Crotyl http://img218.imageshack.us/img218/1891/mapqf2.png Big triangle things = Mountains(and volcano, guess which one) This will be simple, honestly. A brief overview if you don't want to read the whole thing. You begin with 100 soldiers(warriors) and a village, which you can place where ever you want, just tell me roughly where you want it, or else put it in yourself. I'll assign different colours to people to show which are there villages/towns/cites. You train troops from peasants in villages etc. You buy weapons and armours for them. You travel over the world, taking over villages etc. You kill off the other players and eventually win. And troops take a certain amount of time to travel somwhere, counted in days. More troops take a longer time to travel somewhere, evening off to a certain speed at a fairly large amount of troops. Also, if you have only cavalry travelling somwhere, they'll be much quicker. Alright, you have these soldier dudes, and you go around taking over villages and stuff. You will have to attack merchants to start off, unless you feel suicidal and decide to attack a village(you get 100 men to start off with AND a village. You can place this village where ever you want). The people in a village etc. vary between the nos. given above, and about a tenth are soldiers, who'll be better trained in the bigger cities and better equipped(but peasants also defend as well, just fairly uselessly). You'll have to attack small villages to start(when you've got enough troops) and then work your way up to the capital. BUT, the villages/cities etc. can be taken back, either by the NPC(me) or other players. You can also fight other players one on one, or two on two or one on two or... However, the aim of the game is to take over the world, or else kill the other players. You can however, join whenever you want, but you only start with 100 men, and might be miles behind the other players. Right, firstly I'll explain how to fight, then how to get gold, and then the cost of troops(and about the troops themselves). Oh, and then races and magical creatures and such stuff. Fighting To fight, you just set up your troops' positions. This can be done by picture, using letters for your soldiers, or most simply, you can just say how the troops are positioned. E.g. Archers in front, firing at the enemy once they come into range, then falling back, cavalry charge, then footsoldiers charge, or something like that. Next(this is optional, troops' positioning is more important, and numbers still more important still, but this can sway the battle) you describe/RP the fight(you cannot say who wins though). That's it. Simple? Gold Now, obtaining that all-precious metal, gold. It's the currency, you need it to train troops and buy weapons and stuff for your troops(don't panic just yet, read on)... The easiest way is to attack travelling merchants(set camp a bit from a village/town/city, and just wait). This provide between 100 and 1,000 gold if successful. Not a lot(you'll get an idea of how much gold is worth on reading the troops section), but easy to get with minimal losses. However, small armies of roughly between a hundred and five hundred men patrol the world(Crotyl), and they might attack you. Even bigger armies sometimes wander around, but this is with some objective, maybe to take back a city or some such thing. The second way is to take over a village/town/city. You get ten times the gold of the number of people that was in the village etc. So, 1,000 men(including peasants) = 10,000 gold. Lastly, each village/town/city gives you an income. Village = 100 gold a day Town = 1,000 gold a day City = 10,000 gold a day Capital = 100,000 gold a day(you'll probably have won if you get around to taking the capital). Troops Ok, it's actually pretty simple. There are six types of troops. They are(and their costs are beside them): Infantry - Soldiers carrying all sorts of mélée weaponry. 5 gold. Archers - Soldiers trained in all sorts of ranged weaponry. 20 gold. Cavalry - Soldiers that can ride on any sort of animal, using mélée weapons. 50 gold. Ranged cavalry - Soldiers that can ride on any sort of animal, using ranged weapons. 100 gold. Healers - Soldiers that can heal people by magic or medicine(they're not miracle workers though, but they will save quite a few troops after a big battle with heavy losses). 50 gold. Mages(Magi if you so prefer...) - Soldiers that attack from afar with magic, but they aren't that good, they've projectiles like arrows, basically, and can change the landscape a bit(not much though). 200 gold. Now, don't think you're getting away with that. Firstly, you need peasants to train them. You need villages etc. to have these peasants. These are the amount you can train per day per village/town/city. Village - 10 Town - 100 City - 1,000 Also, various weapons, steeds and armours cost gold. To prevent it getting too complicated, you have to buy armours and weapons in certain amounts, and your troops(each type) cannot have more than two different types of armour/weapons in a battle. Now, I'm not going to put up the costs of armour and weapons yet, but all your troops begin with weapons picked out of farms and such(spades, scythes and such) and no armour. Races Ok, there are six races. Orcs, Trolls, Elves, Halflings, Dwarfs and Humans. They aren't much different from each other, but they each have bonuses. You can only hire troops of the same race, but they're all the same anyway, it's just that you won't get the bonuses of other races. Humans - Better cavalry Orcs - Better infantry. Elves - Better cavalry archers. Dwarfs - Better mages Halflings - Better healers. Trolls - Better archers. Sign-ups: All you'll have to keep track of is your gold and amount of troops and weapons. It may look complicated(not so in my opinion), but it's not. By the way, Delran, just wondering, is this what you sort of had in mind?
How active do you need to be? How many battles/day can you have? What if you're attacking a person and they arn't able to respond quickly?
*Kinda. Looks cool enought. I'm in.*
You don't need to be particularily active. You can't really have altogether too many battles a day, unless you split up your army into tiny ones. When players are fighting against each other, they'll have two days to respond. During that time, they keep getting gold and can train troops, but can't send any more to that particular battle, but can fight elsewhere if they so wish.
2. Adrastos - Trolls | ||||
1. Delran - Elves | ||||
[[Am I aloud to sign up?Or will everyone hate me?]]
[OOC: You are allowed to sign up, but do not make anything folley, or else......]
(lol spray paint in the sea looks like chinese letters)
[[Ok delran and yeah killer it looks like chinese letters :P]]
3. Electric - Troll Village Grapar - Middle, Slightly N of Redest Fort Color - Orange
[OOC: Good choice! Congrats! Now to the point: Are you blind? Read the post again. The part about gold.]
[[What the heck did I do wrong that time?Gah I hate things like this]]
[OOC: Read the part about gold. And then look for the locations of my village and Adrastos. You will see what you did wrong.]
4. Sinthoras - Elves | ||||
Demonsul - Human | ||||
[[OK.Let me give this a try again...Sorry if I chose too many troop types for my 100]] 3. Electric - Troll Vilage - The one northeast of Yrasolert If I can choose starting troops..then I choose, 40 Infantry, 40 Archers,10 Calvary, and 10 Ranged Calvary.
| ||||
Ugh... Electric, you were right the first time, you put your village where ever you want(and of course you can sign-up, why wouldn't you? It surely will be better than looking at your sp@m in the chat...). So, sorry anyone that picked one of the villages already there, you'll have to place another one, not where the villages already are, but anywhere on the map you want(a sensible spot though, like not up on the highest mountain, otherwise all your people will freeze to death). Sorry, you don't get to pick your soldiers, I said "
You begin with 100 soldiers(warriors) and a village." What I meant to say was infantry(I had originally labelled the infantry warriors and forgot to change them). So, no, you don't pick your troops, sorry about that. All the cities blong to a king by the way, and the peasants of all villages pay taxes(not your own though, just NPCs). This king rewards people for these quests, and they vary from a measly 1,000 gold to 1,000,000 gold(for quite tough ones, as you can imagine). I'm not going to bother updating the map until I get all the current villages and then we'll start. I got a message with a few questions asked, and I probably should answer them here so everyone knows how this works. If you have any more questions, you can ask them here, unless you don't want to(in which case just message me).
| ||||
Ill pick the very manly colour Pink then :)
| ||||
| ||||
Heh, I was just copying whatever I saw...fine, I'm here.
[[DELRAN IM GONNA MURDER YOU]]
"Conserve that(your? I don't know...) precious hatred for the game." Dethos, what do you mean by light blue? If it's cyan you can't have it, if it's this colour you can. Also, I know exactly where to put your village, don't worry. Delran - If you were talking about the village already there(if
it's where I think you're talking about), you'll have to pick another
spot, if not, can you tell me what one you mean by second river?
| ||||
Looks very good. Can't wait for the word go.
That colour will be fine.
Before we go anywhere, a few questions;
*beep*, forgot... All other ones not mentioned below are of the first category(copper/mithril etc.)
| ||||
Can we train scouts/spies to see how many troops are in a city, or to scout ahead to see whether the road is safe?
[[OK.No more complications I hope?Also thanks for helping me out there..the directions can screw you up..]]
So to get it all together: Crotyl http://img218.imageshack.us/img218/1891/mapqf2.png Green lines stuck together = Forests Big dark blue blob = The sea Light blue lines = Rivers(and blotches are lakes) Yellow area = Desert

All your troops begin with weapons picked out of farms and such(spades, scythes and such) and no armour. The prices for weapons and armour: Every soldier other than healers and mages perform much better with weapons, the stronger the better. The same applies for armour, as armour interferes with magic, for some weird reason. Remember, you can only have two types of weapon(bronze pikes, iron shortswords etc.) for each type of troop(infantry, cavalry etc.). Don't worry too much about this, some weapons just are more useful against infantry, some against cavalry etc. You just say what weapons you have for all you troops, they don't have to follow certain troops around. They can appear from one end of the map to the other if you so wish, but they can't be used by two people in a one battle(or two battles...) You cannot have more than two types of weapon per troop(this will make it much simpler, honestly). Weapons are bought in hundreds(enough for a hundred troops). Firstly the weapon materials you can have(multiply base cost x number Copper = price, steel = 4x the price and so on) First is for any weapons like swords, axes(and armours) etc. that don't fall under second category, second is like bows and stuff(these will be mentioned, along with exceptions like slings which have only one type)
First off, before I start on the weapons, the shields and armours(1st category). Shields: Infantry - Bucklers - 20 gold Cavalry - Kite shields - 50 gold Armour: All troops(except mages and healers) - Chainmail - 100 gold - Plate mail - 150 gold Now, the weapons... First Category weapons: Infantry: Dirks - 20 gold Axes - 20 gold Short swords - 30 gold Pikes - 40 gold War Hammers - 40 gold Mace - 40 gold Halberd - 50 gold Infantry/Cavalry: Morning star - 50 gold Long sword - 50 gold Great sword - 50 gold Pole-axe - 50 gold Cavalry: Lance - 50 gold Horseman's pick - 50 gold Archers: Sling - 10 gold Staff sling - 30 gold Long-bow - 50 gold Ar./Ra. Cavalry : Short bow - 30 gold Bolas(3 weights) - 30 gold Javelin - 30 gold Throwing axe - 30 gold Cross-bow - 50 gold The second category weapons: Pike - 2nd cat.(category, yew, willow etc.) Javelin - 2nd cat. Pole-axe - 2nd. cat. Staff sling - 2nd cat. Long-bow - 2nd cat. Short bow - 2nd cat. Bolas(3 weights) - No cat. Sling - No cat. Sign-ups:
All you'll have to keep track of is your gold and amount of troops and weapons.

[Killer I was talking about the middle river on the East Coast. Just put my village on the beach, on the north bank of the river.
[[WHY DOES IT MATTER..THEY CROSS OVER THE RIVERS BETWEEN GRYLOWERT AND REDEST FORT...THERE'S GONNA BE ALOT OF TRAFFIC]]
[And you will be caught due to the fact that you will hit caravans on the same road. Also, he terrains doesn't work to your advantage.
Cidel is marked... | ||||
I changed my mind about my village location a bit, I would like it here:
Alright, I'm sticking the villages in on the map(you don't get to name villages, but you can change the names of cities(not towns nor villages though).
The map looks like a ripoff from tibia.
Do we get sp@m cannons? | ||||
Sign-ups:
| ||||
1. Dark red, why the question marks? I always use dark red...
I made the map in paint, and I've never heard of tibia(unless it's the leg bone...)
So when do we start :D | ||||
Eh-emmm... Now :) | ||||
I guess it will come in handy for everyono to right in their map colour, so for me pink!! :D
Yep, that's fine. Both armies will take a day to get there. Just so you know, merchnats genereally travel in small groups of between 10 and 30 people, so it might be tougher than you think. They're not trained in fighting though. You don't have to post in your own colour, that might get very distracting. Post your colour along with your name and race, or maybe do the headings in colour.
