Fantasia 29
22:39:37 Oct 31st 14 - Cao Cao (Lord Cao Cao):

Kd policy is to kick people after 10 days. I wasn't going to kick a player, particularly one whom i'd conversed with on skype and on other worlds before, just b/c our opponents suspected they might be multis. Bran told me his concerns, but as they've been inactive since day 3, they didn't respond when I asked them about it.

The spoils are negligible, much lower than the "40+mil" Bromance is suggesting. I'd much rather have a few more active, non-multi players, than the whopping 8mil plunder I got from their main mining city. I'll gladly share the spoils if that'll stop your complaining, not gonna save you anyway =P

We've also kicked Scientist, as he's been inactive for over 10 days as well. Are you going to accuse him of being a multi as well? I'll gladly post the discussion we've had on our forum that talks about how nobody wants the cities or is bothered to plunder them b/c they are largely useless.

Since when has kicking inactive players been more of an issue than marching armies through forests to get around blockers? Monks, care to answer that question?

23:08:18 Oct 31st 14 - Bran (Mr. Bran):

the guy who suggested we report these things and let zeta sort them out... you gotta be kidding right?

spreading your spoils out amongst your players would certainly ease our concerns that one player is being unfairly fed

are you implying shoalin abused a bug by walking through a forest? when did this happen?

23:16:40 Oct 31st 14 - Mr. Yamato:

I don't know who is complaining, but since your bring it up. I have seen them go through a forest. If I have to take a screen shot to demonstrate I will.

23:17:56 Oct 31st 14 - Bran (Mr. Bran):

go ahead, id like to see it pls

23:30:31 Oct 31st 14 - Ms. Bromance:

If you want to accuse someone of multi just let zeta know and he will handle it.

I messaged Zeta about it before Bran even posted about it 11 days ago. Zeta checks vu like once a month if we're lucky, it's unknown whether he did the multi sweep I requested or if the guy running the multies just went inactive.

When a game as an inactive admin, it is up to us players to act honourably and police ourselves.

The walking through trees bit is a joke. Everyone knows there is faux terrain on all maps, and no has ever complained when someone walked around a blocker that was improperly placed at one of these locations. Maybe you should message Zeta to get the map fixed in that place. If you're lucky, he will do it before the year ends.

23:57:11 Oct 31st 14 - Princess Aisha:

When I asked to join some kingdom at beginning of the era, Bran told me I better not join Cease Exist because they are a bunch of multies...

  • 19:35:21 Oct 19th 14 - Bran (Mr. Bran):
would love to take you in but we already one of the bigger kds. i suggest joining a smaller kd? avoid cease to exist tho cos they full of multies

That being said, I don't understand why are you all shocked about it, if you saw it coming. Plus you said you're a larger kingdom and you would like a good fight, so its better to have more strong kingdoms around, so let them feed if they want, you fight it out and defeat them with good gameplay, no need to discuss it on forums, I am pretty sure everyone knew right from beginning this is gonna happen, so not a shock.

Just kill them on the map, and forget about this, every era there is some kind of thing that makes the threads about politics annoying to read, and every kingdom in VU has been through one of those discussions about being unhonorable. That is just nothing new, but this feeding thing should not really affect the outcome of the war up north. Prove your reputation as great players and just win on the map, and let this feeding discussion go away, its really annoying.

04:31:30 Nov 1st 14 - Random (Duke Random):

If we don't say anything people will start to think that it's an acceptable tactic to do this.

07:06:51 Nov 1st 14 - Cao Cao (Lord Cao Cao):

Intentionally planning to feed on multis is not an acceptable tactic, kicking inactives is. Bran, if spreading the "spoils" around the kd will make things better, that is our plan anyway. And as I said, the spoils are negligible. I personally didn't think they  were multis from my previous conversations with them. If giving people time to return to the game is a crime, then I'm guilty as charged.

And moving armies through the forest, while it did happen, is not a big deal. It occurred, but much like the inactives, it won't make a significant difference to the outcome of this battle, as you wound up taking the blocker anyway.

13:22:57 Nov 1st 14 - Duke Random:

Lets not ignore that the same player who's multi's they are had an account in our KD due to the autojoin to spy on us early on...

02:46:50 Nov 2nd 14 - Mr. Blah Blah The Brutal:

"kicking inactives is."

Not really, but everyone has their own standards.

13:38:04 Nov 2nd 14 - Dark Spawn (Lord Dark Spawn):

I must say I do not understand the need of some people to use river jumping.
It is clearly a known bug, and it should not be used. But from era to era we see people keep using it, and then again people complain. I am not the one to complain on forums, I rarely do it, but what MAD is doing this era, is just annoying, and because of that now I can not enjoy the era at all.

The situation is such that my core is relativly safe, I have settled it that way so it becomes safe, to get to my core cities everyone needs to travel at least 20 ticks to attack me, which gives me more than enough time to walk my armies in defense, or do some strategic training. Obviously when I settled I wanted to get the farming bonus so I put one city near the river, but I did not think some people would be unhonorable and use this in their own advantage.

So what I have to do now is sit in a city all era and not go anywhere, even thought my situation allows me to walk around the map and still have enough time to run back and defend my cities if they enemies would be fair and not use bugs. If the bug worked both ways, if I could jump over to the other side and attack the armies coming tehre, then it would be fine. But if I want to defend that area I need to walk 20 ticks around to get to the location and then the enemy can just move away and wait for me to return to the core before returning again to that location. Only solution is for me to wreck the city and then wait for wreckages to go away or ask some Orc to b/d the city. But why? Because people use bugs to their own advantage.

We already have several examples of prepping over the river, Kobu, the guy that keeps complaining about stuff and then goes and uses the bug himself. The screen shot was given to be for the sake of this post:

In that situation Kobu would need to spend time to walk around to the bridge and then move down. But the issue I have is much bigger, because as I mentioned, to get to my cities you need many hours of marching, and its just not fair to walk over the other side and attack. Here Anonymous suicided his troops, possibly to show me that its possible to walk over the river, warning me about the case, and for that I thank him, I have been in communication with the guy earlier in the era and he seems like a cool guy. But I don't know if something is a known bug, is it ok to use?

So instead of my options being:
1. Go south and attack the enemy
2. Attack them from north
In both cases guard towers vision allows me to notice the enemy before hand, so I would be able to divert troops to defend in case of need, but this way I have to keep my army at Lewith Swamp, because you never know if enemy will just walk around the other side of the river.

It simply just kills the game, and this bug really should not be used.

15:23:16 Nov 2nd 14 - Kobuskan (Mr. Zapper):

Prepping a city from across a river is not condirate to be  river jumping, just game dynamics, so I have been told by several vets along the years I am playing this game.

btw Dark Spawn you are perfectly placed to go exp feeding with Jasmine.
Place an adventurer army in your city, without any farmers inside, not even 1, then ask Jasmine to prepp your city and steel food, you army will suffer no losses but will still gain exp, also you city need to have farms else there is no food to steal.
Jasmine can do the same and in that way you both halfers help eachother in getting a good treasure hunting army..

15:26:52 Nov 2nd 14 - Dark Spawn (Lord Dark Spawn):

Why would I do that? That is considered to be cheating, and I see you are advertizing cheating? And here I am complaining about using bugs and you obviously suggest cheating is fine. Wow... I see my post has no point if that is your remark. Nevermind.

16:14:04 Nov 2nd 14 - Ms. Bromance:

http://visual-utopia.com/forum.asp?f=Bugs+and+Errors&t=Known+bugs&page=1

  • It's possible to attack a city located on the other side of a river if it's close enough.

We are currently working on fixing these bugs. You will not be banned for using the listed bugs for your advantage. But I am not encouraging you to do it.

16:47:00 Nov 2nd 14 - Bran (Mr. Bran):

how much time should pass before we assume he isnt going to fix the bug? he does call it a bug and does admit that it needs fixing, so I think the community should condemn its use?

17:00:22 Nov 2nd 14 - Kobuskan (Mr. Zapper):

Then the community should also ban the use of AotD cast on armies to bring back the dead.

This bug is commonly used by vet KD and players to defeat new player and rookie KD.
Result is that many new players leave the game after a few months

17:04:17 Nov 2nd 14 - Ms. Bromance:

AoTD has never been stated to be a bug. In fact, ZeTa tweaked it before since it was too easy to cast (it now takes into account the amount of dead in the army when calculating chance of success, and ignores the living troops in the army), so it's safe to assume he knows how it works, and doesn't consider it to be a bug.

17:30:20 Nov 2nd 14 - Mr. Delighful:

Clearly this is a quite contentious issue. I personally think as long as consistency is applied then there is no issue. If MAD choose to use that tactic then that's fine, as long as they don't whinge about it when others do it to them, and the same goes for every other kingdom and individual player.

It's not technically against the rules, just frowned upon.

The multifeeding tactic however is pure cheating and anyone who participates in such activity or knows about it and doesn't bring it to the attention of the admin cause they're gaining an advantage should be banned.

18:51:41 Nov 2nd 14 - Kobuskan (Mr. Zapper):

So, exp feeding is allowed then

18:57:34 Nov 2nd 14 - Mr. Delighful:

I'm talking about river-prepping in the above post.

I personally wouldn't use either tactic and think anyone that does lacks any sort of sportsmanship but that's just my opinion, I'm not going to get worked up over it.

19:48:10 Nov 2nd 14 - Dark Spawn (Lord Dark Spawn):

I honestly did not know river jumping made it to known bugs, if I did I would not comment of it. So it falls under same category as walking over closed gates if you set path while the walls were gone or opened...

Even thought other known bugs include things like getting the price higher on the market or hiding an army under another army, or news about plague having a bug, all those things do not matter for the game, only two that matter are the walking over the walls - and that one is clearly well accepted by the community as a part of the game, and since it falls under same category, river prepping will need to be accepted as same thing.

08:31:51 Nov 3rd 14 - Mr. Boil Onn Mee Balls:

It's a known bug so don't drop cities there...

15:27:14 Nov 3rd 14 - Mr. Yamato:

Your comparing two different issues. The army pathing while the gates is closed is not totally intentional. You make a decision and someone later closes the gate and your army keeps moving on. However, prepping on someones city from across the river is deliberate and intentional. The person made a clear choice in doing so. They moved thier armies in place and made use of the bug versus unknowningly involved with a bug. That is my take in the matter.

03:28:21 Nov 4th 14 - Sir Aloysius LX:

Feeding on multi's... I can relate to that accusation. Hahaha! For years MAD has fans who labeled us like that always, maybe after this post they will bring it back again. anyway, sometimes, we can easily jumped into conclusion that kicking inactive players would mean a shady tactic planned since day 1.

Prepping on city over a river... if you happen to know this one just this era, I welcome you to club!!! hahaha!

Moving on a forest... I like to see how its done. :D Screenshot please!!!

20:35:26 Nov 20th 14 - Bran (Mr. Bran):

gg MAD wp. i think its safe to say the era is over now. do you guys have someone who can cast arma?

22:35:00 Nov 20th 14 - Rora (Heavenly Crystal The War Goddess):

I can work on casting arma, just need some more MU's.

02:09:50 Nov 21st 14 - Sir Aloysius LX:

this era, I make sure we have a mage who can cast Arma. So, let us be the one to cast it.

22:18:38 Nov 21st 14 - Rora (Heavenly Crystal The War Goddess):

Can you cast it then?

I'm fairly sure that everyone knows MAD have won this era.

Unless of course there's a secret army out there that can kill Anon's immortal AM army that is probably over 400k AM's by now ;)

23:44:52 Nov 21st 14 - Mr. Barny:

I'm interested in knowing what kingdoms are going to be around on Fantasia/Mantrax next era and with whom they will be playing with. VU seems less active than ever but Era 30 on Fantasia could still be fun and competitive.

12:04:33 Nov 22nd 14 - Bran (Mr. Bran):

whats the hold up with arma? we all know whos won

16:18:45 Nov 22nd 14 - Mr. Delighful:

VICTORY!

They surrendered. Mr. Delighful. We have won the battle!

We killed a total of 22320 enemy troops, 0 peasants and injured 25169 enemy troops.

Our troops gained +5 extra experience.

Death Dealer wasn't that powerful. My last action in this game, GG to MAD .

23:23:59 Nov 22nd 14 - Mr. Don Kichotas:

I go rest from vu, hope it will be some news later.

00:34:42 Nov 23rd 14 - Lord Reddragon Gettingold:

congrats to anon and mad for the win. My armies are not moving anymore so feel free to kill them. Its useless that i keep fighting and only delaying a few ticks the era end :).

18:32:31 Nov 23rd 14 - Rora (Heavenly Crystal The War Goddess):

Congrats anon and MAD, and I appologize Aloy but you're taking too long to cast arma for an era that ended 2 days ago. Anon will without doubt take over the world within 240 days.

19:01:10 Nov 23rd 14 - Sir Aloysius LX:

well, what can I say? I like to make sure, that's what I think. Besides, winning a decisive battle is not considered era-end-justification for some people. :P

23:50:16 Nov 23rd 14 - Lord Waterbender:

Just to let you know how the era ended.

*********************
At  20:30 gmt  (02:00 pst) 11/23/14,

I voted on the Fantasia map to end the era.
It was the majority vote (this vote put Armageddon into effect) and THE WORLD OF FANTASIA ENDED IMMEDIATELY.

I mean, it ended the era instantly and everyone in the kingdom of Madd was dead and we were on a new map.

CHEERS!!!
