Trapped in cities
10:14:03 Jan 25th 09 - Sir Wilberforce Pwner:

Moving your army...
Your army is trapped inside a city!

Its also got a button to prepare an attack, so I guess that tactic of trapping is pretty useless now then.

Unless I'm making a mistake... but last era I'm 99.999% sure it wasn't like that. Hence the bug post by that nub I plundered.

Dont get what your saying... You've always been able to trap armies in cities if you close the gates after theyve set a course there. And you could always attack the city to get out. And it isnt useless.

If thats not the answer then rephrase the question =/...

10:26:41 Jan 25th 09 - Sir Wilberforce Pwner:

Right... I mean when I've seen it, it isn't possible to attack the city (if you've set course) thus it keeps saying you can't do anything, as your trapped in the city.

The only usual way out is by another army attacking the city or you merging out of it... or the gates opening.

If I'm wrong, okay now I know then :)

You can attack the city with the trapped army... Always been that way otherwise it would be to abuseable...

12:21:54 Jan 28th 09 - Duke Random:

yeah you can attack the city, but you might want to trap the army if you have a high %... like 99% or summin but want to get more armies in to get a slaughter :)

12:50:08 Jan 28th 09 - Mr. Mistoffelees:

Please stop posting people. That button to start preparing on a city if you're trapped inside wasn't always there, actually it's quite new. So yes you could trap an army in the walls and it couldn't get out except by merging out or getting teleported.

That said... the button isn't new either it's been there for eras. The tactic as Wilber explains it isn't really a tactic as much as it's an exploit of the game code, you shouldn't be able to trap an army without attacking it.

Thank you cobra, your answer is the only one that I think fully answered my question.
