the ECB are idoit to suggest this; 'A plan to revamp the Pro 40 competition into a format of of two 20-over innings per side will also be discussed.' WTF 1 day cricket is only 1 innings and will never ever be a 2 innings game. STUPID idea ECB, very stupid
Indicative of whats happening to cricket. Its becoming a game that is more palitable to the ADD generation... Test cricket is what cricket is all about...
i agree, but that suggestion is completely stupid, how could you think of it, ECB
Do you get many people to your Pro 40 games?
Cricket? Is there any game more boring than that? Even American football with its 1 minute breaks after 5-10 seconds of play is more entertaining, which is saying something.
i preffer Pro 40 to twenty20, tp answer the question i don't know, but it is still better than twenty20
the quote "improvements" are as fair as i know only being "suggested"; however, something has to be done other wise cricket as we know it and love it in this country will be dead. recent improvements in atitudes towards 20 20 cricket in other parts of the world have broght sbout improvements in these countrys. INDIA has taken cricket almost to a premiership status with some players erarning around the same money as a top championship football player around 5-12 million pounds a year. althogh im not going to say i enjoy 20 20 cricket anymore than test cricket what i will say is that if we want to see the likes of kevin peterson and shane warn we need to do something to intrest the players and keep them over here. reguards attrill
yep they are only suggested, but it is still stupid to have 2 innings in a one day game, this twenty20 stuff has madethe game into a more luck baised bussiness which is silly as cricket is a game of skill. GIVE US MORE 4+ DAY GAMES
you mean a game can last up to 4 whole days??? how do you watch a game like that? and how long does a cricket-day last (maybe a day is 4 hours or something)?
Actually up to 5 days in a Test match and it goes for 8 hours a day.. Thus it is a true Test..
i know that ^ but england play a 4 day game in our LV county championship.
| ||||
I was responding to Mushasji's Post Ant..
ok lol, i didn't read his when i wrote mine
Cricket is about drinking beer in the sun. If they make games only go for a few hours instead of 5 days, then that is much less beer drinking time.
lol, cricket is about playing and testing your skills and pateince
A game lasting 8 days? The only thing that tests are my nerves.
Niko, if you tell your wife, girlfriend or mother that you going to go out on five consecutive days to get hammered it will cause all kinds of problems and arguments. However, if you tell them that you are going to watch the cricket. Well that just seems more acceptable....
pedro cricket only last 5 days MAX shut up if you don't know what you are talking about ^to pedro only
Oh I'm sorry I confused 8 hours with 8 days, my mistake only 5 days. That's so much better isn't it? What kind of no lifer must you be to watch a match that lasts 5 days?
Perdo you clearly don't play cricket, have no idea about cricket and hence have no place in a thread about cricket! GOOD BYE!!
Crickets geyyyyyyy sorry had to say it.... It just is Go watch something more entertaining. If you find that entertianing well then you are totally screwed the *beep* up in the head................. I MEAN REALLY SCREWED UP. Did you have to much booze or were you brainwashed???
I have too agree with Cobra on the topic, and everything he has said in here :/
only if you dont understand the skill involved. the decition time on how your going to hit the ball is something like .4 secounds to work out how were and swing the batt. as a bowler you got to take the ground into account how wet dry moist it is bumps cracks the damige to the ball windige how fat to bowl how and where to bounce the ball what wicket your aiming for what position is the batsman in and is he likely to change it. The fastest ball ever bowled that was recorded, was 100mph (160kmh) by Pakistani fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar it happened during the last World Cup in 2003... Nick Knight of England was the batsman and he defended it only haveing .3 secounds to react. now ill allow you to make judgement on if thats boring but its not to almost two billion television viewers without mentioning the the avid fans that went to go watch is a hell of a lot of people. so if you dont enjoy cricket fair enouth i dont like nasscar or baseball. just dont comment in the forum. kind reguards attrill
Did you say a game last 5 days? SNORE. Get your valium pill out of my TV.
pedro you now look like an idoit for repeating the same point, plus i would like to the batsman can't acually see the ball, from fast blower, when he hits it as it moves accross his vision too quickly ^THAT is a fact
even in amiture cricket that happens i know people that bowl at 80mph :S
Try golf... xD | ||||
umm...cricket is awesome! i love it...even tho it mite be boring to watch.....but its very fun to play...i used to play a lot in india
