VU has a great variety of gameplay options.
Choose from one of six races every era
- Elves who are known for their great magic
- Halflings known for their income, and food production
- Humans the neutral of the races who excel at nothing, but great at everything
- Orc known for their brute force and strong armies
- Trolls also known for their strong armies, but with a bit more economy than orcs
- Dwarves known for their greedy-ness and vast richness
Use many of the cool interactive map features, and many of the other game features.
- Build a colony, build near a certain resource and get a nice bonus
- Cast magic from anywhere as long as you have the magic power
- Create your own kingdom with a friend
- Send messages to other rulers and come to an agreement of war or peace
- Create vast armies to destroy and take out your enemies
- Travel to different worlds and find new enemies to fight
- Control the market and make millions
- Train units anywhere there is peasants
- Look at your production and see where your defence is overall, and find out what is limiting your empire from expanding
- Research, or find sciences to further increase your military prowess or economical power
Thats all i got so far...(is it good enough?)

"in VU we got 6 races go control every era and elf or a sadist orc who kill their friends in exchange of force halfings weak but great income"
I think we want to attract people to join VU not scare them away

VU also has a ranking system which is updated everytime you log in
- Find out who is strongest in your realm
- Figure out which cities to look out for
- Know who has the strongest army in the world
- See how many soldiers you've killed, and how many cities you have taken over
- Compare your kingdom to other kingdoms and see who is truely more powerful
Little bit more?

as i said its cool but bit boring
|
I think we want something that points out the good features.. not just lists them.. where are the RP'ers!
they can make the goods come to life xD!
|
didnt have time to read the suggestions, but i think it should say that VU is played by all ages, but a recomandation of 14-15+
cause it gets kinda complicated for the younger. and it might attract more older players that are looking for a good game.
|
I started playing when I was 13... And yes it was a bit much there.
I would describe VU as a strategy more than an RPG... Just cause I have tried several RPGs and they suck but I like all the strategy games I play. And you dont have to get involved in roleplaying.
Also, I would point out the diversity that VU has. Look at how many different countries are represented in the "where are you from" thread. Its a mixing pot and a multicultural community.
|
''I started playing when I was 13... And yes it was a bit much there.''
i started younger than you! >:O
|
VU is a MMORPG were you are able to take control of one of six race's, you can build cities, train vast army's, join a kingdom or make on your self and forge your name in the history book's and get an era named after yourself.
|
now thats what i am talking about!
|
In visual-utopia, you take the role of a ruler. Together with other rulers you can play for a kingdom, protect lands, attack the enemy, work as a team to achieve victory. Each game runs for about 2 months at the time, and the goal is to become the best player and kingdom.
Some strategic features is the market, where you can sell and buy resources with other players. And then we have the worlds, each world is a map with mountains, lakes and forests, and all maps are linked together, making it possible to challange the top kingdoms that might be located in another world.
Six awesome races in a medieval war game, hundreds of players in a wonderfull community. ---------------------------------- Start playing today!

The greatest general of the last era killed 4 millions troops, won 537 battles and captured 379 cities. Can you beat him the new era in the only real web based strategy game?
Something like that, I don't know so good english to write something better... :)
|
Dwarves known for their greedy-ness and vast richness
correction- greediness
Another thing if you want VU to look fun, is to get spelling right, so make sure you get it right because there are errors in the game that are simple fixes that make the game look poorly put together. not jumping YOU Brainiac, just saying that if admin implements any new descriptions, make them grammatically correct and punctuated in the correct form. ;)
|
|
CORRECTION: ITS GREEDY-NESS
|
Correction: It's
Correction: Greediness
|
|
Megas' is actually a good advertising hook i think.
|
The welcome page has been updated. Braniac and Argyl have recived a bonus turn for their entry.
|
|
why you put in picture of walls while they arent in game, just cut the pic and leave the arzun/drenth msg
|
the welcome page looks good, but i still would have put in a recomandation of age to attract people over 15. i think it would be positive for two reasons: people under 15 would see it as a challange to join a game where its recomanded to be atleast 15. also i think the older people will get a good impression and think its not a lame game for 12 year olds:P (put on the edge)

Visual Utopia is a browser based fantasy strategy game. It runs in real time wich means that even if you are sleeping your peasants will be working, commisioned buildings will be completet and your armies will be moving. Of course, your enemies armies will be moving too...
The setting for this truly epic war game is a fantasy world with six very different races and a multitude of different strategies at your disposal. Its important to note that the "world" is infact several connected 2D maps with no limitations apart from terrain to where you can move your armies or build your cities. Of course, due to the fact that the game never "sleeps" the world of Visual Utopia is a very dangerous place. It can be a good idea to join a kingdom so you can cover eachother, or get some friends to start playing and create a kingdom with them.
Since everything in Visual Utopia is player-run the social aspect of the game is extremely important and eventhough the game has a fairly simple base it can get very very complicated. How you play is of course up to you, unite your part of the map against a common threat or try to make profit by stabbing them in the back. All goes in love and VU.
Oh, and a last note. Even if you think you are getting a hang of this game you will be surprised. This is probably the most chaotic, destructive and challenging game you will ever have played. If you survive your first era you're either a genious or very lucky. So what are you waiting for? Give it a try. Or two.

Build Elven sorcerer cities with gleaming spires, Dwarven grottoes glistening with gold, Orc strongholds bristling with defences, Knightly castles with hearty taverns, Halfling Shires of Summer green and Troll halls resounding with the sound of beating drums.
Then conquer them all with huge armies of fearsome troops and powerful spells in a furious and violent struggle for domination.
Are you ready to make history?
|
The taverns are useless though :o I wouldn't want a knightly castle then o.o
|
mah knights are pwetty. their salaries are too high though...
|
da screenies hav walls, but now we hav no walls :(
|
make other screens, or give us walls? i'd say the walls look cool on screens, so give us walls?
|
Yes get some new map screen shots would be the first thing i would change
|
da screenies hav walls, but now we hav no walls :(
Maybe it's a sneak peek into next era... Something he's not going to TELL us he's going to do. =D
