Is there anyone that is considered to be the best in this game?
From the previous eras, I can see a player has won 4 eras... Rambo.
Would that make him the best player ?
What do you think, who is the best?

There is no 'Best Player'

A player can only do so much for his kingdom

The longest playing person is Sir Drunken in LGC - Player perhaps 50+ Eras ?
Would that make him the best? No, just means hes got addiction problems ;D

Most of the time, the era winner is

1. Whos kingdom is doing well
2. Who can farm well

Much more?

i would say sloth :D for one but he isnt playing atm as for best well you would have to ask best at what type of play

Well we clearly have some players that know all the tricks of the game, like Sloth, Sun, some guys from LGC though they're getting worse :P

Rambo was a CEATER !

I think draiken was very good,btk, swifty, frederick,seth,carrot,sloth even cobra and ford , there are a lot of good and active players around.

But the greatest of all times is Crom. =)

Ph, all you name are palyers who are/were in strong kingdoms or have won eras.

Beeing succesfull in a good kingdom is easy, though I have to say, Sloth is real freak with his formulas abut the game :D.

My personal best player is Fra, not because he might be most active fighter or smartest diplomat :D.
He has the heart on the right place and has the instinct how to play, make strange decission, trying out something new.
All other good player are just doing that what was proven to guarentee success. That makes them good, but not best.
My oppinion.

*beep* I never said HOH player, and yes neither Sloth or Sun are even in the top 5. Just because in your little world Sloth is god does not mean it is for everybody.

This thread is about "The Best" so why post if you don't think Sloth is the best?

And again... when I said top5 I didn't mean HOH, I mean the best top5 players ever, it has nothing to do with HOH.

Calling Rambo the biggest cheater to take away credit from his era wins is just as childish. You guys have to realize that there was a time in this game where ZeTa didnt spend any energy on the game, and it was basically held together by duct tape.

For many many early eras, every round was decided on who could find the better "cheat" and win that way. Moving troops around like Rambo did pales in comparison to all the stuff thats happened before that and after. Remember that era that kc won, where every turn was 1 minute long? Remember Sezy's (or was it Tobler) win when you could cast a "nothing to stone" spell.. or something like that. Remember the era when deathace, quietone and others were punished for using a merge bug where you could attack a town or army halfway across the map without walking there. The list goes on.


Going by most era wins, the best player is Raistlin. If you judge what player is most successful at self promotion, then the best player is undoubtedly Fordius =)

So what exactly did Rambo do?

Yeah, I read and gathered that much, but im keen to know what he did to have the whole VU community calling him the biggest cheater.

AND how he managed to 'cheat' his way to winning 4 era's without being found out.

Rambo 4 wasn't out the*beep*r>can VU players read the future....

if its about attacking, I'd have to say Binh (he was always a pain in the ass to fight, especially during the 3 man kingdoms)

As for building and overall, Btk is a really good player.

As for magivc you would want Ez or Roxbury

But then again those 4 are from LGC.

Then you got Sparker who was good back then.

And lets not forget about Jeker
or Merel (not his real player name, cant remember as i know him as merel :P)

As for use of game mechanics; auspice & his companions.

But my favorite would have to be Naerey, dedicated and friendly + can put up a really good teammate.

but then again..

The early days of VU, I am guessing had a lot of open ends that could be exploited :p

Frederick, i thought that the agent smith kingdom (saint paul, auspice ,etc) were the biggest cheaters.

Most new features , liek merging, no upkeep on friendly towns, etc . Do have one or more eras that loopholes or unforseen features are found and (ab)used.

loved the feature , that an army only containing nazguls was much stronger, than in combination with mages, and then merging was invented ^^ .

atleast some of the old members are still alive.
My erawas ruined by that 1 minute bug, i even had to end it myself.
