15:44:39 Aug 27th 06 - Mr. Pink Floyd: hahaha
17:38:58 Aug 27th 06 - Mr. Larry Flynt: When my dog ate half a joint, he just laid on the couch and made funny noises for about 4-5 hrs, and was fine after that.
17:44:44 Aug 27th 06 - Mr. Huo Yuanjia: he was lying down for quite a while lol and when i gopt him playing he was quite mad lol
18:15:35 Aug 27th 06 - Mr. Twamao: i know someone who did a shotgun to a dog using marijuana. the dog acted funny. the poor dog walks along the walls.
23:28:29 Aug 27th 06 - Duke Highwayman: I would rather see druggies getting stoned!
23:36:01 Aug 27th 06 - Mr. Larry Flynt: Ahhh yea, because smoking pot is so evil.
00:07:54 Aug 28th 06 - Mr. Edgardo Mendoza Maldonado: They only die if they Eat lots of Marijuana.It's the same with people.
00:40:12 Aug 28th 06 - Mr. Edgardo Mendoza Maldonado:

01:00:39 Aug 28th 06 - Mr. Huo Yuanjia:

09:07:01 Aug 28th 06 - Duke Highwayman:
I so hope you are joking. No I don't. Druggies are the scourge of society. Any society.
13:01:18 Aug 28th 06 - Mr. Larry Flynt: For the uninformed, and uneducated.
13:51:57 Aug 28th 06 - Duke Highwayman: Thanks, but I prefer to take my medical advice from people who actually do some proper research, not just regurgitate populist propaganda. Try here for the BMA's take on the issue. And note that my comments were not against drugs per se but against druggies. A tenner bag never stole a car stereo or mugged an old lady for it's next fix, but the druggie who NEEDS it probably did.
14:03:56 Aug 28th 06 - Mr. Larry Flynt: Druggies are crackheads, and heroin addicts. They are scum to let a chemical overrun there life, and commit crimes to support their habit. That I agree with, but when people who have no clue as to what there arguing when it comes to pot.
14:12:18 Aug 28th 06 - Mr. Larry Flynt: Also, nobody needs pot. People need alcohol more than need weed.
14:29:46 Aug 28th 06 - Duke Highwayman: Hmmm, let's see. British Medical Association versus a self-confessed dope smokers personal web-site. You are so correct Larry, I am really ignorant about research. So you work in the medical field do you? What as? Brain surgeon? Hospital Porter? Psychiatric Nurse? Something else? And what am I? How can you possibly make the assessment that I am attacking something I know nothing about? You really do like to fly off the handle don't you? Nice to see you use the classic druggie apologist tactic though: see if you can get us arguing about whether alcohol is better or worse than (so-called) recreational drugs. A bit like asking us to compare apples and oranges really. Simple fact: both do harm, both can (in controlled circumstances) do some good - if you had bothered your arrse to read the link I gave you perhaps you would have noted the BMA advocating medicinal use of cannabis notwithstanding their very real concern about the long-term detrimental effects of regular use for non-medicinal purposes. See countless recent PROPER pieces of research for more details. Hint: try google for reclassification of cannabis and see what's happened to UK druggies since...

15:23:46 Aug 28th 06 - Admiral Krum: I'm curious, who would you rather get in a car with, someone who just smoked a joint (regular smoker), or someone who drank a case of beer (regular drinker)?
15:38:00 Aug 28th 06 - Mr. Edgardo Mendoza Maldonado: I'll get in with someone that smoked a joint.
16:25:08 Aug 28th 06 - Mr. Hugh Hefner: My take: I don't smoke it, so that's my personal choice and I let people make their own. If nations want to curb kids from smoking it, take the 'thrill' out of it and make the stuff legal. Though that might hurt Holland's tourist industry. ;-)
16:29:11 Aug 28th 06 - Mr. Larry Flynt: You BMA site, is less accurate then the so called personal dope smokers site.
16:47:45 Aug 28th 06 - Duke Highwayman:
I wouldn't get in the car with either of them. Would you? Would you let your children play in the street if you knew someone who had just smoked a joint - or had a single can of beer - was about to drive down that street? Please all read the link I posted. It details the beneficial aspects of cannabis. You see, I can take a balanced view. But some people just refuse to accept that anything they enjoy can be harmful. I suppose that 's why we have such problems with alcohol. Notwithstanding that it is more addictive than cannabis of course before Mr Know It all corrects me again.
17:13:07 Aug 28th 06 - Admiral Krum: Highwayman, I agree that neither would be the best choice, but if you had to choose 1, who would you choose?
17:13:48 Aug 28th 06 - Mr. Larry Flynt: Well, if you knew what you were talking about to begin with then you wouldnt need to be corrected.
17:15:15 Aug 28th 06 - Mr. Larry Flynt: Im actually surprised to see your view on this Krum. I remember you being against drugs.
17:18:27 Aug 28th 06 - Duke Highwayman:
No comment | ||||
17:20:16 Aug 28th 06 - Mr. Larry Flynt: lol, why is that?
17:28:18 Aug 28th 06 - Duchess Bonnie Davina: I knew a guy who could chuck a case of coors down and still have being able to walk a straight line. One night, he had just one beer, took his baby for a drive to relax him, he survived.
| ||||
17:40:56 Aug 28th 06 - Duchess Bonnie Davina:
Sorry, left off something. He survived, the baby did not. He lost everything for one can of beer and taking a little drive.........
17:44:50 Aug 28th 06 - Sir Efrandor: "A single can of beer will not impair your driving ablity" It doesn't have to do with weak or strong, have a friend that is like 150 centimeters, rather slim and weak, he can drink, drink drink and drink, and hardly never get's drunk, I'm almost 2 metres and I can drink a beer(3.5%) and feel it, some people can take more some people can't, I'm not sad tough, I'm poor so it get's cheap for me.. Drink one beer here in Sweden and drive and you will get a bill, and probably loose you're license, why, because one beer can affect you.
17:56:25 Aug 28th 06 - Duchess Bonnie Davina:
*Applauds My dad was a law enforcement officer, and the stories he would tell of people drinking, no matter how little, is enought to make me never do that.
18:06:04 Aug 28th 06 - Sir Efrandor: *Blushes*
19:09:23 Aug 28th 06 - Mr. Larry Flynt: Hahaha, OMG the dramedy behind your story arien is well beyond belief.
19:21:44 Aug 28th 06 - Mr. Larry Flynt: So you 2 are saying that after going to your buddies house after dinner, and you have a beer you and your family sleep the night, and wait out that one beer?
22:54:14 Aug 28th 06 - Admiral Krum: Larry, I don't think you realize the tolerance of alcohol in some people. My ex gf could get thrashed on 1 beer....yeah she was a cheap date. Then again I have a friend who can drink 12 strong beers without so much as a burp.
23:03:22 Aug 28th 06 - Mr. Dark Mielo: (Efrandor: "I'm almost 2 metres and I can drink a beer(3.5%) and feel it,") Huh is the percent in your countries beer so low? Here in belgium it's like 5.4% alcohol for a normal beer... How can you get drunk of that percent? (I'm not laughing with you or anything.. Just curious)
23:19:09 Aug 28th 06 - Mr. Larry Flynt: I understand tolerance, but 1 beer isnt going to get someone so out of whack that they cant drive 15-20 mins after.
23:45:57 Aug 28th 06 - Duchess Bonnie Davina:
@Krum-WORD | ||||
00:10:04 Aug 29th 06 - Sir Efrandor: "(Efrandor: "I'm almost 2 metres and I can drink a beer(3.5%) and feel it,") Huh is the percent in your countries beer so low? I'm 18, so I'm not allowed to buy stronger drinks, don't know about the laws in other contries, are you not 20 here you can't by liquour and beer. 3.5% is the strongest you can buy, it's called peoples-beer to translate it right away:P But we do have beer with 18% (At least that is the strongest I have seen..) (Edited by Sir Efrandor 8/29/2006 12:11:09 AM)
00:15:08 Aug 29th 06 - Mr. Dark Mielo: I'm 17 (coming 18 in september ^^) and i can buy 5.4% beer...
00:50:34 Aug 29th 06 - Sir Efrandor: Well, like I said higher up in the thread, I get easily drunk, a 6-pack of those beers and I'm feeling just fine;)
01:15:40 Aug 29th 06 - Mr. Huo Yuanjia: lmao ive been reading all this and i like how its gone from dogs being stoned to a political deveate.... But i have to say i agree exactly with Mr. Larry Flynt... In Biology i was asked to do in depth research on to the stuff and come up with an essay... here it is if anyone is up for a weed ;) i mean read :) lol i "crack" myself up sum time :D not that i do crack im completly against that so dont get me wrong :) anyway here we go

01:16:48 Aug 29th 06 - Mr. Huo Yuanjia: Should Cannabis Be Legalised for Medicinal Purposes In The United Kingdom? Ganja, marijuana, weed, puff, smoke, pot, herb, dope, resin, grass, there are hundreds of names to describe it. These are the many words used in reference to Cannabis Cannabis is the most commonly used illegal drug in the UK with an estimate of around 1 million current users and 10 million people thought to have tried the drug in some time in there life. Nearly half of all 16-29 year olds have tried cannabis some time in their life, and a further half of them have used it within the last year. So with such a high number of users in this country, I ask my self, why has it become so popular? The Effects of Cannabis The desired effects experienced by users are talkativeness, cheerfulness, relaxation and greater appreciation of sound and colour. Cannabis users often describe the experience of smoking cannabis as initially relaxing and mellow, creating a feeling of haziness and light-headedness. This is known as being 'high' or 'stoned'. Physical Effects of Cannabis When smoked, cannabis is inhaled into the lungs, where the Alveoli filter gasses from the smoke, the main being delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol better known as THC. THC is the main psychoactive ingredient. The gasses filter into the blood stream introducing the THC into the body. The following is a list of the main areas of the body affected by cannabis and what causes it. The Skin:- Even though cannabis isnt an aphrodisiac, many users claim a heightened sensitivity and increased sex drive. The Stomach:- Users feel an increase in appetite. This is referred to as the Munchies in common slang. Molecules called endocannabinoids bind onto certain receptors in the brain, making the user fell hungry. The Heart:- Cannabis causes an increase in the cardiovascular action of the heart. Blood pressure is altered and the pulse rate quickens. The Mouth:- The air passage leading to the lungs expands and the mouth stops secreting saliva, leaving a dry mouth. This is commonly known as Dry mouth The Ears:- Sounds often become distorted or hearing heightened. The Eyes:- Pressure inside the eye decreases, causing the eyes to redden, and eyelids to become puffy. This is commonly known as Red Eye The Brain:- Chemicals called cannabinoids block certain electrical signals inside the brain, interfering with short-term memory and co-ordination. Often upsetting memory and Balance. The Effects of cannabis generally lasts up to 4 hours depending on the amount used, then the body returns to normal afterwards. There is no other side affects afterwards unless the user takes it to an excess on a regular basis. Legislative Status of Cannabis Cannabis was first made illegal in 1928, after it was linked to 'harder' drugs like heroin and opium. Up until the declassification in 2004 cannabis was classed as a class B drug, but this was changed to a class C when the law was relaxed a bit. But even though it is only a class C drug, it is still illegal. But if you are found in possession of cannabis, the majority of the time it is just confiscated and let off with a caution. You could be imprisoned for 2 years for possession of cannabis, but most of the time you would only be arrested if you were thought to have intent to supply the drug, in this case you can get a maximum of 15 years imprisonment. I will now discuss the pros and the cons of cannabis, linking them to why cannabis should or shouldnt be legalised in the UK. Supporting Cannabis to be legalised
Against the legalisation of Cannabis
The main argument for the legalisation of Cannabis has to be its effectiveness when used for medicinal purposes. Cannabis has been used for medicinal purposes for thousands of years, it dates back as far as 2800 BC in Chinese cultures, but is believed to be used even further back than that. The following is a table showing the kind of illnesses where people often use cannabis to help their symptoms. This table shows a number of random people who smoke cannabis for medicinal purposes and the illness that it is helping. This survey was carried out in California where cannabis has been made legal for medicinal purposes only. Only through a physician can cannabis be given prescribed legally. The main debate though on legalising cannabis for medicinal purposes is over the value of its medicinal properties relative to the risk posed by its use. The standards our healthcare lives up to in todays generation is very high, people expect all forms of healthcare from prescribed medicines to over the counter medicines to be 100% safe, reliable and at a proven efficiency. For this reason, it is being debated a great deal whether or not cannabis should be legalised for medicinal purposes because of some of its negative properties mentioned before. But in my opinion I think that the Pros out weight the cons of using cannabis for medicinal purposes. There is no risk of Overdosing on Cannabis and smoking it doesnt cause any real physical or psychological dependence on the drug. There is a slight possibility of minor withdrawal symptoms if it is smoked to excess on a regular basis, but they are very minor, nothing to serious to cause any serious harm. With all that in consideration, cannabis is a very effective method of relieving symptoms to a patient suffering long-term illnesses.
