The Path to Darkness... | ||||
---|---|---|---|---|
I once walked across a beautiful meadow, filled with colour and joy. I took in a breath of the clean fresh air, and watched as the birds chirped down at me from the skies high above. It sickened me. I could not stay there another moment longer. I continued my travel through the countryside, eventually coming across a small village. It was equally revolting...Everyone received clean drinking water, good food, and was actually PAID for their work. I could see children in the distance, blissfully ignorant and lazy, playing on their bicycles. That so called ‘utopia’, so full of happiness and incompetence... Disgusting! That’s when it dawned on me.. Perhaps I could use their foolishness to my advantage. Perhaps one day the tables may change, and from it I could fly the seeds of chaos, misery and decay. Children could be put to work in the mines, workers be replaced with slaves, human rights replaced with 'Overlord Knows Best' and entertainment replaced with sacrifice...All shall worship the Dark Lord...Or else. From the marvels of slave-labour I rose a towering fortress, enshadowing the land that lay before it while dominating both the skyline and those below, and finally, dream accomplished, I sat down upon my dark and fiery thrown, and watched as the world crumbled in my fingertips. Alas, I have grown old and weak, the world has took advantage of this and so I have been removed from power. My riches taken, my slaves freed, and the world brightened. This is where you come in. I have picked the most loyal of my subjects to avenge me. You are to rise as I once did, spread the word of the Dark Lord and have the world cower in fear before you. It is one of your destinies to bring back evil and once again shatter utopia. May Satan be with you. (Put your name in along with your entrance paragraph and it will start Wednesday. Everyday I shall post a multiple choice question, with 2-5 possible answers. Depending on the answer you will either get closer or further from clawing you way to victory. If you are particularly unlucky you could choose the question that kills you therefore putting you back at the beginning. When you reach certain stages you may get the extra choice of picking an empire name, religion, capital name, currency, etc.and the first to reach the end will have a picture drawn depicting their choices and world created.) | ||||
Will start tommorrow but it is possible to join after it has begun, though it is likely you will be at disadvantage. Everytime a question is asked and I leave the possible answers, all people playing must write up how your person came upon the subject upon question, and then write your chosen answer. I will check the answer and inform you how it turns out and what you have lost/gained. | ||||
Oh ye and as well as the winner there will also be rewards for: R*tard of the Ages Opressor of Happiness King of Hippydom Graceful Ruler etc. And the results will be determined by the answers you give, as I will make a daily graph of %s in each one. | ||||
Name:

Name: Karzun Demonsul | ||||
Name:jason | ||||
Name: Killer | ||||
Name: Samulis Lokidus Imparus | ||||
I refuse to join this, due to the fact I fight for good. I'll join if I can kill the evil people. :-) Just kidding. | ||||
I too would join if you could be a somewhat uncorrupt overlord. ;-) | ||||
Samulis (my charicter) fights for good, but this is his mad great-great-grandson. It's simple, have one of your decendants do it. | ||||
lol u can join and win the reward for King of Hippydom, but anyways if this is successful I'll make a new one and introduce a bigger variety of paths. I'll post the first question in 3-7 hours. | ||||
Day One (Everyone currently owns one village, fortresses are currently not allowed until either more land is owned or your village grows. Though half fortresses are possible through the marvels of slave labour lol.) You walk across a narrow bridge, suddenly you are approached by a bright light. It seems to be riding a horse and begins to draw out its sword. The light begins to dim and you recognise the face as the freedom fighter leader. They fight to break your cruel rule over the village, and bring back peace and prosperity. This is indeed a problem on your way to world domination, famine, and misery. How will you approach this situation?
Choose wisely... (When you've decided on your answer make sure to type up a before story, eg. I was walking across my village, making sure the slaves were all working, executing any that looked slightly happy, when I come across a bright light. As it started to approach me i realized it was riding on a horse. As it drew out its sword i recognized it as a freedom fighter. I decided to deal with him in this best way possible. I called out for help from the nearby slaves. ) | ||||
(Haven't we got any soldiers or something?) | ||||
(atm you only have a handful of soldiers, and they are quite a distance away, in the future depending on choices you will see your village and lands grow along with more soldiers etc. You'll find out what your answer brings tommorrow, and shortly after another question will be given. If you got particularly bad luck you could be killed or your character temporarily left without a village or desciples.) | ||||
Demonsul, standing on a bridge across from where his laborers worked on his fortress, saw a figure riding up the other way. The man was carrying a sword in one hand and it was leveled at Demonsul's throat. The man spoke, "Leave us, Demon! You bind us with your harsh hand, oppressing our freedom. We will not have it! Leave now, if you value your life." | ||||
The mad king stood there, whipping the slaves who were slow. He had to get enough stone by tommarow, or else his village would never get their walls needed. In the distance rode a single rider, it seemed to be not Rugvak, but a foreginer. He welcomed the soldier in, and as the soldier rode up, he asked what his business was. The soldier, who was sent to kill the King thought that he could really be a nice person. He got off his horse, and came up, hand on blade, ready to kill him when he got close enough. In a flash, the King knocked his sword aside with his gauntlet, and drew his sword, prepared to cut off his head. He didn't, and feited to the left as the assasin spun to get at his heart, parrying the assasin's blade as he feinted. He did a low, and quick swing towards the mans leg, and pulled it out from under him. He turned to the slaves, "This is what happens to those who dare defy me. Fail and you will get this..." (to be continued) 2.5. Bring out your sword and 'challange' him. (use terror wepons on slaves...) | ||||
(u can only choose one answer so itll be 2.) | ||||
yeah... that's what I ment. but it is part of both. | ||||
Name:Braggi Age:23 Personality:A nice fair guy and a good leader of people Description:Rigth over average hight and bit muscular always keeps a sword by his side and a bow on his back Story:small town boy, not much is known of him for that he keeps in the small towns but is said to be a great swordsman and an excelent archer | ||||
Braggi was walking along the wall of his village, the people of the village had chosen him to lead them and now the goblins were rumored to be planing an attack. Braggi went a bit out the village when he saw a man riding towards him. Braggi greeted him and asked. Who are you and what are you doing here? But the man kept riding towards him and at the last moment he saw a blade and merly ducked the blow. I dont care who you are but im killing you for this! Braggi yelled at the man while drawing his blade. Give it your best shot. The man said while going of the horse. He charged against Braggi who easily blocked the blow and kicked him down, the man got back back on his feet bit slowly, Braggi charged at him and quickly hit his sword to the side and stabbed him in the heart. I dont know why he attacked me but i seem to be cougth up in some wierd mess. Braggi thougth while going back inside the village 2. Bring out your sword and challenge him. | ||||
bragi you aint stabbed him yet, you can kick him to the floor etc. but you won't win or loose until I give out the results for each question. | ||||

Everyone picked 2 so everyone JUST about survives, copying eachother aint the BEST idea, but at least you all lived I guess. As no one chose the best option, being number 1, everyone gains only slight growth in their village, strength, and weapons. We don't have swords? Come on... We've got 1,000 gold coins and can't afford a sword? Also, blood's red unless it's deoxygenated. | ||||
You don't have production facilities, and you only just gained the gold from looting your village on the prior day. What you think they elected you as leader? Besides your bout to get the choice. Also you're evil and this is half-fiction, so sorry but you have blue blood lol. | ||||
Day 2 As I moped around my cosy but evil little home, licking my wounds from the prior day, I thought, "Hey, wouldn't it have been great to have had a sword at that time?". But I then thought, "Maybe a bow and arrow would have been even more effective than the sword? Or maybe a shield?!? I could have blocked the attack, that would have been great! But the problem is, I can only afford one of these...Hmmm, which should I choose...?"
(A couple hours after you have decided and acquired what you decided on.) Minion Master:Sire the slaves are revolting! You: Aren't they always? Minion Master: Well ye, but this time its because they're attacking! You: OH CRUD!! THEY'LL PAY!! Minions Assemble!!

Name:Anubis | ||||
kl, you're one day behind but as no one chose the best answer it only means 10 less slaves atm. Choose from todays answers, and scroll up if you need to see how you're meant to answer. Also everyone so far as learnt that I may play tricks and chop off your hand as a result lol. | ||||
I would, instead of all those, hire the Romans to supress those dang slaves...but seeing as I'm not part of this, oh well. ;-) | ||||
Having wanted to buy a bow till he noticed that it only came with one arrow, Anubis bought a sword. Merely moments after buying it however, his minion master rushed in with the news of a slave attack. Calling for his minions to assemble he quickly assessed his options. If he let his minions do the work, they could be massacred even though better armed, facing them alone was laughable (read how to become an evil overlord in the hangaround), charging into battle carried the risk of injury to himself, bribing the slaves was no doubt to late by now, negotiations might work if handled right, being the son of a god Anubis knew that prayers are overrated, and retreating was for cowards. Forming his plan, he set up his minions in proper ranks and rows in the most defensable area, and prepared them for war in case his plan did not work. Then he sent a herald out telling the slaves that he was sorry, and had seen the light of goodness. Not two mintutes before an angel had come down and now he saw the wickedness of his ways, and if the former slaves would agree to negotiations he would see to it that everyone would live in a prosperous world of equality. Weak from lack of food, having no real weapons, and facing an easy way out, the slaves agreed and their leaders met with Anubis to talk. Cleverly though, Anubis put poison (one that Anubis was immune to) in his own drink and near the end of the discussion, told the leaders that as a symbol of their new brotherhood and trust they everyone should mix their drinks together then drink them to signify that they would share everything, wealth and poverty alike. After this was done and the leaders fell dead; however, Anubis in a fake rage declared that the leaders had tried to kill him and since the slaves couldn't be trusted they should be enslaved. Leaderless and unprepared, the slaves fell easily to the assault and were again captured. This time better guards were put over them to insure it didn't happen again. | ||||
errr it was fine up until the bit that they agreed. I tell you the results of your decision the following day. It's al good before that part though. | ||||
after thinking it well over Braggi decides to buy a bow, he goes to the market and finds a nice sturdy one and is on his way to train a bit cause it has been while sinse he has been able to shoot one when his second in command comes running to him. Sire the slaves are revolting! Arent they always? Braggi asked. Well ye, but this time its because they´re attacking! OH CRUD!! THEY'LL PAY!! Guards Assemble! Well retreat to the town hall where its better to defend, but try not to kill them unless forced too, after all they are the work labor around here. Braggi took place behind his guards and readied him self for the upkoming attack
7. Retreat | ||||
Killer pondered over what his weapon should be. One could easily kill from afar using a bow and arrow, but then again a shield could be used as weapon as well. | ||||
The mad king decided to get a Sword, for it was the weapon he learned to fight with when he used to be a not-mad prince. He spent the next couple hours training with is minions, whom had become very good fighters with spear, sword, and bow. He ordered 10 slaves to craft arrows and hunt birds to make fletching. He also ordered another 10 slaves to set up a forge and begin processing some ore they had found mining the stone [in the last post]. He had just finished his touches on the first room of the small tower taking shape when his lead minion came in, and told him the slaves were attacking. He quckly decided that he should 'reward' them. He sent out a minion with a proclimation to post by the slaves quarters saying that it was free candy day. The slaves were told to come to the tower to get their free candy. All the slaves showed up and were forced into a line and searched, the minions claming that if they had no weapons on them, they would get free candy. All the conspiritors who had weapons gave them to the minions, still wanting candy. The conspiritors were quickly tied by 3 minions, while the other 4 blocked off all excape passages. The mad king came out and gave each of the conspiritors a choice: Revolt, and be killed now, or get work hard and get 'free candy'. The other slaves were given bread that looked like candy made by the 2 chiefs in the kitchen (basicly, given their dinner that had goat blood mixed in instead of horse dung). The slaves thought it was candy, and because of the Placebo effect, they acted as if they were eating candy. The conspiritors quckly swore allegance and ate their bread. They were all released and told that if they did a good job, they may get more candy. Result: Slaves liked the king more,the king got to get rid of all the goat blood (and dead slave blood), he never had to fight them, the king got all their weapons, and the slaves worked harder. Problems: it costs 5 wild animals more to feed the slaves each week or so. | ||||
ugh for the last time u cant decide hw it works out by urself geez, you offer them free candy bt i decide hw it turns out tommorrow lol. | ||||
I thought RP-ing was about making stories, not only listening to them. | ||||
[[There are many many different styles...in this case you write like...what you are going to do without an outcome...and the RP creator decides it for you. Like if you fired an arrow at an enemy, he decides if it hits or misses. I hate people who are like *Charley cuts off Septim's head and then sits back down* because it gives the other person no chance to do anything except be like *Charley wonders why Septim just cut off a random person's head* I like to write *Charley drew his sword and slashed at Septim's head.* and then Septim can decide if he keeps his head or not]] | ||||
Name: Emperor Morning | ||||
The Emperor had decided to take the sword for it would allow him to make use of his short statue and allow him to make use of his quickness on the battlefield. A few hours later The Emperor arrived at the home of Vaniager a famous swords smith on the outskirts of The Emperor's territory. The swords smith took all of The Emperor's gold, but when The Emperor saw it he knew that it had been worth it. The sword shined like a thousand suns, and cut even the the hardest of leather, and thickness of iron. Inscribed upon the blade was "The Scourge", yet the sword had one failure, it didn't have an owner... till now.... yet still since the sword was so fine The Emperor still owed 9,000 gold to the smith, which The Emperor still didn't know how he was going to pay. After arriving back at his small town The Emperor heard the loud cries of his slaves charging the few minions which had stayed behind. The Emperor had decided to (3) charge in to help his minions, and put down this revolting crowd. The Emperor charged in full gallop....... | ||||
Since when did we NOT have swords? If we have half finished castles I think we can have swords. Also; 'Description: Tall, thin, in a black cloak. Always carries a sword and wears armor under his cloak.' 'Description:Rigth over average hight and bit muscular always keeps a sword by his side and a bow on his back' so we did have swords. Whet happened to them is apparently a mystery. | ||||
dnt remember sayin the slaves were unarmed but alrite, also if you read the bribe description proply, he got took to the hq and then got killed by your minions. He never saw any gold genius lol. Anyways it is a sorta fiction thing. | ||||
Results of Day 2
With Sword 1. Your minions charge in alone against the revolting slaves. They are chopped up to pieces by the butcher shop slaves, and you are then chased out of your village. 2. You march forward alone only to be thrown to the ground and killed seconds later. Not very clever... 3. Nine minions and one evil overlord plunge forward, into the ever-growing rebellion. Apparently seeing you and your “I’ll eat your babies” look on your face, nearly all of the able-to-fight slaves join in. You are surrounded and forced to accept their terms. All slaves are now freed and must now be addressed as citizens and paid an arranged minimum wage. You lose 50% of your gold production. 4. Candy hasn’t been invented yet genius. Your promises to cleanse the slave’s sweet teeth have met a dead end; all slaves are now more likely to riot in the future. Plus 30 Unrest. 5. You fly the white flag of truce and meet with the ringleaders at your headquarters. They are promptly glued to their chairs, where they are tied up and heads put on pikes in the street... Slaves get back to work without further mischief, and everything goes back to normal. 6. You get on your knees and pray to Satan for forgiveness for any sins you forgot to commit. Unfortunately Satan doesn’t take kindly to the whole “forgiveness” thing and you are shot down by a bolt of lightning. 7. You run to high ground only to realize you’re holding a sword in your hand. Swords aren’t the best thing for defence, and after chucking it in a slaves eye in a foolish attempt to range kill him, you are slaughtered. With Bow 1. You send your minions forward to occupy the slaves while you pick them off one by one from a safe distance. After a lengthily battle you come out alive, only five minions less. 2. Same as sword. 3. You charge forward side by side with your minions, forgetting you are holding a bow. You attempt to hit people with it only to enrage them further. You are eliminated and your village freed. 4. Same as sword. 5. Same as sword. 6. Same as sword. 7. You get up to high ground with your minions, who hurried to arm themselves with nearby rocks and branches. The slaves are battered and give up on fear of more rocks. You lose ten slaves to your arrows. With Shield. 1. Same as sword. 2. You go down on your knees and hold the shield above your head. Unfortunately the slaves just kick your sides until you surrender and get forced out. 3. Charging into battle with no weapons is even dumber than charging in with a bow. You are stabbed in the heart and die soon after. 4. Same as sword. 5. Same as sword. 6. Same as sword. 7. You go to the high ground, and hold up your shield, while your minions batter the slaves with rocks and branches. Any slave that manages to reach the top is then locked out by your shield. The slaves surrender on condition of a “happy allowance” which states the slaves right to look or act happy on a determined day of the year. | ||||
Of course the slaves are unarmed... Maybe they got a few sticks and rocks or something, but if the rulers can't get as many swords and such as they like, the slaves sure hell aren't. A shield is a very effective weapon, at least against as unarmed person. Sma*beep* into their faces hard enough and they're dead, or injured enough not to attack again. Seriously, it's a good idea, but you aren't doing this very well. | ||||

plus i know im not doing this great, and i do know how to make it better but I dont have the time. It takes ages to write up the questions, results and statistics. I think I'll end the game at day 4 or 5 and draw up the rewards. | ||||
Well, at that point, the new RP I am planning will be far more successful. Sorry 'friend', but in a world where Blasts of Darkness only last for a few days, Demons rule the land. | ||||
I assure you i have the ideas to make this 10 times more successful if only i could have the time. But it gets pretty tiresome and I can't really be bothered to introduce the new ideas. Now i know how admin feels...lol Day 3 After yesterdays slave revolt, the village is still recovering, and you’re still thinking of a worthy punishment. The vaults are running empty, and production is down, you need a solution but what? You then started to remember where the slave system failed. NO TAXES!!! You stayed up all night looking for a solution, when suddenly, a little light bulb in your head turned on. The slaves had a 140 hour a week work-load. With the generous remaining 28 hours for sleep. Well, if we cut down the daily sleep to between 1-2am allowing them just 7 hours a week of sleep, then the other 21 hours can be used for payable work! If the slaves fail to accumulate the money needed for the slave tax at month’s end they can be hung for incompetence. Yes that all works perfectly...After a month of the new sleep rule you notice a lot of slaves dropping and breaking things. You also notice many slaves being killed for incompetence and sleeping on the job. They are also starting to answer back. You can’t seem to twig what’s going on here but it certainly isn’t good for business. You can’t just keep buying new slaves at this rate, you’ll go bankrupt!!! Your economics advisor enters the room with a grim look on his face. He lays down the options and you start to see why. 1. Abolish the slave tax and reinstate the allowance of 28 hours a week of sleep. 2. Free all the slaves and therefore reduce workload and be made to pay wages. 3. Burn the village down before something else goes wrong. 4. Introduce a law that dozy slaves be hit with bricks until they look fully alert again. Though casualties are sure to follow and bricks can be pretty costly... 5. Send all slaves in to a war with a neighbouring village. If successful any surviving slaves will be granted freedom and your dictatorship will spread wider. 6. Encourage immigrants and tourists with fake brochures of golden beaches and blue skies, then enslave them all the moment they step off the plane, allowing for reduced work times in the overall community. | ||||
Errr... I'm guessing since I'm dead, I can't choose for this one? | ||||
hmmmmm, alrite if you give 500 of your gold to the pixies, they will then grant you a 2nd life. (lol) And you can then make a choice in todays questions. Oh yeah and btw, when i said plane, i meant magical, flying, transportation hippo. Not to be confused with modern planes which haven't been invented... | ||||
