The walls blazed and the buildings went up in smoke. The great and impervious city of Arken had been breached. The streets swarmed with enemies and the workers of the city were massacred where they stood. Every building burned.
Revenge's clothes were burnt and he coughed deep into his hand, his face has smudges of black and he had a slight limp after slipping on the stairs as he made his escape [ Good opener ^^ ]
[thanks, it took me all of a half hour to write. I know, I'm wasting my life, blah blah blah...]
Army Headquarters "Sir, we have reports of enemy forces burning a important city to the ground" said the scout. "What are the death totals you can tell so far?" said the commander. "129,097 people lived there. 129,085 people's bodies were found." "..." "Sir, we found footprints in the forset nearby. The 12 survivors are walking to the nearest town." "Let us hope the enemy doesn't feel too evil and destroys that one too..." Twelve hours later "Sir, they destroyed all the cities in that enclosed area! The total death toll was 128,473,009 out of 128,473,008." "So one survivor..." "The enemy is heading for the Western Core." "Then we need to act quickly. Send a 1,000,000 army to attack their core." "What of the survivors?" "We have more pressing matters at hand. We need to repel the attackers before we can start a search party. They will have food. The city they were heading for had a secret stash of food enough for 2,000 exhausted soldiers and seconds. They have enogh food to last until we send search parties. As for now, move your armies here and send another forces right above them. We also need to secure our core too. Their attack force is strong, but lets hope we can hold them off until the other forces reach them. Zeta, have mercy on us all..."
What the hell was that O.o
Capital City - The High Command "You summoned me, Sir?" "Yes, captain. Have a seat. As you may have heared, we where attacked by an unknown force. They have massacred several of our cities. Saddly, only few inhabitants survived. I want you to take a cavalry cohort a search for them." "Which unit am I to command, Sir?" "The Storm Cohorte! Now go! Find them and bring the here. They hold valuable information. Dismiss!"
Army Headquarters "Sir, the capital wants The Storm Cohorte for a search party." "WHAT!?! We need that force to attack the enemy. But, if they said so..." One hour later "Sir, the Storm Cohorte has just departed." "Yes, I know..." "Sir, enemy forces wish to send a messenger." "He may come under the condition that he brings no weapon." "Yes sir, I'll let him in..."
Capital City - North Gates The horsemen streamed on from the city. They assembled on the plains in front of the gates, next to the road to Arken. A horsman came through the gate. He was wearing a black tunic with a silver eagle on his chest, black leather boots with silver spurs and a black cape from which the hilt of a sword appeared. He rode to the front of the detachment. "Men, the city of Arken has fallen. We are to find the survivors and bring them to safety. I must confee to you that I do not know what awaits us. We may perish in this search. All those who do not wish to come with me are dismissed." No one moved from the ranks. "Very well them! We move!" The sounds of one thound horses galloping was heared in the city. The Storm Cohorte was riding to save the survivors and only Khorol knew what was in front of them. May the light of Khorol shine above them and they return safely with the survivors.
[This has progressed differently to how I thought, but I can work with it...]
Enemy Forces HQ "Master, they plan to attack us with a pitiful force. They sent their best forces to find the survivors, HAH!" "They will not make it, we already sent a force to attack them. One of them has information that could change the tide of the war!" 'Where are we to attack?" "The Northern Wall. There are less defences there and they expected us to attack the Southern. Also, when did the messenger get to the capital?" "He gave me a message that he just got there." "Good, we will bargain our information about the wall for them to forget about the survivors. Mwahahahaha!!!!!!" *Evil, cruel laughter is heard through out the entire building*
The Storm Cohorte was galloping through the forest, the hoves of one thousand horse*beep*ting the ground could be heared by everyone twenty miles around. But this didn't matter for them. They wanted to find the survivors. Most of them had relatives and friends in the city of Arken, and they wanted to know if they were still alive. Suddently, an arrow flew and hit the ground in front of the captain. "Ambush!" All soldiers drew their swords and manned their spears as wild men came out of the bushes on all sides of the road. It seems the enemy knew about them.
The refugees heard clashes of steel and cries of pain. They were not far, and instinctively they sent a reconnaissance party to see what was going on.
After killing the last enemy, captain Delran, took some grass and wiped the blood from his sword and put it back in the scabbard. The ground was covered with blood and bodies. "Count our dead and wounded! Take care of our wounded and slay the others. Search our dead of any valuables and papers to send to their families, then burry them with their armour and swords. Take their shields and spears though." he ordered to his men. "Sir what about their dead?" "Burn them after you will take everything they have. Also count them!" Two hours later the captain received this report: 70 soldiers killed 5 sergeants killed 3 lieutenants killed 2 centurions killed 30 soldiers injuried Enemy casualties: 2000 men killed "Sir!" a soldier came running to the captain. "I found this in the tunic of one of the enemy officers." and hands him some papers. "Let me see. By the Light of Khorol! These are attack planes for the Capital City and other major towns. Khorol must be good to us, although we paid them dearly. I want a sergeant with his squad to be ready for departure this instance. The mission is to take our wounded to safety and deliver this to the High Command. I will make copies from it." After reading them another time: "Oh no! This is terrible! We have a traitor amongst us. Sergeant you will give the original to the king and copies to all our generals. Also give one to captain Arvious." The squad left a few moments later, galloping back to the Capital. The others put the weapons of their fallen and the loot from the enemy on the free horses and those taken from the enemy and continued their journey. Many miles were between them and the refugees, and now their ranks were thinned.
High General Cephorus Septim IV sat in his chair, at his desk, reading the reports on the attack. He got up, went over to the sink, and washed his face with cold water before going and sitting down again. Another man walked in. "Hello Antonis", said Septim. "Hello Cephorus", said Antonis. Antonis was a Colonel, and was one of Septim's greatest friends. "Have you read the report yet?", asked Septim. "Yes I have, it is what I came to talk to you about...what are we to do about the attack on the capital?", asked Antonis. "I want every soldier from the attack on the small town brought here, along with the refugees, the soldiers are to be put under my command. I am going to take them and infiltrate the ranks of the enemy, weaken them from inside...", said Septim. "Yes sir...", said Antonis. Antonis left and Septim sat back in his chair.
Elven Outpost in the Green Divide
Army Headquarters "So, you're the messenger from the enemy..." "What?" "Why are you here? If you do anything to harm us, I will cut you in half." "We wish to give you information about are attacks." "What for!?!" "Nothing." *hands the file to me* "Leave, and never come back." *reads file* "What a load of trash." 2 hours later "Sir, we have great and grim news from Captain Delran." "They have found enemy battleplans and have sent us a copy." *reads file* "So the messenger did tell the truth. We have a change of plans now." "Also, the force the captital sent to find the survivors have been attacked and barely have 75 men." "Did they defeat the enemy?" "Yes, the force of 2,000 men were killed." "And that force we had only had 150 knights." "Sir, what are your orders?" "You are dismissed. I need to think over what needs to be done." *general leaves room*
[The Storm Cohorte has 1000 soldiers and 71 officers as following: 1 captain 10 centurions 20 lieutenants 40 sergeants My losses are 80 soldiers and officers killed and 30 soldiers wounded. Also you can count the other 26 sent to the Capital City (25 soldiers and 1 sergeant) to escort the wounded and bring the news.]
whatever, like it matters...
[Well it does! If I have too few men, I can't rescue the survivors, I would end up with no men to carry on the mission.]
The soldiers were galloping through the forest. Their destination was near - the city of Arken. They stopped in the forest and changed their clothes and equipment with the ones they took from the enemy, in case someone would bump on them while they were scouting the area. The captain took a squad and head for the outskirts of the city to investigate, while the others were searching for tracks in the forest. Two hours later, when the hole units assembled, their findings were little: the survivors, a arround 2000 men, women and children fled to the forest. Their tracks went deeper into The Great Divide. It seems that the Cohorte had to split up into smaller units and search for them. Just then, a horn cried from the city. Their presence in the area was known. They spurred their horses and rode into the depts of the forest.
[we still need some elves]
[Well, then someone should try to be the elves.]
(This is one of the main traitors in the story... and one of the heros too) Outside the Main Camp "That commander will mess up all my plans." said the general. *pulls out note* 'a messenger will come and talk to the commander. Give him the copy of our battleplans that we left a copy on a footsoldier. he will never guess that you are on our side. -Resfedo' "They will all fall because of me and my partner" This is how you will recognize him: *general leaves room*
[I am sory Arvious, but I don't quite understand. Can you be a little more specific?]
| ||||
[Aha... and my mission and caturing of their plans was a hard blow for them. Do they know about their missing plans? I mean, their spy informed them?]
No the file was planted on the soidier purposely. A battle is about to commence here: The blue squares are our forces, red is there's. We have one city here. We must destroy, not take over, DESTROY Vido Fortress. King Vido is one of the enemies allies. The pink bar in the middle between our and their forces is the wall they built. The Blue and red triangles are army camps. They usually have 10,000 troops and a general at each place. Grey Peak Town is of no importance to me. You may take it over or burn it. DON'T GO TO THE 'MORE ENEMY TERRITORIES!!! We don't have enough resources to take the next area. This battle is crucial to our success and if we lose this, all hope is lost for us...
[I cannot see the map, and I am still in The Green Divide, with enemies on my tail.]

[Can you try and update the map so I could see it?]
*The group stoped in a clearing, they were all and accounted for. They needed some time to rest and regain some strenght. The enemies were far behind but still in pursuit. They set up camp and deployed a few scouts and sentries. An eagle started to circle arround the clearing. Delran raised his hand and the eagle landed on it.* "You are still with me dear friend! I have a job for you. I need you to take a message to the High Command." *Delran took a pencil and some parchment for his backpack and started to write. "To the High Command, I have found evidence of the survivors in the Green Divide. I am tracking them down, but I am on the run. Enemy forces are on my tail. I have made some scouting activity in the area of Arken. The enemy is gatherring large numbers of troops. The attack on the Capital City is about to begin." He rolled the parchment and tied it to the claws of the eagle, then set him loose. The eagle circled arround the clearing and then head off for the Capital City. The soldiers readied the lunch and all started to eat. After eating some took a nap, but they were awaken by the others. The scouts and sentries saw the enemies closing in a alerted the camp. In half an hour everything was packed and all traces were erased. The men mounted their horses and set spurrs on them. Again they were on the move, heading depper into The Green Divide.* [Arvious, is the battle taking place near The Green Divide? Because if it does, be sure that you will have a surprise if I do not find the survivors.]
No signup list | ||||
It's a mile away from the center of the green Divide, where you are. YES THERE IS A SIGN-UP LIST.
Ladies and gentlemen, I have an end of era announcement.
Man, you could of messaged me... This always happens... *leaves looking sad*
If Arvious retires, then this thread could continue, if other people would join and someone would take care of the elves, or if Arvious stops his plans about the battle and continues as an officer of the command center (just posting actions and dialogues, no battle plans in which to try and involve other people). No offense Arvious. Also, Septim and Revenge can post a little more.
hmm ok | ||||
Then is all good, but I can't post anything until someone else will post. I was the last one to post about the story.
Okay, no more battles! *Comes back in* Army Command "Sir, some mage is reversing time." "Oh no! We must sto..." *time reverses to the point when the city was burned* "Sir, a band of rogues burned a town. There were only 13 survivors." "Seems unlucky." *grabs paper and quill* "Send this message to the Stom Cohorte." "What is it about?" "We need to find the survivors." *Arvious IIII and his messenger leaves* Note: NO WAR UNLESS DEMONSUL SAYS SO!!!
God, I hate time reversing spells, and Arvious seems to use them a lot...
| ||||
Two Hours Later "Sir, at Arken we found footsteps leading into the Great Divide (Yes I'm bringing back that). The elves there are very violent and could kill the survivors. What are we to do?" "Don't worry, the Storm Cohorte hasn't failed me yet (this era). DID I SAT THAT OUT LOUD!?!" *assistant runs out with a look of terror on his face* "Okay, so he doesn't worry, I'll have to go with them. They leave in 10 minutes. A short gallop on my horse should do..."
