Swifties and Swifty wannabes - Also falls under the "Bigger Idiots" and "Scrubs" sections.

A none "vet" may still be able to contribute significantly to his / her kingdom if he / she is smart, committed, learns fast, listens to orders, makes good decisions and is a team player. You however, despite all your eras of playing, are what I call a "non-impact" player. Go think about what it means (if you are capable of thinking).
11:07:51 Apr 18th 11 - Mr. Barny The Late Starter: The term "veteran" has always been tossed around VU. There are certain names that come to mind when you think of the veteran players of VU, but actually defining what makes someone a veteran player is a grey zone at best. Short Version: Being a VU Veteran doesn't actually really mean anything of value, people don't always agree on who the veterans are, and sometimes the veterans are worse players than players who have only played the game for 2 or 3 eras. The only thing that really matters in VU is if a player is skilled and has an acceptable level of ethics/morales (honor). Long Version: Below are the conditions that the community has always seemed to use to define who a veteran is and isn't: The obvious condition would be the amount of time that someone has played the game. Some players believe that after playing the game for long enough they have achieved a higher status that is worthy of recognition, but that isn't the case. Most VU players have played the game for a pretty long time, but most VU players don't actually learn anything from era to era and never grow as a player. If you spend an entire era farming up a big army to defend a blocker, you won't get any better at the game. On top of that most players take prolonged breaks from the game at some point or didn't play consistently since they discovered the game; so the amount of eras someone has played usually isn't even an accurate measure of how long they have REALLY played the game. Regardless of this, to be considered a veteran player by the community you will have probably had to play the game for an obscene amount of time. Let's say since Era 20 without any significant breaks from the game. You will have had to have played the game for long enough to experience it's different cycles and the game mechanics that existed in the past. A good player used to be someone who could adapt to the constantly changing game, but it's impossible to gauge that anymore because it doesn't exist. The game mechanics in VU haven't changed for about 6 eras and probably won't ever change for a damn long time, so those who have not been around for a long time will never be able to compare themselves to those who have. The other factor that comes to mind is skill level. There are players who have retained their high skill level over years and years of playing the game, but in general it's tough to accurately gauge how good a player really is. Activity is a huge factor and plenty of the old players from VU are very inactive these days. On top of that it's always tough to see how good a player really is due to the conditions that can arise in an era of VU. Reputation often affects how others perceive a player's skill level, there is a thin grey line between how good a player ACTUALLY is and how good everyone THINKS a player is. A lot of players in VU have drastically overstated reputations, and no one is ever considered a veteran player without having a reputation that proceeds them by leagues and measures. Does anyone remember that thread a few months back where players tried to rate other players skill levels (I know this type of thread has come up before, I am talking about the most recent one)? It demonstrates that the line between skill and reputation is often blurred. There are PLENTY of players that are regarded as being highly skilled veterans of VU, but are in fact absolutely terrible players. I have been trying to avoid using names in this post, but I am sure that the reader can probably think of a few if he or she has been around long enough. It is important to note that "honor" falls under reputation as well. There are some great players who have backstabbed their kingdoms or outright cheated, no one will ever consider them to be veteran players due to their terrible reputations. This doesn't reflect my opinion on what defines a veteran player, but these are the standards that the community has generally always used to define veteran players. Time played Skill Reputation It doesn't take much critical analysis to see why those aren't really the best standards. It's tough to judge a player's skill. Players get better and sometimes worse as time passes or the game changes. Sometimes players go from being active to inactive. In reality the most important factor surrounding any player is how skilled they are. In theory, time player should lead to becoming a more skilled player, and reputation should be a result of a players skill. That isn't the case, and I doubt it ever will be.

11:41:02 Apr 18th 11 - Mr. Barny The Late Starter: Probably only 10 minutes or so, I had a good idea of what I wanted to say before I wrote it. Being a Veteran in VU doesn't actually really mean anything. Low-skilled players like Raistlin are universally considered to be veterans, but in reality they are actually not very good at VU despite their reputations or how long they have played the game. Players like Random, Bluelight, ect are pretty damn good players who don't have ridiculously built up reputations and probably never will. There are also some pretty good players who have terrible, terrible ethics and little to no honor like Anonymous, Eddo, ect. They are actually pretty good at Visual Utopia, but their willingness to do anything to win pretty much invalidates them as being players worthy of respect or far reaching reputations. Of course, there are some really good players who are considered veteran players as well like Elsin and Binh, and less active but equally skilled veteran players like Roxbury and Brashen. If I were to write up an ideal roster for a kingdom in Visual Utopia consisting of players who still play the game, I would probably leave out a lot of veterans and include a lot of lesser known but more skilled players.

Mocking Raisltlin there was a very bad choice :D he just can't be arsed to play logically anymore... if he actually does play now. For example, you could have chosen ford, he just sucks :D but joking... all vets are vets because they have built a good reputation over the past from playing good. I don't think I could name a vet, which still plays that is a bad player. They just don't have the interest, to put the effort to into logical thinking or playing active. I don't think we should bring anyone down because they're not in there prime anymore.

I know it sounds harsh and like an asshole thing to say, but hey, I'm being honest here. Generally speaking, most of the veteran players who are still around aren't nearly as active as they once were. Fordius, Brashen, Roxbury, Elsin, ect are far less active than they were in the past. That said, there are other veteran players with built up reputations who were actually never really that good.

Its finalfantasy 3 (that i liked a lot) against final fantasy 9-10 those are not bad either thoh i prefer gameplay over graphics and most people dont do that. Admin is back after a long time and trying to fix the game as best as he can. Community helped me out a lot in question section so i think it is not to bad. Legacy only thing i heard about them was that they were one of the best kingdoms around till they split or something.
