Woken again by the hunger pains that he was feeling, Harkaa stormed outside and growled with frustration beating a tree so hard that it fell onto another and the domino effect created a rough circle of fallen trees. Looking at what he had unwittingly created around several dwellings he began to pace. Tired of hunger, tired of living in fear, only aiming to find his next meal, an idea came to him. Speaking with his neighbours he challenged the aging leader of his clan and killed him in cold blood, taking control of the small settlement of Cthol Mishrak. As the new leader he immediately commanded the inhabitants to set their task to growing food and cutting trees to expand their settlement. In short order the first food was grown and as the population began to see the increase in the quality of their lives they began to become more and more loyal to their new leader, and as they went from settlement to settlement Harkaa became known as Warlord after his bullying and annihilation of all who stood in his way. Not content with the growth of his own settlement he sent groups of Trolls to make new settlements and grow their domain. Word spread through the trolls of the world and many flocked to his growing lands, forming man sub-clans as new settlements were established and mines were started, and defensive fortifications constructed. As his clans spread out they came across a group of Orcs, also wanting similar things yet not wanting to argue over territory as was usually the case, and an alliance was formed between the 2 clans and races. Claiming more and more land was not enough and Harkaa looked beyond the mountain borders of his claimed lands, his growing ambition to control the entire world driving him on as he send small groups of Trolls throughout the world to seek ot like minded people or to find new areas to claim. Mines and new camps were springing up over the world, and yet it was not enough. Putting out a general call to all in the clans who would listen, armies were beginning to be raised, their eyes set on richer lands to claim, foreign settlements to loot and pillage, and other races to take as slaves to work in the mines or to sell to pay for the armies that were making their presence felt through out the world. As they spread out word was coming back that much of the lands they were surveying was uninhabited, yet occasionally there was a stubborn race that refused to capitulate. New armies were raised and their banners hung high, black and red, painted in the blood of their fallen victims, the banners went before the armies as they razed any land they crossed, rendering it unusable by any other. Should someone try and establish any sort of camp there, trolls would arrive in short order and surround the new settlement, burning it to the ground, killing the men, taking the woman as slaves, and eating the children so they would never again pose a threat to the security of their newly found lands and prosperity. | ||||
