Urists father, Jaston, was forced out of society because of questionable dabbling in necromancy thus leaving Martha to look after the child alone in an otherwise small peaceful village. Urist had a normal upbringing, albeit sheltered. He is unaware of the harshness of war and nature.

In adulthood Urists only wish is to help expand his village along with the value of peace, and of course to for fill his natural dwarven lust for gold.
