Landscape |
This is an RP with more rules than you can shake a stick'o'sp@m at, so pay attention, you lazy RPers!
First off you can claim a color. This is not vital as I keep record of all buildings but it helps tell them apart.
The whole concept derives around a block system. I will explain as we go along. Of course, its best to explain with examples.
There is the example land we will build on. It will also be the first terrain that exists, so pay attention.
OK, now we've got our landscape (which is shared by all players by the way) we can start building. First off a house will probably be a smart choice. Now, when we build, the aforementioned blocks come into play. This is a block:
Each block takes 10 materials, fills up 10x10 pixels, and you usually need more than 1. It would be a good idea to remember that.
Houses come in all shapes and sizes, but the minimum house is two blocks and the maximum is 6 blocks. Anything larger is divided, and unless you specify where, I will divide it...in a mean way! Anyway, I want a medium sized house, 4 blocks. Something like this:
I can place that group of blocks anywhere on the map, marking it with a number. I then use that number in the post with the picture to explain what it is. You need to do this to show what you're building! If you are only building one thing you don't need to number it. So I wouldn't have to number this. You need to add the buildings in their tetris-ish forms to show how many blocks you use, but when the building is done the gaps between the blocks will disappear and it will become one smooth block. This whole thing can be done with just copy and paste and knowledge of 123, so don't groan.
Thats the building laws. Now onto economics. Person: Required to work Materials: Required to build Food balance: 0 means you are satisfying your towns hunger. Food cannot be stockpiled. Peasants subtract 1 food each.
House: Houses 2 people per block. 2b(blocks)-6b Field: Provides 2 food balance per block. 1b-9b Quarry: Provides 0.5 materials every day per block (rounded up). 4b-9b Store: Can store unlimited materials, but you might want more than 1, because if all are captured you lose all materials to capturer of final store. Group Store: Shared store. Can choose number of materials stored there out of total. Barracks: Trains 1 soldier every day per block. 4b-15b Science Post: Improves effectiveness of solders slightly with every block. 1b-15b [max of 1, if captured it is destroyed]
Trading: Impossible, there is only one resource! Nothing to trade it for! Use a group store to share it if you want.
Battles now, so pay attention again! I can tell you are dozing!
If you say you attack, say which building(s) you attack, wait for the defense to post their defensive tactic, then post your attacking tactic. No war machines, no superweapons, no god-modding.
If you are attacked, post your tactic after they say which buildings are under attack and hope for the best. None of the afore mentioned banned stuff.
I will then post the outcome of the battle. If I do not post within 24 hours of the attack tactic being posted the defense automatically win with no casualties to either side.
The defense post their tactic first because they don't know what the attacking forces are up to, whereas any good attacking force does due to recon.
Okay guys, now is the time to start this thing. Here is the map again, for tose too lazy to scroll up.
And here is a block, with a 2x2 quick block group. Now choose a color and sign up!

yes i know, its tons to read, but it works
*falls asleep from writing so much*
btw if you didn't guess you cant build on map objects e.g. water
I cant do this cause i cant use any picture making tools...
Ill be black.....im not racist.....
zryike, it requires paint. thats all. copy and paste. click and drag. draw a number. thats it.
Still cant do it... anything requiring that i draw on the computer does not work... trust me...
- Erunion Telcontar
Everyone starts with 100 materials btw
oh yeah sorry might
- Erunion Telcontar

Also all buildings require one peasant each to operate and buildings can be demolished for free...i forgot to mention that
ok, we can start whenever (ie now, but people can join mid-game), and i want in. i promise you i will not cheat.

[btw on the second day i will give everyone more materials to help them get going]
I hope I did it right :D
could you do clear text boxes? if youre using paint its the other option under the tool panel im gonna guess they are 2x2 for now
Erunion: M: 100 P: 0 F: 0 S: 0 Might: M: 20 P: 8 F: 0 S: 0 Demonsul: M: 20 P: 8 F: 0 S: 0

I'm sorry. Count me out, I just don't have time for this.
a mine/quarry needs to be at least 4 blocks big. sorry seloc don't worry though i always redo pictures so you could really just copy+paste the blocks form my explanatory post
Might: M: 20 P: 8 F: 0 S: 0 Demonsul: M: 20 P: 8 F: 0 S: 0 Seloc: M: 20 P: 8 F: 0 S: 0
I have just noticed I have this entire riverside to myself at the moment...you can build anywhere and troops can cross anything so I'm not invulnerable though.
ah hell, everyones done for today, you get your bonus 150 materials now! Might: M: 170 P: 8 F: 0 S: 0 Demonsul: M: 170 P: 8 F: 0 S: 0 Seloc: M: 170 P: 8 F: 0 S: 0
!!!Stores will not be optional after tomorrow has ended!!! (stores and group stores are 3x3, i forgot to mention)
my next bit of building is now done! (stupid edit time limit thingy making me make a new post)
Might: M: 170 P: 8 F: 0 S: 0 Demonsul: M: 23 P: 8 F: 0 S: 0 <the 3 in materials is from the quarry Seloc: M: 170 P: 8 F: 0 S: 0
Still confused on what tool to use :P
im going to assume you are using paint when you ask it to do a textbox two things come up under the tool selection panel. highlight the one that isnt highlighted. you get text without a background!
Might: M: 23 P: 8 F: 0 S: 0 Demonsul: M: 23 P: 8 F: 0 S: 0 Seloc: M: 170 P: 8 F: 0 S: 0

We don't seem to be doing much different from each other :S
yes, but now we all have the basics we can do what we please (although an army is a good option) buildings can be any shape of square/rectangle and size as long as they fit the right amount of blocks. e.g. you could have a 1x9 block quarry.
and also, if you attack someone you have to have a general direction-eg you cant just move your army to your enemies center without passing through the convening space. you have to battle your way through their buildings.
DAY 2 Might: M: 26 P: 8 F: 0 S: 0 Demonsul: M: 26 P: 8 F: 0 S: 0 Seloc: M: 26 P: 8 F: 0 S: 0
Ok, all right, this is starting slow, i really didnt consider the starting materials well did i? ok, everyone gets another 200! woohoo! but this is the last time, so build a big quarry!
DAY 2 Might: M: 226 P: 8 F: 0 S: 0 Demonsul: M: 226 P: 8 F: 0 S: 0 Seloc: M: 6 P: 16 F: 0 S: 0
Can I move some of my building or are they stuck there? M: +12 F: 0 (exactly) Thats right, right? so what do peasents atually do?
no, each block in a house provides 2 peasants, so you need another field. 1 peasant is required to operate each building (except house of course)
Each building as in each block? and what happens if I have negative food?
1 peasant runs each building as a whole, but each block INSIDE the building provides peasants. this means larger buildings are more efficient.
Negative food basically means your army goes on strike. They dont attack, defend or even be manufactured but thats about it.
Do you ant to try different buildings (i obviously didn't explain well so its my fault) or stick with those ones? I would build different ones to be honest.
Just to show you heres my one:
DAY 2 Might: M: 226 (+3) P: 8 F: 0 S: 0 Demonsul: M: 61 (+8) P: 8 F: 0 S: 8 Seloc: M: 226 (+3) P: 8 F: 0 S: 0 Yes, I have soldiers!
DAY 2 Might: M: 226 (+3) P: 8 F: 0 S: 0 Demonsul: M: 61 (+8) P: 8 F: 0 S: 8 Seloc: M: 61 (+8) P: 8 F: 0 S: 8 lol, anyway thanks, don't soldiers need food to?
no, otherwise the map will quickly fiil up with countless farms they eat the grass/ground for some reason
might dont build the exact same buildings please like seloc did
lol I needed a mine, and soldiers to protect myself from you.
yes, and you still have enough to build 6 more blocks
Yeh but I want enought to build 12, no point building a farm without a house.
DAY 3 Might: M: 109 (+3) P: 8 F: -8 S: 16 (+8) (wont fight) Demonsul: M: 69 (+8) P: 8 F: 0 S: 16 (+8) Seloc: M: 69 (+8) P: 8 F: 0 S: 16 (+8)
Might needs a 4-block field to satisfy his people!
I'm not gonna do anything today.
bad attitude! invade selocs land!
attack the field!
(i usually judge attacks, but seeing as im attacking, i will hire an impartial judge)
lol Demonsul it's called stock piling reasources......why not attack Might his soldier won't attack back.
meh, fine, call back the men...anyway i have a better plan
Might: M: 109 (+3) P: 8 F: -8 S: 16 (+8) (wont fight) Demonsul: M: 22 (+11) P: 8 F: 0 S: 16 (+8) Seloc: M: 69 (+8) P: 8 F: 0 S: 16 (+8)
What do you mean that my soldiers wont attack?
Your on negative food you soldiers won't do anything.
Im not on negative. I have the same amount of soldiers as you and have two farms.
