07:55:59 Aug 4th 10 - Princess Aisha: Since the Question sector is only for ingame questions I though I could ask a question about my computer problem here; Here goes; I have a problem with my Windows7, when I turn on the computer it gives me blank screen, windows do not want to fully load. So when I start it I have to hit F8 and choose "safe mode" start. And then it turns on and its ok. So I though its a problem with my windows, might be a bad copy. But then I do a normal restart and it restarts full windows without a problem and works well after I do that... So it just does not want to load windows when I turn it on after it was turned off. Did anyone have problems with this? What might be the problem? Is there a way to fix this?
19:09:26 Aug 4th 10 - Mr. Vuggy The Annoying Bastard: Did you recently download any programs? This happens with my brother's laptop, which doesn't have windows 7, but is still just as annoying. Windows 7 is over-hyped.. IMO it sucks.
19:22:56 Aug 4th 10 - Sir Butters: How old is the system you installed Windows 7 on? I know Windows 7 tries to do some spiffy power saving stuff, but it requires a recent BIOS (ie. fairly new motherboard). First time we tried it at work it did not work because of this and we had to disable the power savings settings....
19:35:50 Aug 4th 10 - Ms. Jennaside: its fairly new butters,Aisha when did the problem start you can try a system restore back to when it was working right.
19:39:24 Aug 4th 10 - Princess Aisha: The problem is that I bought completelly new processor and everything except the monitor. So its all brand new, but I dont think monitor would be the problem, or it might? The problems started the minute I set it up after buying it. So what exactly in the power savings should I change?
20:00:15 Aug 4th 10 - Ms. Jennaside: aisha go to skype and pm me
20:15:29 Aug 4th 10 - Sir Butters: Mmm, lemme check again, I have them somewhere, we did it like 6 months ago and my memory isn't what it used to be...and tbf it always kinda scked On another question, did the computer come with Windows 7 installed? Or did it have XP?
20:47:34 Aug 4th 10 - Princess Aisha: When I bought it it had new windows 7... Yes I think I did disscuss this when I was in Fear or Fate too :| so after all this time it still is not fixed :(
20:58:44 Aug 4th 10 - Sir Butters: The ones we changed were under Control Panel->Power We basically turned off everything :) Not sure which one did the trick for us...turned off hibernating, put it on Minimal Power Management, etc
02:18:47 Aug 5th 10 - Mr. Vuggy The Annoying Bastard: Windows 7 is junk. XP is where it's at.
03:50:21 Aug 5th 10 - Mr. Ignotus: Idk I like Windows 7. I had a problem with my memory when I had windows XP. It said something was wrong with my RAM amount. I was going to send my PC to the HP ppl but then my computer teacher told me to get Windows 7. I did and no stupid issues with memory are coming up. It was basically a software problem. I also had that computer for about a year or so.
04:35:29 Aug 5th 10 - Mr. Vuggy The Annoying Bastard: That's because it's HP. ;) Acer all the way. Woot woot.
23:22:15 Aug 5th 10 - Mr. Ignotus: I played some games on my friends Acer laptop but idk I dont really like acer. The one I was using was just glitchy and his laptop was like just a lil over a year old. HP is pretty with games like WoW or this game but I would choose an Acer over a Mac anyday. Macs are the worst for gameplay in my opinion.
23:33:10 Aug 5th 10 - Clown Wankin Between Ticks: maybe your pc doesnt like the electricity your giving him :/
02:16:31 Aug 6th 10 - Mr. Vuggy The Annoying Bastard: My computer is well over 5 years old, with newer RAM in it and a graphics card I need to replace, but once I replace that graphics card, it should play all of the games there are out there nowadays. 3.33 Ghz. :) As I said, Acer ftw. :P Give a + if you want an alienware computer like I do. :D
16:36:01 Aug 7th 10 - Lord Chade: Hey Aisha, By the sound of it i can think of software problem of your graphics (drivers most probably). A blank screen may occur if there is a problem with the video card drivers and Windows 7. To resolve this problem please follow these steps: 1. Restart the computer. NOTE: If Safe Mode does not work please retry the first two steps and select the Enable low-resolution video (640x480) option instead. If this option is selected your desktop will be bigger than usual – this is by design. At this point you should be able to get into your computer without a problem; however, your video card is disabled so you will need to download and install the latest drivers for it. If you had noted the make and model of card when you were in the device manager you can search for this on the internet, from a disk that came with the graphic card and/or contact the hardware manufacturer for help. Once the drivers are installed correctly on the system you should be able to boot normally without any resolution problems. If this do not help - let me know
02:15:59 Aug 8th 10 - Mr. Scipio: Aisha, good advice immediately above although my approach would be ever
so slightly different if I were to jump straight on that.
