all day.
9. Add a training center onto my house so I can keep in shape.
10. Work on being a wine connoisseur
11. Donate some of the money to the church(I won't name which)

If I had 12 billion a month you folks would never have to hear about war in the middle east again...it would be a roller rink, all glass. To top it off anyone who protested after that would find another black market bought russion nuclear *beep*nal landing on their country too. I would then take all your women and give them my seed and within 20 years or so my demon spawns would start taking over what is left of the unmelted civilized world. We would then colonize several spots and let only the best looking women stay. all men in service in said colonies would have free tang. all those outsaide the walls would be chuckin rocks at each other and running from the wildlife they once dominated.

If you want a more realistic approach to ending criminal activity you just start shooting family members of suspects and civilians close by or dismember them in public while alive until someone starts giving up names...Even if its the wrong names you will sooner or later hit someone who gives the right names or you will run out of people...Either way it's win/win. No more hiding criminals! Taa Daa!

And it didnt even cost 12 billion a month!

I not forgetting, I said colonies would be set up. At this stage in life we can live in a basic aquarium and provide ourselves with all the tools needed to survive in a bubble :) And if it didn't work I still die with bewbs in mai face...
