i started in a much similar fashion to struddle =-D i had played many other boring games online starting with kings of chaos and found myself here. that was about 3-4 years ago now =-P i believe it was a banner ad.

I was bored a couple years ago and started going through MMORPG lists...tried Travian and some other game before finding VU and sticking with it.

Mine was very similar.

I was playing Travian, Lunar Wars and another game that was very well known in Lunar Wars, can't recall the name. Looked through some site lists, saw VU, and looked at it, but at that time the screen shots were hard to find and really sucked, and you could not see the forum. Then someone on Lunar Wars made fun of this game, but the way they said it, actually intrigued me. Especially the graphics he talked about, and how "it lacked politic settings", both Travian and Lunar Wars had "politic" boxes that you could check to say "so and so is my ally", etc.

So I joined, and now this is the only browser based game I play, besides the simple "flash games".

well i played a game called warbook...a lot of people i didnt really like went onto another game ikariam and raved about it there on our forums so i tried that and it was ok for a while. they then found themselves playing VU and raved about that on our forum...i took note but didnt play....then some old friends also from warbook started playing VU and invited me and i knew with my old nemesis' playing it already it would be very interesting indeed....so a whole bunch of us came over at the same time.

Aamir is responsible for a lot of us playing. blame him lol

www.orkfia.net - kinda fun, you have to be patient though
www.visualutopia.tk - the best of them all, there's a map ( game is in beta stages)
www.dreamlandz.com - in alpha stages so it sucks currently
