Working on a Game
03:15:54 May 23rd 09 - Mr. Travis Leiondon:

Right now, I'm working on my awesome game I was talking about.  I'll go ahead and tell you now that it is about space and advanced civilizations.  It's a mix of Prominence and Star Wars, plus a couple of my ideas.  When I'm finished with it, I'll post it here in the case that you might want to add a suggestion.

Any suggestions now though?  I welcome all the help anyone will bring.

06:39:17 May 23rd 09 - Mr. Reborn Himanil V:

Well we'd all obviously like to see it first.

06:48:26 May 23rd 09 - Prince Validus Septim III:

Prominence eh? Glad that game is still influencing crap!

13:29:55 May 23rd 09 - Mr. Reborn Himanil V:

It is most regrettable though, can't anything be done to get things right again?

18:52:13 May 23rd 09 - Prince Validus Septim III:

This forum is about as dead as it can be. I'd do something if I could, but my internet sucks. If any of you have suggestions, throw them at me!

Problem:

My internet modem works perfectly fine when hooked directly to the computer, but when it goes through any modem (wireless or not), it doesn't work. Before we moved, the router and modem worked fine, but now, for whatever reasons, it fails. My modem is a speedstream (Not sure what type, I'm at another house right now).

...if anybody has any suggestions, lay 'em on  me! =)

Fine, Himalil, Here's what I have so far.

Sector B1-Dauth

Earth Date:  August 2nd, Year 2183
Scientist Dauth Procolya, using the Infrared Star Scanner (IFSS) which he invented, detected a section of the Milky Way full of life, which he named B1-Dauth, after the star Borisak-1 and himself.  Researchers on the International Space Station study Dauth's research to better understand the sector.

Earth Date:  August 12th, Year 2183
Miners on Mars discover crystal-like substances bursting with energy, and is currently being studied being studied by the Martian Research Labs.

Earth Date: August 14th, Year 2183
Fighting in Mexico ends, as the major drug lord Heervo Counde is killed in a fight.  They regain millions of cash, which they use to repay their debt to the United States and to rebuild.  The United States uses most of the money on their Space Administration.
A major breakthrough on Mars - Scientists discover that just a three inch long shard of crystal can move a planet 500 light years.  Lengthy space travel becomes possible.

Earth Date:  September 5th, Year 2183
The Martian Research Labs succeed in creating the Electric Pulse Pistol (EPP), a gun that fires a small jolt of electric power at an enemy, capable of blowing limbs off or giving third degree burns.  Work on protective armour is in progress.
The International Space Sation creates a small fighter ship that runs on the crystals from Mars, which have now been named Dragite.  Garris Howard, a renowned pilot, is able to fly the fighter from Earth to Pluto and back in under two hours.  Work is moving speedily along on more advancement in spaceflight.

Earth Date:  April 20th, Year 2185
After the development of several advanced spacecraft, Earth unites under one flag, under one form of Government, the Space Republic of Earth, or the SRE.  They send their bests pilots, soldiers, and scientists to Sector B1-Dauth, to explore the area for colonizable planets and other sentient beings.

Earth Date:  March 11th, Year 2187
They arrive at the star Jerex, where they find the lush planet of Valymus.  They scan the planet for sentient beings, but find none, and found the settlement Areguast.

Earth Date:  March 12th, Year 2187
Several small spacecraft land near Areguast, sending a message to them in a strange dialect.  Areguast sends a file of the English Language to them, which the aliens easily learn.  The two alien races that came are called the Saphrics, strange beings that are made of crystals, and have shards protruding all over their human-like bodies; and the Krayzons, human like creatures with large ears, black pupils, and brown skin.  They transmit information about the Sector in exchange for information about Earth, Mars, and Venus.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
INTRODUCTION TO SECTOR B1-DAUTH
You start off as a pilot of a small spaceship or ten beings, free to do what you wish;  to plunder, join the military, become a representative, a trader, whatever.  You have free will to do whatever you want (unless I disapprove, which then you better change something, else I kick you out).
RACES
There are five races in the Sector, each of them having their advantages and disadvantages.
The Humans:  Their native planet Earth, the humans area diverse race, whether their skin color, hair color, personalites, or morals.  Most of the humans in the Sector, however, are good, and for the SRE.  While they are not as technologically advanced as some of the other races, they can quickly mass produce spaceships, weapons, and tools.
PRO - Spaceships, weapons, and terraforming tools cost 100 MUs less.  (MU = Money Unit, currency of the sector.)
CON - Technology advances take two days longer.
The Saphrics:  These crystaloid creatures hail from planet Icla, a planet made of pure Dragite.  They have no need for handheld weapons, as their body is made of Dragite, and can pulse out massive blasts of energy.  However, they only live while their crystal has energy left in it, and their bodies can easily be shattered.
PRO - No need for weapons.
CON - Life cycle lasts only fifty years.  The chance of death of your soldiers/followers in battle is 50%.
The Krayzons:  Their homeworld is a swampy, dark planet devoid of oxygen.  However, the Krayzons breathe every gas there is, excluding poison gas.  They have no need for terraforming tools, since they eat dirt and breathe anything.  However, they do not have spaceships, and have to buy them from other factions.
PRO - No terraforming tools needed.
CON - Spaceship costs are double the original amount.
The Garzhogs:  They look much like trolls, and live their lives much like trolls too.  They live in caves, speak in a dialect that sounds like grunts, and fight with club-like weapons.  However, their weapons are strong, durable, and also cheap, and their life cycles are twice as long as a human life span.  However, they are not too bright in the head, and take very long to upgrade their technology.
PRO - Weapons are 150 MUs cheaper than original price.  Life spans are 200 years.
CON - Technology advances take three days longer.
20:22:57 May 23rd 09 - Sir Fever Reducer:
21:12:21 May 23rd 09 - Mr. Travis Leiondon:
21:20:24 May 23rd 09 - Mr. Travis Leiondon:
21:31:58 May 23rd 09 - Prince Validus Septim III:
Just got on too! ><
06:26:23 May 24th 09 - Mr. Riashin:
I'd play, but I'd rather play a character on someone else's ship :P   Never got into the stats, and by that I guess I mean I never got into the forum games outside of werewolf-like games.  I'd be willing to be involved, though :P
07:21:10 May 24th 09 - Mr. Reborn Himanil V:
Free, fever reducer?
20:09:25 May 24th 09 - Demonslayer William Berkeley:
If only Travis had some means of communication, other than the once a day VU appearance?
22:31:00 May 27th 09 - Mr. Travis Leiondon:
*sigh*
"I haven't been working on this lately, mainly because I'm not motivated to work on it.  So, I recently bought a new car battery and some wiring, so that whenever I start to procrastinate, I shock myself.  Kinda like talking to you all right now."
*BUZZ*
"Cya, I'm off to work."
