Sir Saladin

Lived in Era 45, got 1 heir(s) (Antiochus) and was a member of Guild of the Fallen

Born of noble breed, I hail from the Capital of Alesia. From birth, I was raised to realize that I was more of a politician and tactician than a bloodthirsty warrior. I belonged to the Council since I was raised, not to be one who would carry the sword to battle. I also discovered that I was sharp-tongued and quick-witted; qualities that I learned to use well. With my coming of age, I was initiated to the Council, I had accomplished my original dream, but I did not anticipate what would happen after my initiation.

The Council is a group of members drawn from many tribes, including members of ZulZejdis, ZulAkram, ZulAnam, and ZulQuuri. The Council was formed to organize and maneuver the diplomatic and militaristic assets of the tribes that have come together to make the Confederation of Trolls.

The Confederation of Trolls was founded under Fritigern, the elder chieftain of ZulZejdis as a way to counter threats of troll extermination by the many kingdoms outside of the homelands of the ZulZejdis. Upon hearing the warnings from outlying nomadic warlords about Orcish military campaigns, Fritigern gathered the chieftains and diplomats from the ZulAkram and ZulAnam and after many weeks of quarrels, arguments, and agreements; the final doctrine was signed by Fritigern himself. ZulZejdis, ZulAkram, and ZulAnam would intertwine economies together and would share military intelligence with their warlords and captains. Sadly, Fritigern in all his glory and accomplishment, died of natural causes in Alesia one week after the doctrine was signed, but he died leaving a ring in the ears of the trolls who were binded to the agreement.

The first challenge was presented to the newly borne Confederation; to decide the new leader of the Confederation. ZulZejdis, ZulAkram, and ZulAnam all had their candidates to be enthroned, yet all of them found each candidate with flaws and conflict ensued between the chieftains. Saladin, freshly elected to the Council, felt such a time was a time to be taken advantage of. Saladin rallied ZulZejdis chieftains to give him support as he made a stand for leadership as a fresh face, one with no flaws, no bad decisions to haunt him. With long nights in foreign settlements persuading chieftains of the Council to install him as leader, he was successful.

Saladin was installed as the surpreme Leader of the Confederation on the eleventh month of the year of the crop harvests. Villages and settlements clamored to open their gates for the new leader and invite him to feasts, but Saladin chose not to. The ZulQuuri, a nomadic troll people, had arrived in the homelands of the ZulAkram and asked for asylum. Saladin was sent at once to meet their chieftains in which he learned of the fairskinned Humans, short in stature and wise in talk. He learned of the slender, tall eared Elves with their ability to shine light so bright as to blind the wariest warrior. Even the dreaded orcs were hunting for the ZulQuuri, they spoke of a federation... an alliance between them in which they called themselves Gladiators. Saladin accepted their cries for help and let them settle further in the Confederation's territories.

Saladin then mobilized scouting parties to scour from the forests and to spy from the heights, with these expeditionary forces driving the dust behind them to find more information about these 'Gladiators'. Saladin then took to drawing together forces from the forests and plains, from the many tribes of trolls. Saladin himself even traveled to the hidden groves of nature's energies, the homes of grizzled berzerkergangs and elderly mages tapping into the storms in the skies and the fogs of the forests. Rallying warriors was easy when they had a sure target, he set up outposts near the forests that homed the groves so as to house the newly recruited berzerkers and mages.

ZulAnam shown its brightest ability when the merchant trolls worked to provide weapons and armors, their blacksmiths and tanners were oft praised by the chieftains and warlords of the other tribes. With the influx of armor, swords, and other war supplies, Saladin chose to gather a warlord from each of the Four Tribes; he chose Vercingetorix of ZulZejids, his brother, Orgetorix of ZulAkram, Arminius of ZulAnam, and Odoacar of ZulQuuri. With these four warlords, he issued under them an equal yet many number of troops and contingents of berzerkers to shadow the army as not to have the possibility of friendly killing arise.

The records of the military actions, victories, and defeats are long... kept in records in the Villa of the Council and one that may not be open for viewing, yet what is known is this. The alliance of many known as 'Gladiators' was greatly struck back after Saladin agreed to support an alliance of Humans, Elves, and Dwarfs known as 'Guild of the Fallen', the name has no purpose to the trolls, but the support was uplifting. Of all of the four warlords issued banners of the Confederation, only Vercingetorix survived the onslaught between the Gladiators and the Confederation of Trolls. Arminius having fallen the last to an ambush from a hidden settlement known as Famamira. Mournings are still going on for Orgetorix and Odoacer, warlords fallen yet honored and remembered.

Now... The leadership will be reinstalled from the noblest of them all. Saladin proved his worth, but under agreement of the Council, wishes to switch leadership was strong. The strongest candidate is Antiochus of ZulAkram, son of the warrior Caratacus who had seen fighting alongside his warlord Vercingetorix himself.
