Global Warming II
05:10:09 Mar 5th 07 - Mr. Randy Rockhard:

Hoax.

Discuss.

05:15:50 Mar 5th 07 - Mr. Super Sloth:

Flamebait. Discuss!

05:37:54 Mar 5th 07 - Mr. Jibbymaster:

everyone is gunna be dead in 50 years anyway

07:37:21 Mar 5th 07 - Mr. Native Peoples:

Not me, I'm gonna live untill I am 100.

08:16:11 Mar 5th 07 - Sir Drunken:

Dooms day coming btw fyi move to a higher ground or the hills now or face the wrath of rising sea level soon!

13:24:42 Mar 5th 07 - Lord Argyle:

yeah thoose who care are thoose who live where the sealevel will own them, like in the netherlands :O all people move to sweden, our country is rising from sealevel :D

19:15:42 Mar 5th 07 - Duke Sobek:

do you really want all those dutchies in Sweden ?

19:28:28 Mar 5th 07 - Mr. Wilberforce:

I believe in the almighty word of futurama, nuclear winter WILL cancel out global warming, hooray, problem solved. Ignore the millions dead.

21:14:56 Mar 5th 07 - Duke Amheh:

I'm terribly sorry, people of earth...due to me being hot as hell!!! the earth is heating up...discuss lmfao! :P

21:37:14 Mar 5th 07 - Duke Sobek:

yeah ... due to amheh's body gas's and his highly concentrated percent of sweat production the earth is warming up :-(

there is only one solution ^^

22:00:22 Mar 5th 07 - Duke Amheh:

yes...spray even more Axe deoderant on me?! so that even more of your females flock towards my whereabouts?! that was the solution you've been thinking about...ehm...right?! :P

22:01:30 Mar 5th 07 - Duke Sobek:

Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiggghtt ^^ ;-P

00:52:55 Mar 6th 07 - Mr. Lelouch:

We need to drop a giant icecube into the middle of the ocean every oce in a while! But everytime we shall need to drop a larger icecube, and problem solved! :D Now let's all beat up sunrays.

And Randy, did you just watch an Inconvient Truth or something?

(Edited by Mr. Lelouch 3/6/2007 12:53:33 AM)

02:47:13 Mar 6th 07 - Mr. Super Sloth:

its cold where I live, i could use a little global warming!

03:59:54 Mar 6th 07 - Sir Brain:

Duke Amheh

3/5/2007 4:00:22 PM
yes...spray even more Axe deoderant on me?! so that even more of your females flock towards my whereabouts?! that was the solution you've been thinking about...ehm...right?! :P

NO! Using aerosols will destroy our beloved ozone even further, besides even without that, the resulting output of body heat from all those ladies (and possibly yourself) would only INCREASE global warming.

04:08:25 Mar 6th 07 - Mr. Vertencio:

Indeed. The issue of Global Warming is at hand...

Did I just say those words?

According to that *beep* George Bush, Global Warming does not exist. In his State of the Union Address he mentions the improvements in "Global w..w...w...weather conditions."

He knows Global Warming is real. He just can't go back on his words.

coward...

04:19:37 Mar 6th 07 - Mr. Julius Ceaser:

did u all no that if global warning is to continue the way it is antartica will melt and all water(lakes, rivers and oceans) will rise 50'(feet)

(Edited by Mr. Julius Ceaser 3/6/2007 4:19:51 AM)

07:03:58 Mar 6th 07 - Mr. Randy Rockhard:

Did you know Julius Ceaser that that is the natural progression of climate on Earth and that we are currently coming out of an ice age - thus ice is melting. Not that it has much at all to do with humans.

21:23:31 Mar 7th 07 - Mr. Wilberforce:

Julius thats the most obvious answer, a 5 year old could of said that. Lakes though? If lakes are not on a river, they wont be effected except from rain. So the melting icebergs in the polar caps.

Rocky, humans are accelerating this process, what are your thoughts on carbon emisions then?

22:06:53 Mar 7th 07 - Mr. Lelouch:

But the ice in the polar ice caps which has survived several ice ages are also melting.

23:32:12 Mar 7th 07 - Mr. Wilberforce:

Exactly Lelouch. Coincidence? I think not.

Where i said So the melting icebergs in the polar caps.  I meant

So the melting of the polar ice caps would have no effect on that.

01:40:06 Mar 8th 07 - Mr. Randy Rockhard:

Wilber, no climatologists agree on just how much humans/carbon emissions post industrial revolution are affecting climate change.
It's nieve to say humans are accelerating the process without evidence. All books I've read on the subject (by climatologists) point to the fact that CO2 makes up a tiny part of Earth's atmosphere, and thus is negligible in the so called 'greenhouse effect'. I suggest you google global warming, or carbon emissions, to get a real answer though.

Mr. Super Sloth

same here if the earths temperature went up a few degrees i wont complain

yes it will afect this because of the water table =P

07:32:19 Mar 8th 07 - Mr. Dakarius:

hmmm... while I do believe that humans brought about global warming, the earth is just reverting to the state it was at around 65million years ago. Unfortunatly alot of people like living on the coast.

09:29:00 Mar 8th 07 - Lord Argyle:

An Inconvenient Truth

This movie is really good, after I saw it, I decided that I will do everything I can to avoid hundreds of millions people die in future due to raised sealevel all over the world...I mean global warming is worse then terrorists!!!!!!

(Edited by Lord Argyle 3/8/2007 9:29:21 AM)

22:25:37 Mar 8th 07 - Mr. Lelouch:

That's not exactly right Randy, scientists do agree that carbon emissions affect climate change. It's just how much, the way you say it sounds like they can't agree if it affects climate change.

22:37:22 Mar 8th 07 - Mr. Wilberforce:

I agree argyle, terrorists can kill what 200 people max in a MASSIVE, well planned and will definatly be on the news and be named after its date and what-not. But GW will have many side effects that could kill millions of people.

Now i'm definatly by far no scientist, or neither do i claim to know alot about GW, which some of you guys may do, but i know the effects and results of GW.

23:40:52 Mar 8th 07 - Mr. Brannigans Law II:

im well chuffed out GW, cos i live in central england. i wont be affected by sea levels, and my house value will soar!!

also england will actually cool down due to that drift thingy in the ocean, that i cant remember its name!

02:05:33 Mar 9th 07 - Mr. Lelouch:

It won't just cool down, there's a chance Europe will enter a new ice age. :)

05:01:04 Mar 9th 07 - Mr. Tophat Bob:

I live in the Bay area, in california, andI know that the whole area will be under water.

07:45:59 Mar 9th 07 - Mr. Randy Rockhard:

Lelouch, I repeat, scientists do not agree on how much or to what extent climate change is caused by carbon emissions, nor by how much humans affect these emissions.
I'm more worried about people being exploited by and getting carried away with global warming hysteri(much like GWB's war on terror) than by actual global warming, which is unlikely to affect us in our lifetime or our childrens lifetime (I'm not saying this is a reason not to worry about it). Look at this thread for example, and the issue of raising sea levels. There recently was a tv show on prime time here in Australia about the threat of carbon emissions. It showed graphics what would happen to all our major cities if sea levels went up by 6 metres. This would happen if the polar icecaps melted - when is that ever going to happen? In 10,000 years!? It's just crazy, unproven and based on junk science.

17:37:33 Mar 9th 07 - Sir Brain:

Well, this is a good time to buy property that's a little way's back from the ocean and maybe eventually your decendents will be making some bank off the beach-front property.

00:23:31 Mar 10th 07 - Mr. Bronkers:

Our machines that predict weather right now are not advanced enough to look accuratly into the future past a week or two yet global warming enthusiasts use them to look 50 years from now. Why is chewbacca an 8 foot wookie from kashek on endor with a bunch of 3 feet ewoks IT DOESNT MAKE SENSE.

01:50:18 Mar 10th 07 - Mr. Brashen:

Hey please dont stop GW just yet I hate the cold but love my country so if we just let it get a couple of Celsius warmer I be happy and then we can stop it there.

Because I knew the world is here to saticfy my need and everyone is here to make me happy.

So now follow my instructions and I will give you a star in the corner.

02:24:38 Mar 10th 07 - Mr. Lelouch:

I just watched an Inconvient Truth, please watch it and then argue Randy, there are some stuff on there I would like to talk about, like the carbon content and temperature relationship graph.

11:07:03 Mar 10th 07 - Mr. Plastic Surgeon:

*beep*s,

let me explain to you the common sense that is called Global Warming.

When life started on earth, the only hot gases produced are carbon dioxide (breathing) and methane (farting).  There are a lot of trees and other plants then which absorbs most of the CO2 produced.  And the population is small, so the amount of heat generated is not sufficient to affect the global status.

Global Warming is the effect of a multiple factors that produce hot gases.

Deforestation, Automobiles, etcetera, etcetera.

I guess that most of you saying global warming is not true live in cold countries.   Common sense dictates that if you live in a cold country, it takes higher amount of heat to make you warm or hot or even boil (lol).

In countries that are living in or near the equator, the effect of global warming is mostly felt.

I live in the Philippines. A peninsula near the equator.  10 years ago, december to february was cold.  summer sun is bearable.  I used to play basketball under the sun.  Now, December is hot.  Mid January-Early February was the only cold time of the year and it wasnt that cold.  I couldnt last 5 minutes in the sun without complaining its hot.

A few more years and some countries will succumb to the rising sea level due to melting of ice caps.

In a few years, 50 i think, the island nation of Kiribati, located in the pacific ocean will sink below sea level.

So you will say, "Kiribati-what?" "I do not know Kiribati and i do not care."  YOU ARE WRONG! (imagine me pointing my finger at you).  These less-known countries have people living in it.  Im sure the other countries will not let them die and drown by denying shelter for them.  They will migrate, the UN will designate places where they will move.  Your government might offer your country as a new home to these people.

The more the sea level rise, the more countries going below sea level, the more problem for everyone.

Do your Job, boys and girls and together let's fight this global warming.

This has been your Plastic Surgeon for the United Nations Global Warming Brigade

do you really want all those dutchies in Sweden ?

Hahaha! I live in the Netherlands.. And I live in a town that's about 200km away from the sea and stuff.. If the banks would breach. It'd be something like 2km :)
So I'm safe! Mwuhaha

14:47:13 Mar 10th 07 - Mr. Lelouch:

That depends on your Elevation Balloon, no matter how far away you are if your elevation is below sea level you will sink.

14:55:14 Mar 10th 07 - Mr. Nicolas II:

ha ha global warmming...

something is scruy i live in uper ny and we didnt get snow till after chrismas

now we still have a foot or 2 of snow with a thin layer of ice on top... scruwy

15:10:30 Mar 10th 07 - Mr. Lelouch:

It seems everyone had a late winter...

16:57:29 Mar 10th 07 - Lord Anubis:

well in the past the planet has always heated up and cooled down naturally, i don't know why people make a big deal about all this stuff tbh isn't more interesting that something is actually happening in the world other than the repetition of western life? it will no doubt take many years to happen but the climate will probably fall into another ice age, if you think that how far we actually are from the sun is quite probable that we're experiencing alot more heat than we should be and the north atlantic is just fortunate enough to have warmed water from the brazilian coast sent to us.

17:01:09 Mar 10th 07 - Mr. Dreadlord:

its a special tactic they act like ppl are doing somthing and stuff and that its futile thats a lie if everyone would get off theyr lazy ass thngs would change.

20:34:08 Mar 11th 07 - Mr. Lorian:

the problem is all the politics and money. the politics problem is that there may actually be absolutly no global warming. wouldn't it be convieniant if the billions of dollars that be donate to the power problem could be sent to the war in iraq. mabey the only problem is the fact that our govermant is run by f-ing retards like bush that dont give a damn about globla warming. either way...were screwed

22:37:58 Mar 11th 07 - Lord Argyle:

Anubis, you are way of. It's true the world naturally heats up and cools down, but it has never been on this level (as I said before, go see An inconvinent truth and you will get the picture). The big deal is if we keep on going like we are now, the things said about global warming will happen, it's not a theory, it's a fact. And it's the thing of getting people to understand that it's not just humbug from scientists, it's for real...

00:52:05 Mar 12th 07 - Mr. Super Sloth:

i could use a little global warming around where i live..damn its cold here!

07:22:00 Mar 12th 07 - Sir Shahal:

I don't disagree that a global climate change is happening but I don't think human beings, short of having an all out global nuclear war, could affect the earth's climate that drastically.

I believe that, like the hemispheres of earth have different seasons due to its position around the sun, the solar system itself has seasons depending on its position around the galaxy.  You know, 100 million years ago it was extremely hot on this planet then eventually it got extremely cold.  Now guess what, its getting hotter again.  This isn't something we can fix.  Its something that's going to happen whether we like it or not.  We're just going to have to prepare for it.

The issue of global warming now isn't even a scientific issue.  Its turned into a huge popularity contest between Al Gore and his friends in the Screen Actors Guild who want everyone to shell out 35k on a hybrid car and the ignorant conservatives that believe nothing is happening at all.  Everyone is more worried about who is right than about the actual issue itself.  Its sickening if I do say so myself.

(Edited by Sir Shahal 3/12/2007 7:23:11 AM)

22:04:38 Mar 12th 07 - Lord Anubis:

actually argyle the planet has been hotter than this before....in the times of the dinosaurs the land was at a tropical level from the north to the south....once it cooled down grass had finally been given the chance to grow as it thrives in slightly cooler conditions, whats happening is we are going through a natural heat up, but its not just co2 levels affecting this, it much bigger than that and the cases are showing that its the amount of ice melting revealing dark oceans thats the reason for this rapid heat increase, if it was just co2 then it would take far longer

10:07:05 Mar 13th 07 - Mr. Plastic Surgeon:

i think its caused by all of the people turning their stoves on at the same time.

12:48:53 Mar 13th 07 - Duke Balloon:

Mr. Lelouch

That depends on your Elevation Balloon, no matter how far away you are if your elevation is below sea level you will sink.

I never heard of a Balloon sinking ;)
